  1. Yeah I've looked at the chillers but the sunfish are a lot easier to keep. Also looked at doing a saltwater tank but it's hard to beat the beauty of a sunfish so why go to the extra trouble to have nemo and dory when you can have a good looking gill.
  2. Sorry I just got back from a week of fun in the sun. I'll get some more pics posted soon. Right now I have a algae problem that I need to recruit some snails to take care of. Had a bunch in there last year that kept it really clean but I didn't regulate the population so they basically ate themselves out of food and became extinct. I need some new gills and craws too.
  3. I have always referred to them as "The Explorers". They try everything and have to have all the best stuff but they never seem to take time to master anything and enjoy it. I'm not saying that I have mastered anything nor will I ever. But I found a couple of things I like that have taken me on the amazing journeys. I guess we are just luckier than them. He's probably glad that I wasn't one of his riding buddies . I would have lost it if I was there.
  4. Well one thing is for sure, it started off with a bang. Even my 12 year old daughter was into it for a little bit. Fun to watch, not the outcome I expected.
  5. Was he saving it for some reason? They do make more. I agree with Smalliebigs, it's sort of a pain in the butt but you usually don't see anybody else. I can always use the exercise.
  6. Make sure you either keep it well fed or don't put anything in with it that is smaller than it. I had 4 darters in with it and a couple of small craws and they are all missing.
  7. One of my office buddies. You would think he would be a lot happier since he eats like a king.
  8. I would. I think that you will find most of the time, if not all of the time, those posts mean nothing to how those people really are. Chief and I used to be at each others throats on here and I now he still irks a lot of you, but we have spent some time fishing together and always have a great time. Wrench and I have had our share of problems recently over posts here and mostly other places but I know for a fact that he's a great guy to spend some time fishing with and even though we don't see eye to eye on a lot of things I know I could spend a day fishing with him and have a great time. I have made some lifelong fishing buddies on OAF. Some of the best friends I have ever had have been met here. Just because I'm an asshole on the internet does not mean that I'm a horrible person.
  9. Yes you can as long as you pay the fee. I think the fee for a Kayak is $20 per year or $10 per day. Just stop by the marina and they can fix you up.
  10. Yep. I carry as much stuff as possible. Going on a camping trip doesn't have to mean roughing it.
  11. In other news Missouri State doesn't seem to know where they are going to put all the kids coming in. Yeah maybe they don't have a great sports teams but it's a great school with an impressive and growing campus.
  12. By the looks of that guy he is probably too busy taking selfies in the mirror to really care.
  13. I am extremely pleased that everything is going great with Mary. That is awesome. I cringe every time I hear of someone with cancer. I've lost both my dad and my older sister to cancer within the last 5 years and I just don't have good thoughts about some of the treatment options. I took my dad several times to get his $7,500 shot that he needed once a week. He had insurance so it was covered but it was still a shock to see that it was that much. About the same time that he was going through all that I met a guy about my age in North Carolina whose dad had retired from a large pharmaceutical company. After his dad retired this guy was given the job of taking care of his dad's Porsche collection. I've seen some of the collection a few times. The portion I have seen is probably 40 to 50 cars, several with price tags exceeding $1 million dollars. It's quite impressive. But standing there and looking at those cars knowing that people are struggling to afford these medications leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I'm all for working hard and making a lot of money but not at the expense of someone's life. Sometimes enough is enough.
  14. Doing a little tournament prefishing and doing a good job at it. Nice. That's a good stretch that doesn't get as much pressure as some of the others. I've done really good over the years just wading around Shelvin. There are some good smallmouth around there.
  15. I left the Meramec one day about six years ago and got stopped speeding by a Podunk cop in a little Podunk town. I think I was going 60. Cost me almost $400. 108 is stupid.
  16. A regular one maybe. The one I had in high school stayed around 7200. But it wasn't anything close to stock.
  17. Nice video Dan. I like how they all swam in front of the camera. You need to add some music or sing a song or something.
  18. I think it's more auto mechanic than anything. Looks like a lot of them have small block chevys. Not exactly sure how they connect that airplane propeller though.
  19. He said nipple.
  20. I watched most of the 3rd and it looked pretty lopsided to me. The Sharks are getting the shots they just can't get it in the net. Looks like the Pens will end this next game.
  21. Maybe this is where things went wrong. Area General Provisions(more) Commercial use and vending are prohibited on department areas. You could say that filming a television show is commercial use. Was it overzealous if that's what it was? Yes. Does that happen all the time with people of all professions? Yes.
  22. Two things. 1. I never carry more tackle than most yak fisherman I see. I only need a couple of rods and maybe a spare reel or two. 2. I don't think anyone is saying that we wish canoes were allowed because we would have more of an advantage. It just that we have canoes and not kayaks. Maybe there is an advantage to fishing out of a canoe over a yak. But I would have to see it to believe it. I have fished out of both and while I like my canoe for rivers and camping, I see the value in yaks enough to be in the market for one. I've only fished out of a yak once and it was easier for me than my canoe. Once I own one I might come play and donate my entry.
  23. Yep you are right. He's a douche no matter what. But $500 isn't much of a deterrent for others to follow in his footsteps. That's what fines and punishment should be about.
  24. He was fined $500??? What a waste of time.
  25. I agree with that but rules are rules. I'm planning on getting a yak sometime, just haven't made a decision yet.
