  1. At least not for me. Donna and I put in 8.5 hours Saturday and captured a grand total of six bass, four of which were keepers. We spent all day in the Baxter area and just west of there and every fish was caught on a jerk bait --- Megabass 110 and Luck E Strike RC STX. Colors were just your run-of-the-mill shad imitators. Fished a lot of 45-degree banks and some bluffy stuff, but all of our fish came off windblown shallow banks with maybe a 30-degree slope. Never saw a squirrel, deer or any other wildlife move all day other than a couple of herons and some songbirds. Just not a good activity day. Water temp was 46-47 everywhere we went.
  2. ^^^ Now that's funny I don't care who you are.
  3. I think if they are able to put anglers into their own boat brand, they do. Kevin Short fished from a BassCat, Gary Clouse (owner of Phoenix Boats) fished from a Phoenix, etc.
  4. Or you could just tap some of the local guides for waypoints and feed the numbers to your team ... like a BASS official purportedly did for Palaniuk a few years back up North.
  5. Ned or shaky head will catch those same fish with a lot less rigging hassle.
  6. Great, now you guys have outed my system to the masses. I'm sunk deeper than a 1987 Nitro.
  7. Count me in.
  8. Just reacting to social media exposure for a private place where law-abiding members already pay a POA yearly lake access fee ($165) plus monthly assessments and have to share what we pay for with trespassers.
  9. Very nice offer, indeed. It's great to have you around here, Wrench.
  10. Eight rigs is spreading yourself awfully thin, Thumbs. Hard to give anything a decent chance with that many options.
  11. LOL. that's a buoy and looks like a blue heron perched on it.
  12. Thanks for the reports, guys.

Obviously, the kid was hungry. Aren't all high school boys? Thus the two Walters.
  14. Folks, this post right here speaks volumes about a lure he never mentioned. If Alex is not catching them on it, I doubt that anyone is.
  15. We don't need teeth to correctly spell losing. I would think you could spell that in your sleep considering the present state of your athletic program. And yes, ours sucks too. ?
  16. Two words that should never be in the same conversation are smallmouth and freezer. Way too many other options out there for table fare.
  17. Don't let the warm air temperatures tempt you into fishing too fast. It's still January and water temps are still in the 40s. Based on where I found fish last week in the mid-lake area, I'd concentrate on transition areas where bluffs taper out into 45-degree chunk rock and then where that chunk rocks tapers even more into gravel. Jerk bait, Rock Crawler and (if you must) A-rig. Good luck and let us know how you do.
  18. You might also check and see if they have the $165 annual permit stickers attached. Doesn't have to be the 2017 stickers until March 1 but they should have a red 2016 sticker or I would call the POA Recreation Director at 855-5073. I'm tired of paying that big fee every year only to go out there and try to fish with dozens of other boats around me with no stickers. OK, back to Table Rock.
  19. Live-baiting for smallmouth? Dare I ask if he is releasing them?
  20. Don't understand why someone would post that on Bass Blaster.
  21. This is awesome news considering that someone in our two-person household is turning 62 in May. LOL

  23. This is wonderful technology from several aspects ... the mounts are of such quality that it takes close examination to tell them from a traditional mount; they don't seep oil and discolor over the years because there's no actual skin; and best of all, as Stone points out, the fish goes back in the lake. Amazingly, some people remain dead set (pardon the pun) on killing trophy fish to have a "real mount" made by a taxidermist.
  24. I like Mill Creek because the way the courtesy dock is set up, you can back down right next to it and just step in or out of your boat, as opposed to having to climb over the bow. Huge convenience factor.
