  1. Fishy fishy in the brook come and bite my little hook I am really jonesing for trip. Float trip that is. I was just talking to a friend this week that I usually have floated about 70 to 80 miles by this time of year. I have done a whopping 18. I have had to cancel and reschedule more trips this year than ever. And I may have to some more. I have one scheduled for Sunday that may not happen either. Ugg!
  2. Also, here they say Spots grow real slow. But for some reason in Missouri, we are told they grow real fast. But I think when you really look at it, they are all about the same growth rates between the three.
  3. I think they need to know the LMB to SMB to spotted ratio first. I would also question the true accuracy of the 82% below 12 inches. Electro shocking doesn't work very well in waters over 10 ft. And we all know larger lake fish will hang out in water much deeper than that. I don't think I would want to change regs on one years worth of shocking anyway. And just how much and where did they shock? I think there are a ton of questions to ask before jumping on board. Just my thoughts. Some of them anyway.
  4. You don't C&R anything do you? Which is your right to do.
  5. Yeah truth hurts. But misinformation projected as truth can hurt even worse. I wonder how they would like it if the shoe was on the other foot? I have seen a guide on this forum post about his clients in a most unprofessional manner. Sure we all get a laugh out of it. But is that proper business ethics? Can you imagin if that client saw that? What about other potential clients? What if a client had a bad experience and held a grudge and every so often posted about it? He would probably be banned from here.
  6. Brag? I wasn't aware that is what I was doing. I was stating what I do so that you and others didn't have to deal with the kids working their way through collage.
  7. My thoughts on all accounts. I guess a lot has changed since I uses to fish the lakes all the time. We very rarely ever anchored. Unless we were catting.
  8. That power pole thing. Ain't that those two, sometimes one depending on your budget, things sticking up in the air back by the motor. The lazy mans anchor that you can't anchor in water over a few feet deep?
  9. I wouldn't say all walleye are stockers either. Even trout spawn in Missouri.
  10. If you are getting your panties all twisted by this thread, its a good thing you weren't here a few years ago. We used to have some real barn burners. This one is just funny with a side of truth from his point of view. You a bass fisherman?
  11. Why don't any of you do your research before going to the store? I always scan the net and ask my questions there. After spending a few hours probing both pros and cons on a product, I process the information and apply it to how I will use the product. If I believe it is what I want, I will then go to the store and review the product in person. If a salesperson comes by, I decline their offer of help. I don't really want their opinion. I don't mean that in a negative way either. It is just by the time I get to the store, I have pretty much made up my mind.
  12. Did I ever tell you guy's about the latest country song I'm working on. It's called: I wish I'd never met your mother that night.
  13. Ha! Thanks Red. I do wish I had a better camera than a point and shoot. But what the heck, it captures the moment I guess.
  14. I thought this one would be appropriate since we had snow today. We had about 4 inches here. Of course it was MUCH warmer today than it was the morning this picture was taken. It was 18* when Corndawg was doing a little trout fishing.
  15. I'd say this is why. You have to promote your sponsor.
  16. Don't know how much of a success Joplin would have been with out the millions and millions of tax payer dollars that are still coming in from the state and fed level. Not mention the thousands and thousands of volunteers from all over the United States that went there. Only heard of one small Joplin group going out to help at a disaster last year. Nice job Joplin. You proved to the world what every other town in this area thinks about you.
  17. Damit! I was looking forward to some boat rides.
  18. Al may be old, but he ain't that old. I don't know how much grass was growing in the forest. One desires of forest for lumber, aside from the fact that that is where most of the trees were, is that the grew straighter and with less branches, due to the close proximity of other trees, except for the canopy, thus producing better lumber without knot holes. Sun light didn't make it to the forest floor very often. http://mdc.mo.gov/discover-nature/outdoor-recreation/nature-viewing/mammals/elk-restoration/elk-restoration-backgroun-
  19. I don't know that a day yet has gone by that I haven't heard about the Joplin tornado on the news. Local news of course.
  20. Let me be one of the 5.
  21. You have missed your calling. You should be working for FOX News. So what do we have, less than 3 dozen currently and the top out number of around 150, living on 346 square miles, or 221,440 acres?
  22. I saw this discussion on FB. I agree that you have both White and Black. Like Wayne said, the lack of verticle bars makes it a black.
  23. I thought you said you were fishing with Ducky? Thats Al Linder!
  24. Gas grills are for girls!
  25. Here is a rare pic of a boy smiling on the outside.
