    Theirs or yours? I’m not going to say I don’t have any slackers, but everyone in my stores works. Period. If you can’t then you have to go. Even if you are a hard worker, if you cause drama, you are out.

    That’s always been the case. I’ve spent entire weekends fishing a small bank. Those good spots will just reload.

    My daughter lived in Rountree for a bit. It’s a decent area these days for the most part. At least it has character. The city limits of Springfield is only about a half mile away. The city limits of Republic is only about a mile past that. And the kids in the area go to school in Willard. It’s a strange place.

    I do. But we don’t have an HOA. However, I have had plenty of neighbors that thought I would appreciate them telling me how to live. We might escape soon though. We used to live on the edge of town. That edge has moved.

    There is no way I could function in an HOA. I think it’s better, for everyone that might be involved, if I just stay out here with the commoners.

    All the biggest smallmouth I have caught on a fly rod have come from dead drifting a popper down stream. That takes some patience especially if you see them looking.

    You would be surprised at how well I can keep a canoe or kayak in a spot. But I agree with what you are saying. I see a lot of guys “flying” down the river complaining about the fishing. I’m not as “aggressive” as I used to be but my priorities adjusted. I’m not usually trying to find the best pattern on any given day anymore. I usually decide the way I want to fish on the way, or before I even leave the house, and if that doesn’t work I’ll just take pics or float along.

    I do it a lot but it’s all in the form of photographs.

    Yep, I do like to fish for them in the winter. Just seems right then.

    I tossed a Tackle Max Hellgrammite, maybe you’ve heard of them, in tight to cover, but it only found goggle eye. I’m not a rookie!

    I was 12 or 13 the first time. The real questionable thing is why a bunch of adults would let me go unload a boat and take it out by myself.

    There’s a simple way of making sure you are always using the correct colored buzz bait. Just use white. It’s the only correct color anyway.
