  1. I was at the Florida game also. We decided to drive back home after the game. I got back to Clever about 3:00 AM. Too late for this old dog too! It was a great college game even though Mizzou didn't play thier best on Defense. Wasn't looking good when it was 4th and 17 with a minute to go. But, they found a way and that's what good teams do. Weather wasn't bad either. Helped there was no wind blowing. M-I-Z!
  2. 3/16" in Clever.
  3. Thanks, Bill. Happy 4th to you and your family and to everyone else out there! We are blessed to live in a free country and owe a great debt to all the men and women who sacrificed to give us this freedom.
  4. I would like to go back there in the late Winter-early Spring timeframe. We stayed near the lower end mostly around Mustang, Little Mustang, near Little Caney and on up near Birch Creek. Mostly fished near main Lake points.
  5. No, we didn't get back there. We hit about 4 spots and spent a good amount of time graphing and searching. It was over an hour before we put the first line in, but I appreciated Jason's efforts to make sure we weren't just hauling water. We only threw carolina rig and big ribbontail worms. I caught the 7 lber on a tequila sunrise 10 inch worm from V&M baits. 3/8 oz. texas rig. I didn't catch the first fish until about 11:30 or so.
  6. Made it down to Lake Fork yesterday. My guide was Jason Conn, recommended by 2 or 3 of you guys. He was a great guy and we had a good time even though the fishing was tough. I did get this 7 lber and another that was about 2.5. He caught 4 with the biggest at 4.5. I stayed at the Lake Fork resort, nothing fancy but very convenient and nice folks.
  7. Thanks so much for the input fellers!
  8. I'm thinking about a trip to Lake Fork in early June. Would anyone have experience with or know of a good guide down there? Thanks for any input.
  9. Thanks, Vernon. Days do run together but enjoying so far!
  10. Appreciate that Men! Good luck to you all!
  11. Nothing earth shattering, but wanted to contribute some type of report. Fished a couple of coves/pockets between Cow Creek and Kennel Branch this morning. Ended up with about 10 fish, 2 keepers- 1 LM and 1 Kentucky, nothing big. Also had a couple of little smallmouth. Caught them on Swimbait, pee wee football jig and ned rig with a Berkley Flat worm, green pumpkin. The keepers were caught on the jig about half way back in a cove, close to mixed rock bank. Lost a good one that spit the jig. Caught a few on a dock in about 18-20 feet. Water temp was 59 when I put in and guessing it was 61 when I left at 1:00. Wind really picked up about 11:00. Also caught a nice goggle eye on a dock on the swim bait. I was using 2.8 Keitech and the pro swimmer from Big Bite Baits. Shad colors mostly. I appreciate all the reports from everyone and wanted to start contributing more. I retired end of last year, so will have more time to fish now. Hoping to crank up the numbers soon!
  12. Happy Easter everyone. So thankful today for so many blessings. Enjoy you day with family and friends
  13. As always, thanks for sharing awesome information, Bill!
  14. Bait Wrx had several on the shelf this morning. I took 1. They have some pretty good sales right now. There web site has a list of all the sale items.
  15. By the way, both fish were released and in good shape!
  16. Caught a 6-6 and a 3-6, but that was it. The 6 lber was caught on a dimiki rig in about 25 foot over about 48 feet in Wolfpen holler. Caught the 3-6 on a jerkbait off the bluff across the lake from Wolfpen. Saw lots of shad balls, but not many fish with them. Beautiful day to be out, disappointed we didn't catch may but the 6 lber was nice. Good luck everyone.
  17. So sorry to hear that. Prayers to his family and friends.
  18. Prayers for you, Mark, and thanks for the information. It's good advice for all of us!

  25. Fished from 7:15 to about noon today out of Cape Fair. fished down lake to outside of Piney. Caught 9 with 4 keepers, nothing big. Was in the mouth of the cove just north of Wooly and fish started busting all around us. I caught 5 pretty quick with 2 keepers. Was using a Berkeley Popper topwater. Caught a couple on a pee wee football jig with a zoom speed craw. Caught the chunkie one on a 3/8 spinner bait. Wind picked up a bit late morning and caught it off the main lake steep bank across from Piney Creek. Otherwise, was not real great today, but had fun on the topwater action while it lasted.
