  1. And I wouldn't be shy about throwing a fluke or floating worm.
  2. Lots of good recommendations that I would be doing as well. Get something in those slack water areas and something heavy down near the bottom. In this faster water I like a bright square bill. The fish sometimes like it too.
  3. Wrench's Prison Dating Service?
  4. But I don’t really think you will run into anything sketchy unless the water continues to rise.
  5. It was already a little high but the rain that got dumped last night has it on the rise again. And there may be more on the way. I like it at 600 to 800 cfs.
  6. One of my most favorite stretches of river in the world. Used to enjoy it a lot more when it wasn't so crowded but it's still a great float.
  7. I think any time you see this you know it wasn't released. Or even eaten.
  8. I've driven it this way numerous times but in full disclosure only while running the shuttle between points. I've had it like that at 70mph down I-44 with no problems for a short distance. If you are smart about strapping it down correctly it isn't going anywhere. I have carried my kayak up there for hundreds of miles. Never had a single issue.
  9. Well when you don’t have or don’t want to spend $500 to haul a boat you improvise. Geez you guys make it sound like you need to spend a grand to have a successful trip. Can’t do it without a guide, or a boat, or the correct boat, or the correct gear, or the correct way to haul a boat. By the way at $500 it’s a trailer for me. It’s fishing. Find a way and make it happen.
  10. For $50 you can get some racks that are removable. I was a little skeptical at first but they work fine.
  11. Unfortunately. If there is money and any recognition involved some people will try to do it the easy way. It's been going on a long time and I have been on the losing end of it at least twice that I know of. And neither time would a tournament director do anything about it.
  12. I'm sorry did you have a point?? http://www.wideopenspaces.com/cheaters-never-win-5-times-angler-tournament-cheaters-lost/ https://scout.com/outdoors/bass-fishing/Article/Angler-Caught-Cheating-in-Big-Bass-Tournament-in-Texas-101451984 https://scout.com/outdoors/bass-fishing/Article/Two-Arrested-for-Fishing-Tournament-Cheating-101459761 https://sports.good.is/articles/white-marlin-open-scandal-cheating-in-fishing http://www.wbur.org/onlyagame/2014/12/06/bass-fishing-tournaments-cheating-history http://grantland.com/features/bass-fishing-cheaters/ http://www.westernbass.com/article/a-weapon-of-mass-destruction
  13. You don't have to weigh when you can measure. You don't have marshalls at this point so who is making sure they don't just pull up to a cage and pull the fish out. Doctored measuring boards, caged fish, stringered fish, multiple boats combining fish, lead weights swallowed. Yep nothing is perfect. But you can combat the doctored measuring board pretty easy with an identifier in the picture.
  14. We should buy the software and setup an OAF Online Tournament. We are an online community why not have an online tournament. 5 largest bass, in inches, and give a decent period of time so more have an opportunity to win. It wouldn't matter if you were fishing a river, pond, or lake.
  15. Kerr to Galena is just a little over 5 miles. It's a nice float. Kerr to Blunks is 8.7 miles.
  16. It's a lot harder to cheat using technology like the yak guys do than what is going on now. Besides I thought all these tournament fisherman were all just honest good ol boys bringing money to us hillbillys.
  17. Got mine yesterday and just had time to go over them. Nice job guys! Probably going to save them all for a trip in June. Tying three different flies was a pain but it paid off in the end getting multiples of nice flies. Even though I gots hosed on two buggers. Thanks everyone and especially Whiny John for being Swap Beyotch.
  18. Both the gurgler and pig are better river baits. And then even the gurgler tends to catch more small fish some of the explosions are crazy wild. It's not a bad one to cast in the surf either. Glad you like the Whiny John. Started tying something similar last summer that was basically a hairy Murdich Minnow. Then I ran across that Big Fly Fiber and that color spoke to me. Ness is famous.
  19. That's what it is.
  20. Heck no. But the wife is riding the cotton pony so we'll blame it on her.
  21. Well you can send it back if you don't want it. I have 3 or 4 of each in my box not just a bunch of flies I conned my buddies into sending me for a "fly swap". At least it was one that I had deemed worthy enough for me to fish with it. Isn't it about time you posted a report with a fish having one of these flies stuck in it's face??
  22. Yeah it's a beautiful view but I'd be better on that gravel bar down there.
  23. Ha. Probably mine. I just grabbed some out of the box I carry and didn't really look to see if it was a new or used one. Sorry.
