Al you make valid points yet critters have been going extinct a very long time and man has expedited some, yet habits change and we have only studied the changes 100 or so years... we are experiencing fast changes on our watch, how fast was the changes at the end of the last ice? Spruce and birch trees associated with the far north grew in the southern USA yet they managed to move north as the ice retreated some plant species went extinct because they couldn’t compete with the species that could, we are here now watching changes and watch in detail and understanding what has been a natural process. We still see plants that without mans help would be doomed...megafauna munched and spread Osage orange and Kentucky coffee tree... locust tree thorns were a deterrent for mammoth and ground sloth alike...a Florida tree rare that survived the ice ages, stinking cedar (Torreya) was dispersed by a now extinct giant tortoise doomed unless man intervenes... what does this have to do with anything? Nature is always in a state of flux, I bet glacier run off had som kicking trout fishing...wonder just how many fish species went extinct? Some cool fish that got 100 pounds some long gone gulf salmon or char, makes you wonder how fast things adapt and evolve. What was the black bass that diverged into subspecies? Both your graphs show the same much warmer interglacial than now with the trend line down, yes co2 is up but since only the last 100 or so Years has many pooped out these “ global warming gasses” so what caused the warming in the past? No one was there to log data to see just how fast it warmed but with data we can get it was pretty quick and by scientists who agree it was significantly warmer than today, yet that fact is ignored and data is cherry picked...we are missing something yet unknown. Science is ongoing just a few hundred years ago men weren burned at the stake for suggesting the earth revolves around the sun, 500 years from now they will look back and laugh like we do at how people killed evil cats to battle the plague

Here is a climate graph over the last 400k years, many times over those times (interglacial) the earth was far warmer than today, we cannot say what caused global warming in those epochs other than burning fossil fuels wasn’t a factor..., it just can’t be ruled out that this time isn’t natural, even if we stop carbon adding to our atmosphere the warming / ice age cycle will not be stopped, till we understand climate on a longer term scale, we are kidding ourselves if we think we can change or stop it. Some pretty good fishing in “messed up land” old coal pits and gravel / rock quarries come to mind... sometimes laws are needed, gas stations were required by law to carry unleaded gas, most all cars made after 1975 were designed to run on unleaded. Yet people punched out the nosle restrictiver and used much cheaper leaded gas by 83 you could not find leaded gas in but a handful of places and it was very pricy, hot rodders bought the high octane gas from small airports, I suspect we will see charging station requirements once charging can be done quicker...In Brazil cars there burn alcohol, half the BTUs of our gas, made from the vast amounts of sugar cane grown. Cars that get 30mpg here get 15 on the candy gas...efforts here to make energy from trash has met with limited success, it would take decades to effect change if it was economically viable

Eventually fossil fuels will be more expensive than other green forms, when that happens we will see a massive shift to those green forms. Tech and innovation is ongoing, just read about a breakthrough on fusion technology. if that pans out, it will be a game changer...the issues I have with forced change by taxing ones “carbon footprint “ is flawed when tax credits to encourage new green tech is less damaging to the economy. But when more money can be taken from your pocket to enrich and empower the elite they will do what’s best for them than you. Snagged if your work is making green Energy goods I can see what dog you have in this fight... I see cars all electric in the future that need no or minimal battery power with small self generating devices in some yet invented device. We will pine away all the fossil fuel jobs losses and its impact on our economy. perhaps we can tell them all to # “learn to code”or by that time all those jobs will be outsourced to some other country for pennies on the wage dollar, nothing is perfect by I will bet on the USA getting right before some other country
