  1. We haven't nailed down any dates. We haven't even talked about dates really. I like warm so it will be a bit. I'll keep you posted.
  2. That’s me pointing to the instructions. They are only in my head but I’ll try to get them posted soon. We can start the bidding on that fly at $10!
  3. Why would I care what the hell anyone in South Africa does? Or Connecticut? Quit trying to shove this carp stupidity down everyone's throats and I'll quit promoting bowfishing. I have still seen ZERO carp fisherman while I'm out. Oh yeah, they all say they are catfishing, I forgot.
  4. Most are going to be using spinning gear and you should be able to catch what you want on it. But fly rods are fun and sometimes work a little better.
  5. Bowfishing is awesome!
  6. Well you could come join us for a section.
  7. I haven't felt the need to stay up to date on gun laws. I've carried them. Been questioned about them. Still not in jail. Banning them will never keep them out of the hands of criminals. We banned drugs. Nothing changed. We banned drinking and driving. Nothing changed. But if we can make it harder for some retard to get their hands on one then I'm all for it.
  8. That should cover lunch one day!!
  9. Agreed. And he does make some good BBQ. Next to controversy it's the best thing he produces. FYI.....he already knows he's the other member that's going. We have worked out a solid plan. He brings BBQ and I eat it. https://exozarks.weebly.com/trip.html
  10. You have any money?
  11. About 50 miles!! It's all good water. I've caught good fish all over that river. Have plans to float from Springfield Lake all the way to Blunks this year with another member. 52.9 miles that we want to do over 4 separate trips. But I don't expect the fishing to be better in any one section.
  12. I like the summer months best and then on into fall. For smallmouth I like that short section from Springfield Lake dam to Galena.
  13. This. You can't get 3 ounces of water past the TSA but we have kids walking into schools with an arsenal of weapons. Maybe if schools were big business we would see a difference. You can arm all the teachers that you want. But the first time one of them kills an innocent kid trying to be a hero it's going to be all over.
  14. every single year

  16. 40lb max. Has the makings of a neat tying desk though.
  17. Well then I’m not going either. (Not that I ever was. )
  18. You need one of these. I just got mine a few months ago. Took a little getting used to but now I stand at my desk most of the day. But can easily push it down and sit too.
  19. And the really serious guys will never show up at all. I think it's awesome that some people love it. Everybody should be able to enjoy what they love doing.
  20. Stick with it. My plan has always been 55 and that's coming up faster than I want. But I haven't wavered. It won't be full retirement but it sure won't be doing what I do now.
  21. I wish. There doesn't seem to be much consistency. Your best bet is to go in to buy it and get it in your hands. Other than that it's just a crap shoot and you buy a bunch and toss the rest. Like wrench I tie a lot of different things so I find a use for most or create some dubbing or just trash what I don't want. At least it's cheap.
  22. I did a ton of that on my last fly rod purchase and learned more than just which rod I wanted. I was traveling a lot at the time so when I was bored at night I would find a shop and go cast some rods. It helped me narrow it down to a couple of different ones before the purchase. But it also made me realize that I'm not a very good fly caster, not that I didn't already know that. But I'm not any worse than a lot of guys that work in fly shops. I realized that fast action rods are not the best option for everyone. No matter what they tell you in the shop or in advertising. And I also realized that expensive does not mean best. It was a good learning experience and I walked away with a rod that I love. But I also have a good idea on a few other rods that were also tested.
  23. I have. Twice. And I wasn't armed either time and walked away from both. One guy I was able to talk about of a bad decision he had made, The other didn't turn out so well. He spent a few days in the hospital. Me having a gun in either of those situations would have just made things worse. But it also proves that just because you have a gun on somebody doesn't mean that you get to walk away. Because like I said before sooner or later you are going to run across somebody that is a hell of lot meaner than you.
  24. Not singling anyone out, but you can have all the weapons and training you want but that doesn't equal that you survive. The meanest and dirtiest will always survive. You can hide in house with all your weapons protecting your family until somebody burns that thing down with you in it.
  25. Not sure. Maybe I'm not smart enough to figure it out. But I am intelligent enough to know that continuing to do nothing is still not working.
