  1. LOL, guess you're towing it with a Ford?
  2. You got it, Jim. Glad you can use it.
  3. You know, 96 CHAMP, I probably would have bought another one ... or at least strongly considered them. That 2004 188 Elite that we had was a fine boat. I had just run up a bunch of hours on it and it was time to let it go before I ended up sinking a bunch of money in it. I wanted a slightly larger boat, too, but to answer your question again, I absolutely would have strongly considered another Champion.
  4. Gonna join the legions of those reserving judgment on this ... but I'm skeptical. I'm with Gavin on thinking cadence and mechanical action is more important than paint finish.
  5. Guys, I have a nice button-up Champion shirt free for the taking. It has a button-down collar and Champion Boats logo tastefully embroidered on the chest. Only worn a few times. Size is 4XLT. Holler if you want it. I'll even take care of shipping. Donna and I are Ranger folks now and would like for someone else to get some use out of this nice shirt.
  6. Donna and I keep telling each other we're gonna stop being blown away daily by the lack of consideration and simple respect from others. Of course, the minute we do, some turd comes along and takes things to a new level of disregard and we are right back in head-shaking mode.
  7. I'll be 54 the last day of this month.
  8. Spare no hook when pursuing the fine fillets of Walter.
  9. That's a nice-lookin' lil bug there, although the hamster might disagree.
  10. That's a fine one for sure, QB. Glad you got out and enjoyed the nice weather. I was stuck in the office all day.
  11. What did you do, shave the darn thing?
  12. Ah, the good ol' 70s. I graduated in 1978.
  13. LOL, KC was the only "artist" I know of who made an entire career off one melody by just changing the words.
  14. That's good stuff, DC. Very good stuff. Maybe we can drown out smalliebigs with Skynyrd. Next up: Simple Man.
  15. Dang, I went and bought striper jigs the other day when I coulda just stepped out in my backyard and yanked a fistful of hair outta my yak. What the heck was I thinkin?
  16. That ol' Denny, he's an alright guy.
  17. Smoky Joe and chrome/blue will cover your color needs.
  18. Thanks for sharing the great news about Jackie. Been a lot of folks praying for you guys. Look forward to seeing her back in that new boat with you, if for no other reason than to ensure you aren't BS-ing us about all these fish you're catching. Just kiddin', pal. Good job of figuring them out. Most July days, 12 pounds will put you at or near the top in a derby.
  19. Thanks for the reminder, abkeenan. At least we don't have to worry about him killing too many bass, for obvious reasons.
  20. The amount of true ignorance sitting behind steering wheels on our lakes and highways is mind boggling. Same goes for those blessed with children. I hope to gosh thse kids at LOZ live to see their next birthday. Who in heaven's name is supposed to be watching them?
  21. Why do the tourists or those in the tourism industry owe you anything? We all pay taxes, no matter where we live. If you don't like the fact that others are making money off the tourists and you aren't, here's an idea ... get into a business that profits from tourism. For the record, I don't profit one thin dime from tourism. But neither am I envious of those who do or resentful that a Corps of Engineers lake is open to anyone who might like to use it. Seems like you have a very healthy but misplaced sense of entitlement.
  22. You don't like tourists or those who profit from them, but you moved to the Branson/Table Rock Lake area? That reminds me of people who build houses on the golf course and then complain when a golf ball ends up in their yard. I'm not an expert on crime, but I strongly doubt that tourists are to blame for the current run of thefts on the lake.
  23. Great pics. Never been up there. Looks like a hoot-and-a-half. Thanks for sharing.
  24. WettinLine, do you not like this area? Funny thing about that road you came down here on ... if you get on the other side of the yellow line, it goes back north.
  25. I'm not saying they should be left to rot, but I've known a few bowfishermen in my time and none of them ate their kill. Targeted species are carp, gar, etc. ... not exactly top-shelf table fare. The recent U.S. Open Bowfishing Championship on Table Rock/Bull Shoals netted 40,000 pounds of roughfish. They were trucked to Illinois to be turned into fertilizer.
