  1. Great video. You guys make it look easy.
  2. I really like my 998 with lake master chip. It is definitely a game changer on the crappie. Picked the chip up at BPS. You might be able to find a deal on line. When I bought the 998 they had triple the rewards and that just about paid for the chip.
  3. Good looking fish!
  4. Gotta love them birds! Thanks for the report.
  5. Welcome to the forum. I had a lot of fun with smallmouth on 1/8 marabou jigs in that area last spring.
  6. Welcome to the forum Jeff. Looking forward to reading some of your adventures.
  7. I would imagine in the long run you would be saving money. Getting over the start up fees would be the issue. I tie alot of flies instead of watching tv as a hobby and I sure do have a surplus of them. As with catching a fish on flies I tie myself, there has got to be some real satisfaction in shooting ducks with shells you have loaded yourself. There has to be added value in that.
  8. That is a good one! you guys must have been aweful mad at them fish to be chasing them last night.
  9. Yup. Tried to stay at 1.5 for the most part.
  10. I think Brother Dave ate too much walleye
  11. Does not get much fresher than that!

  13. Put in at Kdock around 8:30 this morning with my Brother Dave and headed up to Snap to troll flicker shad. Picked up one good white in 20 fow right off the bat. Trolled all the way up past the next flat and caught 3 keeper walleyes and lost 2 others. Trolled back down to Snap and all 4 rods bent over at the same time on giant whites. Back up to the next flat up again and picked up 7 crappie that were between 13-15 inches, 2 more big whites and one 15 inch large mouth. Pretty fun day out there with Brother Dave. Most fish were caught between 15-25 fow along the channel drop just off the flats on Rico colored number 7 flicker shad. Cleaned them at Lilleys Landing and Phil took some video I will try and attach.
  14. Most of us are having trouble finding ducks this year in SW Mo. I have resorted to fishing for crappie all duck season till I see enough numbers worth hunting.
  15. Yeah, I saw you. Waved at you. How'd you do hunting? I drove all the way down to the end of MM early in the morning and saw a whole herd of deer down there. One had an orange collar on.
  16. Jet up Bull Creek and take a looksy
  17. I did not fair much better out there. I got to K dock about 8 am. Mainly trolled #5 flicker shad and tried to stay in 16-25 feet of water sweeping channel drop offs. Ended up with 2 keeper crappie, one gian white, 2 small ones and 3 bluegill. Flickers were about 100 feet or more behind boat. Trolled between 1.3 and 1.7 mph and would tick bottom in 14 feet of water.
  18. Glad you found some! Thanks for reporting.
  19. I saw you out there. I was in the tracker following the Pheonix around. I stuck with #5 flickers and did not fair as well. 2 keeper crappie, 1 big white, 2 small ones and 3 blue gill. I did see something else that was shiny out there and it goes quack, quack, quack.
  20. I like the si at the console more for locating what I want to spend some time on. When I get to the spot I usually change screens to di and sure fire screens so I can see my jig in the brush and fish coming up to the jig. I like the idea of the 360 up front though.
  21. Sow bugs and scuds size 14-18 in greys and tans. Midges same size. Zebras, rustys and primrose and pearl. Egg flies or miracle flys with dropper sow bugs, midges or san juan worms. The bite has been pretty good. Use 6 and 7x tippet.
  22. It is a great navigational aid finding mdc brush piles by gps coordinates, following contours and finding channel swings. Some things I want to find going faster than the trolling motor will go. Its nice to jet up to a brush pile dead in my sights at 45 mph.
