  1. Never be surprised by the ignorance of a politician. They have no regard for you or what you enjoy. All they care to do is pad their pockets and keep getting elected. I spoke to a Sate Rep on Saturday in person and asked what they thought. Of course they had no idea what I was talking about but said they would look into it but I knew I was just getting the brush off. We've known each other long enough for me to figure that out.
  2. Your asparagus is missing it's prosciutto wraps. Fail. Looks like a great place to be.
  3. I think Bill was talking about W.F. Codys. The Roost at Kansas & Sunshine has a good burger and beer and sports. You can find a spot for a boat there in the back.
  4. When does football start?
  5. Lot of truth to that. I wouldn't take up fly fishing just to catch some trout, I'd do it because it's a blast and you have a lot of options, really close, to just have a good time. It's not the almighty trout but a quick hour spent plucking gills off with a small popper or ant does wonderful things to your soul. And a kid has an awesome time doing the same.
  6. We graduated together. I still see him occasionally at a game.
  7. I know a Pat Long.

    What's Cooking?

My mom used to fix that when I was a kid. I loved it.
  9. Kids like a change of pace that's for sure. Good job on finding another option for fishing. And why is everybody from Willard all of a sudden?
  10. Nobody said they were smart for doing it.
  11. Thanks for the clarifier I forgot about that.
  12. I have a good friend down in Texas that works on one of these "ranches". He "guides" the hunter and then processes the deer. I haven't asked him in a couple of years but I know one year he was at a little over a hundred deer that he had guided on. One of his clients is Rick Perry. Just because none of us are willing to pay that much for a deer doesn't mean that there are others that won't. I could never spend $60k on a bass boat or whatever they pay for those big annoying boats but I still see them everywhere so somebody doesn't mind doing it.
  13. It's simple really. It's a place about fishing, hunting and the outdoors. Not politics, not religion, not illegal immigration. No need to dirty the place up with that garbage.
  14. If anyone has to approve it that would be City Utilities. They control the lake.
  15. Yeah it gets eaten all the time.
  16. Well the first thing you have to know about bass fishing is you don't have to represent anything. They don't seem to care as long as it looks edible to them. I was really just trying to represent a jig and pig. I think everyone assumes that a jig and pig represents a crawdad. But I feel that it resembles a baitfish just as much. I will say that it doesn't do a very good job of representing a jig and pig at all. You aren't going to be very successful flipping it up into brush or dragging it along the bottom. But it has been very good fished as a streamer on the swing. So I guess you could say that I was trying to represent a jig and pig. But I failed. I was also very successful at the same time.

    What's Cooking?

Beans and cornbread is good stuff. I like to add a pile of fried taters to the plate.
  18. All the most ignorant comments come from politicians.
  19. Why not? He put himself in danger walking across that field. When I was a kid in Oklahoma it was common occurrence for an agent to be waiting by our vehicles. This is no different than walking around in the woods during deer season and coming up to your stand to make sure you are legal.
  20. No not really. You find them more out in the smaller areas trying to survive. Heck I can take you to several that will do the same thing I'm Springfield. But you said "decent" body shops. I'd rather have a crashed vehicle fixed correctly.
  21. I've seen some do that but not very many. And I would not call most of them decent. Do you knock $500 off of every repair? I know that I've been in more body shops than probably anyone here, all over the country, and that is not common practice. Not only does it cut into their profitability it also sours their relationship with the insurance companies. And they need them to survive.
  22. There will have to be beer and BBQ so I can concentrate.
