  1. Yep. No water traffic around the bridge once they start construction.
  2. How much to convert the rod box into a livewell? Oh wait. It has an arrow in it. How much to convert the rod box into a cooler?
  3. That's the most ignorant thing I have heard. I have knowledge of the inner government workings of the state of Missouri. If you feel you have a chance then please continue on. But don't talk down to those of us that know the truth. You could probably buy the regulations you desire from our government, but I won't be a part of that. You want me to give money to a couple of conservation groups? Then you give me an example of where they have made a true difference, a measurable difference. I'd rather take that money and spend it on a trip outdoors with my family.
  4. Doubtful. One, the fisherman that would like to see a regulation change on river smallmouth is a drop in the bucket of license sales. Besides, are you really going to not buy a license and just quit to prove a point? Do you think they will care? Really? Really? Yeah, me neither. But honestly I don't have a problem with smallmouth fishing right now. It's a blast. Would I like to see some better fish? Yep. But I'm not going to turn something that I love doing into a big ball of stress for me. (Look at how many time Smalliebigs has quit because he was so frustrated) Besides, I've grown past the point that I need a big fish to prove it was a successful trip. If I go it's considered a successful trip to me. Plus if I have to get involved in politics to make things better then you can just count me out. Take a look around. Politics isn't making anything better.
  5. They had been talking about closing down the ramp for new bridge construction on 65. Not sure what ever came of that, but if it's the plan then it probably won't happen until that is complete.
  6. Good grief. Take a Quaalude or something.
  7. I drove by a field last week taking my kid to archery. There had to have been 300 birds on the power lines next to the field. They were all doves. Looks like it should be a good year if you have a good place to shoot. I could limit out in my front yard right now if I wanted to.
  8. If I pay a lot of money for sunglasses they never last. Step on them, drop them, lose them. Once had a lens blow out running across the lake. I just can't make them last. But if I buy a cheaper pair I have them forever. But I can also afford to buy a new pair whenever.
  9. Which sounds awesome right about now.
  10. I agree. Worst place ever.
  11. Probably on Falcon but not further south. We went to Cuchillo close to China, Mexico. It was one of the coolest places I've ever been. Four very white rednecks that couldn't speak a bit of Spanish and a whole town of Mexicans that couldn't speak English. But they were extremely nice and fixed us some wonderful meals. I thought I knew what Mexican food was before that. Not even close. We caught fish like crazy. Fishing an old flooded pond I caught 22 fish on 22 casts. It was just crazy. And both my uncle and I caught our first double digit fish. The first day we were there I caught a 5.5 and the backed it up with one right at 7 on the next cast. It was the only time that I was pretty tired of reeling them in. It was rough when we were there, thing 2005, but I could be off. Check points with armed guards everywhere. They didn't speak English either. And once you would get a couple hundred yards down the highway would be a sandbag bunker with a couple of guys and a 50 cal. I surprised we ever made it back. My dad's old buddy still lives on Falcon and says that China is now a cartel town. And you never know when the lake will be open. It's too bad that they can't or won't control that country any better than that. I'd love to go back and just hang out in that little town.
  12. It will bounce back. It always does. My dad and his buddies started fishing it in the early 90's. It has it's ups and downs but always bounces back. There are some better lakes south of the border but I'm not going back down there. It was a scary place when I went and is much worse now.
  13. It gets even worse on some of the lakes further south. Just people trying to scratch out a living down there, they don't have many options.
  14. In Mexico they run gill nets all over their lakes. They take EVERYTHING they catch to market. They aren't interested in catching bait.
  15. iOS is nice and all. If you want to run apps and do snapchat and play games and LOL and OMG. My kid's Samsung Galaxy Tab is sweet too. But if you want to run actual programs then you are stuck with Windows for the average user.
  16. What's wrong with 8.1? Oh yeah, it sucks. I have it on a Surface and it makes it just about unusable. I hate that thing. My laptop runs 7 and it's fine, but 8 ish sucks. Hope to get the Surface upgraded soon. I also hope it makes a difference. If that don't work I'm selling that thing.
  17. Saying the guys that jumped off the dam drowned is like saying that some that was crushed to death while working under their car was killed in an auto accident.
  18. But Al, that's the new American way.
  19. When I was a kid, maybe 9 or 10, me and my dad were fishing one of his favorite ponds in float tubes. We had been out a while and I was pretty tired of kicking myself around. We were headed back to the truck and from where we were at you could either cut a 20 yard line through the thick moss right to the truck, you could go around it. Probably a couple hundred yards. Dad liked to fish the edge of the moss but it sucked for me. So this day I decided to cut through. I got about half way through to where I could stand. Took off my fins so I could walk and headed for dry land. In water just above my knees something grabbed one of my calves. Scared the hell out of me and I took off for the truck screaming like a little girl. Never knew for sure what it was. My dad always thought it was probably a big catfish. The marks on my leg pretty much matched up to that theory. Looked like something had bit down on it like an ear of corn and when I yanked it away those sandpaper teeth scraped me up pretty bad. Even drew a trickle of blood. I think my dad thought I was full of it until he saw my leg. I didn't take the shortcut anymore.
  20. Gee Whiz man you can't be telling stories like that on the internet. Now the men in black are going to make a visit.
  21. There it is. And others say it's the greatest thing ever.
  22. I'm no compound guy but from what I read on the No Cam you either love it or hate it. Doesn't seem to be much in between.
  23. Good luck! This thread is pointless anyways.
