  1. Bo flat catches 'em. Can't remember the last time he didn't.
  2. I'm with you, Dave. I've fished a lot of hair jigs with the little 101 spin frog on the back over the years and never gotten the results I thought I should.
  3. I'll stick with Dave's tried-and-true stuff.
  4. I'm in for that. As long as they are the 110 size.
  5. Hey now, those Spybaits are awesome. Everyone should have some. And anyone who doesn't can contact me and I'll sell em some.
  6. Tell you something else I remember from the week prior. The Central Pro-Am tourney was our season championship and that was back when the circuit actually paid something. First and second place on the pro side both received Skeeter boats and third place won a 200-hp Yamaha motor. First place on the co-angler side also paid a boat. There was also cash for other top finishers. Both days of our championship, I came across multiple guys who were there practicing for the Everstart who asked me if I was fishing the CPA derby, and when I said yes they would pull up their trolling motors, say good luck and go elsewhere. There was one exception, but isn't there always? Granted, they were only practicing for a derby that didn't start for another 4-5 days, but I still thought the Everstart guys showed a bunch of class that week by letting us CPA guys have our water to ourselves.
  7. I remember that well, Mike. Pretty sure it was Robin's Resort that got hit. I was up there the week before for Central Pro-Am.
  8. She's all too well aware of that, Mike. We've been married 22 years.
  9. Warms my heart to see a dead striper, even if there aren't many left in Bull Shoals.
  10. Well, I'm not the most anal guy in the world about stuff, but I don't consider myself careless either. Point is, I've never had a problem with the split rings on RC STX jerk baits. Caught hundreds of LM, SM and K's and won quite a bit of money on them. Donna and I have both caught fish up to 7 pounds on them. I gotta say, I throw my jerk baits on 8-pound Maxi or P-Line mono, and I don't believe you can straighten those rings without breaking the line first. Besides, if you're using the right jerk bait rod and playing the fish right, you just won't put that much stress on the rings.
  11. Word on the streets is the yakkers are unhappy that the name (Extreme Outdoors) is similar to their shop of choice (Ozarks Extreme Outdoors) over by Indian Point. Kinda doubt that Kelly is trying to take business from the yak shop. Two different sub-species of anglers entirely.
  12. Truth. It baffles me that they can't see that for every slow-playing, inconsiderate jackwagon they're afraid to run off, they're losing 3 or more quality customers/members. I'm not advocating playing "polo" golf. I'm serious about my game and I'm gonna take time to consider my options, read my putts, etc. But I can still play a comfortable round of golf in 4 hours or under.
  13. You guys don't get it. Those are the quick-release split rings that purposely prevent you from losing that $17 Plopper in the event you hang it up on a fish that may prove too big and strong for your line. Come on, dudes. Have you no appreciation for technology?
  14. I hear ya, snagged. The new norm of "it's all about me and screw you" is in full display on a golf course near you.
  15. TaylorMade SLDR 10.5 degree driver, R-flex shaft. Titleist Velocity ball.
  16. Mill Creek and Baxter (H Hwy ramp) are the two that I know about.
  17. Pretty sure they aren't set up to where you can back down next to them.
  18. Yup, it's mind boggling the things you can see out there. Stupidity is at epic levels in today's society.
  19. Pretty hard to beat regular ol' green pumpkin in that area up there. Might also try plum. Bluff ends and deep docks are where I'd start looking.
  20. That's some quality family time right there. Can't beat fishing for togetherness and fun. Keep it up, Cody.
  21. Pretty good day, Cody. How in the world did you get those kids to last 10.5 hours?
  22. The format we were talking about is keeping the traditional weigh-in but reducing the limit to 3 bass instead of 5. I still haven't heard from 100 guys who are willing to go ride around in a local angler's bass boat all day in the rain/snow/cold/wind/heat and not fish, just be there to weigh/record whatever the guy catches and ensure he doesn't cheat. That's the first hurdle to getting C&R tournaments off the ground.
  23. Actually, I found their FB page. It's 7-2. Entry fee is $25 if you fish by yourself or $50 for a two-man team.
  24. Call Hook LIne & Sinker at (479) 631-8118. They can probably fill you in on the Friday night details.
