Went to High School with Belt Cuts on my face. I left at 17 when I was working at MFA Feed Mill in Springfield. He kicked me to the ground after he told me he was taking all my pay I told him no. He kicked me until I went unconscious. Him and his brother took a Wire Brush to a Dog of mine, soaked it with gas then laughed at it running off. I left home, he wouldn't allow me to call or visit my Mom, told me if he caught me he would kill me. He left my Mom after 35 years for another woman, wouldn't divorce Mom but controlled her life. Wouldn't let her see other Men, would go to her place have his way with her. He would let his brothers have their way with Mom even while they was together. Mom died, there was no Will so he sold everything she had at auction, me and my siblings were not allowed at the auction. He gave her place to his Son from a former marriage. We was at the Hospital when Mom died, they had me signing papers, I asked why considering she was married? Hospital got hold of him got him up there, he was mad. He was outside didn't realize he was standing next to my Son, he was laughing said to his son he couldn't believe the way people in the Hospital were talking to him like they thought he really cared. He died couple months ago I was invited to his funeral. I told them I felt it best I didn't come. Yes they are out there. oneshot

I always figure I'm paying for what they destroy. During Deer season I have seen several areas where vandals have taken out Gates and Cables so they can drive their ATV's back in there, some even drive their Pickups in. What is bad so many can use Boats to get in areas they go and be legal. Seen a Guy get a Warning not to be driving off road, couple days later he drove his ATV back in one spot to fish. The Agent that gave him the warning gave him a ticket. Another thing I have seen is in Camp Areas, people step back in the woods and cook Meth. oneshot

My wife is out of Town with work. I decided to go fishing. Loaded up stuff, left went to Fort Bennett, step outside see I have a knot and core showing on one of my Tires. So I went back home. Heck I was already basically at the river I might as well went ahead and fished. Well either way I got to buy Tires. oneshot

I know what you are talking about I spent a lot of time in the area in the early '70's wasn't much going on as matter fact it was Wild and Woolly. But have to admit there is a lot of Tourist come just because of Bennett some even consider making this their home. If things are not changed in the Park and area we will lose Business. Me I in my selfish way would like less people on the river and in the area. But thinking of the many that depend on making a living during the Summer because of the River and Park I feel there needs to be changes. oneshot

Ok this week end was the New Hillbilly Days. I tried looking up Hillbilly Days, Lebanon, MO. on the internet, all I kept coming up with is they use to have it at the Park but no longer do. Seems Lebanon Chamber of Commerce didn't promote this as much as they should have. I felt it was much better when it was held at the park and had the Renaissance but Higher Up put a stop to that. I see Float and Camping Outfitters just from the road not looking like they are doing as well. I do know some not reinvesting their money towards the operation. New people just not caring. Some outfitters are known for the Party Place and a lot of Families with young children don't want this. Today after Church we went out to eat found most eating places packed but not because of Hillbilly Days it was more because of Fathers Day. Ok yes Lebanon has a lot of Commercial Business for a town of its size but Tourist have always brought in so much work and money. Considering me and my Family has been in some way dependent on Tourist for some of our living these things are of concern. Is it the economy, the way things are going at Bennett Springs, the way people in Lebanon is promoting the area or something else??? oneshot

Yesterday evening I went to Pomme de Terre, had some Sonny's Blood Bait, Glow Sticks and Head Lamp. The Dock where I was wanting to fish was packed so I went across the cove. Caught 3 eating size Channel Catfish and one Buffalo. I think my problem was Full Moon. I used my Glow Sticks and the helped, even with Full Moon. Lots of people put down Buffalo yes they have Bones and Mud Vein but are very good eating. oneshot

Only had Gas to get down to the river. Decided to just fish for Trout. Got down there caught one nice Rainbow, put it on the Stringer. Was watching Redhorse, thinking I knew I should have brought more Rods and worms. Then a Snapping Turtle tried to get my Trout. I tried catching him. Didn't. Caught one more Rainbow. Found a Good Rod Holder So next time I'm going Geared for more. oneshot

The way I understand if you use more than 3 poles you have to be stationary and have your Conservation Number on the poles over 3. If you use Alabama rig you can only use 3 Hooks. oneshot

Ok I have a 18/60 Jon with 70 HP Engine. I was just wanting some place close to Bennett. Seems like if I'm really wanting to get Catfish I might as well go to Pomme de Terre. Seems Gasconade in that area is just about the same as the Niangua. oneshot
