  3. drove by there a couple of days ago and the road was gated and locked
  4. That is Bull Creek......sorry
  5. Lower Taney just above Rockaway
  6. Sorry to hear that Ollie. Still early yet and that cold front probably pushed them scouts back down. Try it again around the first week of April. That's when the fishing for whites is normally the best
  7. Back to plan B-rigs
  8. That was just a joke people :-)
  9. Or giggin small mouth
  10. Same here. Just a busy signal. Dialed it 62 times last night and never got through
  11. Fished for a few hours tonight. Went straight to the flats between. Outlets. 1 and 2. Picked up fish on just about every thing I threw. Fast strip, slow strip and dead drift all would work, but only once or twice on each color. No real pattern, had to keep changing it up. Biggest was about 18 inches on the green and white minnow fly. Saw 2 others show up carrying a lantern around and fishing with it on. They only stuck around for an hour or two before giving up. I wanted to ask them if they caught anything with all that light on, but they took off before I worked my way over too them. Its been my experience that night fishing for trout and lights don't make for very many fish caught???
  12. One meal for 2 is all I normally keep a year. Have seen guys leave with a limit then return a few hours later. That can't help
  13. Ralph, That tends to help some too...LOL!
  14. White bass season is kinda like opening day of trout season...crowded. That's just the way it is. Sure you can go out and fish all up and down the river looking for fish, but chances are the fish are where the people are. It's pretty tough to get away from the crowd in Missouri. I fish alot at night and during lightning storms to help with that. Something about that lightning flashing and thunder crackin sends people home. About the only place I can get the whole river or fishing hole to myself anymore is in remote Western Alaska. No white bass up there though....and alot of bears to deal with. tho1mas, It is Blunks Rd. right out side of Galena off 248. It is a concrete ramp and can get real crowded down there during the peak of the run.
  15. Nice tutorial Bill. Do you want to feel it ticking the bottom as you would if chuck and ducking?
  16. Just go down steram from the launch at the end of Blunks road. Look for the boats and that's where the fish are
  17. $24 is a heck of a price. Cant beat that with a stick. You could get 16 pairs for the same price as a a mid range pair of Simms
  18. Have not been to the NFOW in a couple of years. Need to get over there this spring. Thank for lighting that fire!
  19. I forgot to mention water conditions. I dont know what the temps were but the color was a nice green with about 2 1/2 foot visability. Water levels are alot higher than last year. We had no problems launching a bass boat at blunks and motoring down. No real curren at Blunks or further down. The gravel bar across from the launch is under water. Looks like Taylor Shoals will be the hot spot when it happens.
  20. Heard some rumors yesterday about the James, so I went down there today to see what I could find. Put in at Blunks around 1 p.m. and there were 4 other vehicles in the parking lot. Worked our way down stream fishing white sliders the whole way. Picked up a 17 inch walleye along the bluffs just below Blunks Hole. Hit a few small bass and small mouths on the way down. Finally just past McCords Bend, I caught a nice white up against the mud bank. Three other boats in the area and saw a few get caught, but not many. Talked to one fella that had 10 of them and he said that he had got there just before the wind started blowing hard. That is when he caught most of his fish. He said he witnessed two others leaving with limits. This morning was the time to be down there. Got into a little early action this year. I'm afraid this cold front coming in will push them back down. Did land a nice small mouth also. Fun day to be out and get some sun.
  21. Thank you and you are welcome!
  22. Thanks and I will do that
