There will be a jerkbait bite going on then, but if the weather cooperates it could be won shallow.
  2. Can you send pics to dj_h7@yahoo.com ? Imight be interested in it. Thanks David Hale
  3. After reading both of your topics, best reel under $100 and best rod under $100, i am assuming you have around $200 for a set up. If I was you I would spend at least $150 of it on a good rod like a Falcon Cara and spend less on the reel. After all if you can't feel the fish bite I don't care if you have a $350 Shimano Core it's not going to do you any good. A reel is only a tool to hold extra line. I have set up my boys with bait casting outfits they all have good Falcon rods and cheap Shakespear reels from Walmart ($25 to $30) and they out fish me quite a bit. Just my outlook on the topic. 4. It was a little over 16lbs to get the last place money 75th place. There were 16 bags over 20lbs. Sunday was insane on Grand.
  5. Lake Spavinaw is a water supply for the City of Tulsa. It was impoundered in 1928, it is in N.E. Oklahoma. It went through the LMBV about 8 years ago, you could not hardley catch a bass for a couple of years, but it is back better than ever now. It is a small fishery about 5 miles long, but it full of 5lb plus fish.
  6. Our fastest limit came 2yrs. ago in a 3 fish limit jackpot on Lake Spavinaw, we took off had a 2 min. boat ride to my first off shore spot. On our 6th cast we culled our first 4lbr. We ended up catching 23 bass over 4 lbs that night in 3 hours. We had 17.05 on three fish for the win. It was one of the funest evenings I have had fishing. On April 1 this year I took a guy to Spavinaw in hopes of catching a good one or two, we pulled up on the first point and I caught a 6+ on my first cast, he caught a 5+ on his first cast and on my 2nd cast I caught a 8.15, we had over 20 in three cast, ended the day with 30.04 on 5. That was not in a tourney though.
  7. The fish are in their summer haunts right now. Fish are on points, in brush and around boat docks. Big cranks and jigs on points. Big worms, cranks and jigs in the brush. Your favorite bait around docks. Don't forget about big spinnerbaits also. If you are going to fish points, look for bait fish if their not there the bass are not there. Hope this helps a little and good luck. David
  8. We spent the weeked at the White River Lodge and had a wonderful time. Bill and Becky are great host and have a beautiful lodge. Bill thank you for a great weekend. Tell Becky thank you for me also. David
  9. Brain had boat trouble this morning and lost an hour or so of fishing time. Jamie Fralik was the only that stopped to help him, real stand up guy in my opinion.
  10. Can anyone tell where to look or where to call to get a projected lake level? We have a tourney going out of Big M on May 4th and I'm just wondering if we will even be able to launch there that weekend. Thank You for any info. David
  11. Here is the link to the BFL results for yesterday. http://bfl.flwoutdoors.com/tournament.cfm?cid=2&tid=5916 David
