  2. Great guy and a legend!
  3. any port in a storm
  4. "due to the thickness of most fillets" -- that's the is problem I have, big thick fillets!! And they really are good guys and gals.
  5. Great idea Phil, I do the same with bass - although they really don't need recruitment help
  6. One of the guys that caught those 9 bass also caught fish so that Virgil Ward could put them on his hook and pretend catching them on his t.v. show.
  7. Fish with a friend if you can, be careful when using lures with more than one hook at night-a strong fish will end up getting a hook in you. And be careful of heavy lures and hook sets - nothing like knowing you missed a fish and your lure is flying back at you in the dark
  8. "I must confess my sin. I eat an occasional bass and they are tasty." *T*, your penance is 2 our Father's and 3 hail Mary's - and then take me fishing with you!
  9. No, some of the top fishermen on table rock lake helped eat the fish - along with some hushpuppies
  10. Great fish pictures!!
  11. i'm interested, but the smaller 5 inch screen may be a little small. I will head to bass pro to take a look. Thanks!
  12. Has anyone seen or used a helix 5 si by humminbird? It seems to be a value priced fishfinder - I am just starting to look. Any suggestions?
  13. Can you hunt more than 1 at a time?
  14. found this-probably made by a member here
  15. that's a nice bunch of fish!
  16. I fished mon. thru thurs. I caught occasional jig&trailer fish in brush 15ft. and dragging a jig 25ft. Most fish that I caught though were suspended, on grub, jigging spoon and deepcrank. I fished joe bald to baxter, and the secret was to find active schools on the fishfinder
  17. Keep your line in the water

You can't catch fish unless you keep your line in the water

  18. 6 fish - 1 hour - individual limit - table rock I thought this was a fun question.
  19. started fishing TR in 1958

  20. I listened to an audio clip of Mike McClelland on how to fish the McStick on another website. He said when he does not want a slow rise he replaces the front hook with one a size larger.
  21. Look at the tansducer surface, if it is scuffed up try polishing the transducer face with very fine sandpaper.
  22. Think about what you would like to do, such as learning a new technique(dropshotting, deep water football jig dragging etc.) I would check with the guides you talk to to see if how you would like to fish is actually working when you get there. Also, talk about whether you can fish for quantity or quality. You will probably have to wait until that day to know the best pattern, but you might be able to spend an hour or 2 looking for a big fish, then go fill the boat with keepers. Bill Beck can teach you many things.
  23. It was great to see both Brian Snowden and Mike McClelland fish so well, and finish so strong. Quite an exciting Classic. Congratulations to both of them
