  1. We shall see. Couldn't beat our way out of a wet paper bag the last three seasons, then seems we finally turned the corner two weeks ago and have posted two straight shutouts. Both of those have been at home, though. I'd have to give you guys the upper hand right now but it's football and strange things can happen. Woo Pig Sooie!
  2. I have a 7-3 Duckett medium cranking model that is perfect for the Wart. Combine that with 10-pound P-Line CXX mono and a Lew's Tournament Series reel and I can throw the thing practically out of sight. Rod has a perfectly soft tip that allows the fish to take the bait.
  3. I bet he's thinking about that Jed rig or Ted rig or Ed rig or whatever the heck they call it.
  4. Good job, Bo. Takes some willpower to stay after those deep fish in wind like we had today.
  5. LOL, good ones guys.
  6. The worst day on Table Rock is still enjoyable. Just 55,000 acres of heaven on earth.
  7. Definitely one of those strange days that figured to be a lot better than it was.
  8. Nice ones. Fall fishing is the bomb.
  9. Good job, Thumbs. Was a tougher day than I thought it'd be.
  10. You aren't kidding about that big brown fish, addiction. I told Donna, since I've taken a break from tournament fishing the past year or so, losing a fish doesn't bother me so much. But that thing thumped my spinnerbait like a big one does and then turned and tried to swim away with it and we had a momentary tug of war that ended with the fish coming to the surface and the spinnerbait flying back at me when the hook pulled out. I shouldn't have put that much pressure on the fish but I just went braindead. At least with it coming to the top, Donna and I both got a good look at it and agreed it was closer to 5 pounds than 4 pounds. Would've been my biggest brownie. I'd also have to agree with you about the all-day rain. Don't recall ever having a banner day in it. Interesting to hear another seasoned angler say the same. All you guys have a good Thanksgiving week. Donna and I are hoping to be back out there Friday and Saturday.
  11. Beautiful fish. That 7-pounder is a picture of health.Great job and congrats on a heckuva day.
  12. Nicely said. Certainly makes all the difference in the world when you use the right tool for the job. Having Mike McClelland design that rod was a great choice on Falcon's part.
  13. Was 57-58 last Saturday ... Still mid 50s I bet.
  14. 5bites, certainly no problem on Grand unless GRDA has rules against gun possession. Don't know and sure don't want to contribute to the extension of this thread by getting into that.
  15. Welcome back, our friend. And say it ain't so about that shallow bite.
  16. 5bites, here's the deal on fishing tournaments on Corps lakes while carrying ... as long as the law states that you cannot legally carry on COE property, you have broken the rules of most tournaments the minute you enter COE property with your gun. Why? Because practically all tournaments have a rule stating that you must follow all local, state and federal laws and that breaching any of those laws is grounds for disqualification. I'm not anti-gun by any means, just stating a fact here. If you insist on carrying against COE regulations, there aren't many tournaments you can legally fish.
  17. Magic Ghost Tangerine Craw will work in a pinch. It's not gonna get you as many quality bites as the Magic Ghost Orange Craw, but it's better than sitting at home waiting for the big brown truck to bring your Tackle Warehouse order.
  18. Good supply. Hope they bite for ya.
  19. Decoy color.
  20. OK THANK YOU JASPY
  21. Doesn't look bad at all. I just get aggravated when you throw a jig for 2 hours and the paint starts coming off in big flakes. We've all had that happen.
  22. Can anyone report on how well the paint stays on the heads? Since the jigs don't hang as bad, it'd be nice if the paint was durable enough to outlast some of the others I've used.
  23. Thanks for the direction, littlejasper.
  24. Pretty fish for sure. Can't beat those big spots for sheer fun.
  25. Thanks Mohawghuntet. Love those big spots.
