  1. Just keep hitting the redial button until it said zero generation, then jump in the car and make the 45 minute drive down to find 4 units going. Used to drive me crazy.
  2. True. This place yanks my chain though. Other than a fly in somewhere in Canada, I think my list has been fulfilled. Now I simply just fish.

Well hook onto it and drag it down here for me.

    What's Cooking?

I need me a pizza trailer.
  5. I tried to rescue a goose on Stockton one day. He was in the back of a little cove all tangled up in line. I jumped out of the boat to lend him a hand and that's when all hell broke loose. We both fought for our lives before I was able to get back in the boat and leave. Coyotes have to eat too.
  6. I've been using spinnerbaits for at least 40 years and they have always been a favorite. Don't assume less is more. If you have been throwing the small 1/4 ounce baits and not getting anything then you are missing out. Now just like everything else you can get as carried away with different kinds of shapes, heads, blades, as much as you want. I just stick with a few anymore because I know with those I can make it work or use something else entirely that would work better. Unless it's dark, which is a whole different spinnerbait game, I always use double willow blades. Always 3/8 ounce. Never a trailer unless I absolutely have to. And I should note that these are my thoughts on river spinnerbaiting. If it's on a lake the choices may change. I like Booyah. Decent quality baits and you can get them anywhere. I like these colors. And remember, there's a lot more to it than just casting it out there and reeling it in.
  7. Buzzbait and spook sound good to me. I'd probably add a spinnerbait. And I know for sure I'd have a floating worm dripping wet.
  8. Those can be used to transport drinking water.
  9. I haven't tried a DDH Leech but have tried enough stuff that is close to it that I know they will eat it. It's a freaking smallmouth, they will eat anything that looks like it's alive. That's why you don't have to get too crazy about it. Pick out a few patterns and learn to fish them well. That's more important and you will have more success than trying to find the exact correct fly for every occasion. I do admit that the chase and creation of these flies is a fun side hobby.
  10. You need to build a duplicator with that dremel.
  11. Googley eyes are for baby dolls.
  12. Don't make it difficult. Something on top. Gartside Gurgler Something for the middle. Murdich Minnow And something for the bottom. I carry an 8wt everywhere I go.
  13. Is it dead?

Man I love some red snapper. This is the first year I didn't bring home a bunch from the gulf.

Since it turned into the snooty beyotch drink, yes you can.

    What's Cooking?

I have heard good things about Tortillaeria Perches for awhile but have never been. Saw Team Taco for the first time the other night when picking up some Ott's. I'll have to try both soon.

The Fuzzy Taco in Joplin is pretty good.
  19. I do. But at this point I'm going to just go fishing and not spend any effort on trying to convince a government entity to do anything for me. That would require getting involved in politics and I have quit that whole deal. Hell we can't get people to quit poaching so why would another regulation that's not going to be observed or enforced help?
  20. How much cash do you have? Because, seriously, that is what it will take. And even after all that the fishing may not get any better.
  21. The only difference on the stretch that I am familiar with is that is has more floaters in general. I haven't fished it as hard as in years past but from reports I have seen or heard it's still doing about the same as it was. It's also been a SMA for as long as I can remember. But thanks for bringing it up because it has inspired me to go take a closer look.

Good luck, I haven't heard good things about the restaurants in that town. Called my guy Wilkins down there and he couldn't think of one that he would recommend but he also said he didn't like seafood. And that they also lost some of the better off the beaten path places in the storm last year.
  23. The Twilight Zone was my favorite.
  24. Probably a good shallow spinnerbait bite up there right now.
