  1. I'm with yah old plug; but that's like the Yellow Magics at basspro($18+) and other fancy poppers guys sing the praises about. I think a few of our well respected guides have posted their love of the Yellow Magics?......... Hype can only get a product so far. So there must be something to them? - Keep in mind, the strike king RC stix and megabass visions look like regular ole jerkbaits; by their internal weights are WAY different than the jerkbaits from the days of old.
  2. I've always read over the years, of guys singing the praises of the Rio's and Rio Rico's; but couldn't pull the trigger on a popper at over $20 a piece. But, Tacklewarehouse has some with cosmetic Blems and no hooks for over half off. (Buy three or more and they're $8.33 a piece) The colors have dwindled over the past few days; but they still have some left. Just thought I'd share for anyone interested. I sure bought a few to give them a try. - http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Lobina_Rico_Blems/descpage-LRICOB.html - (And my apologies in advance Phil if this is inappropriate;-)
  3. Not a heckuva lotta time; unless I'm looking for schools of fish...........cause if an area looks good on the maps or the shoreline; I'll try it. I've caught WAY too many fish in places I've never seen a blip on my electronics. Cause I don't like to get on top of an area, before I fish anyway. And my transducer is thru-hull, so I would only see them if I'm on top of them. - Maybe I just have antiquated electronics? - I don't recall the specifics of my Lowrance transducer cone off the top of my head (bow and console are only a few years old), but the size of the cone it throws on the bottom is relatively small if I'm not mistaken. So a few feet either way from a specific area; and I there's a good chance I wouldn't see them anyway.
  4. Good report Danger.......and that 6.8 is a beauty! Well done.:-)
  5. Great report, and love those pix quill! Beautiful fish and that picture of that maple came out perfect. Very cool how that bright red stands out on that bluff! - Those stories of the 'ones that got away', and those monster fish sightings really add fuel to my fishing fire. That stuff keeps me coming back!:-)
  6. - I dig these kinda facts though!:-)......interesting comparisons.
  7. Great report cindyjo!........and I always love those screenshots too.:-)
  8. Good find there Quill, thanks for posting. I'm a fan of RI's sprayed grass in the beaves; looks like ole Zinker hit the mark.(or maybe they e had it for a while; and I never noticed:-( - Er.........uh.........What I meant to say was........"if that darn Ned rig thing actually worked, I'd be interested."............move along folks, nothing to see here, move along, move along.;-)
  9. Yup, his reports have always been good to follow; and offer lots of insight. They will get you on the right track! - I've had the pleasure of chatting with Pete on a few occasions, and he's always been very friendly; and a lotta fun to talk too.
  10. I'm itching to see those Day 2 results!
  11. Sorry to hear about your loss RPS; but now that you're back on the water, get out there and get some of his walleye for him!:-) - Cool idea to have a fish fry in his memory.:-)
  12. I've never heard of the 50 foot of the shore rule. I personally night fish myself, (LOZ in the summer mostly) and if I'm on the water and the sun is dimming; lights are up and on. What's the big deal?!?!?........my co-angler will just have to deal with the bugs........we are in the outdoors yah know.:-) - I just leave the navigation lights on; even if trolling.......again........what's the big deal??!?!?........rather be safe than sorry. - I personally appreciate water patrols presence. And if you screw up with them, take your lumps and learn from it. That ticket or warning is for your own safety. - Down at LOZ, in pitch darkness, I have seen water patrols silhouette, back lit by dock lights; watching me with binoculars from across the channel a few times. My lights on; and my automatic inflate PFD on at all times. I give them a wave, they wave back and motor on. - I don't drive with my headlights off, even if I know the roads. Navigation lights are no different. - If you like to gamble, go to the casino. Please don't gamble with your life, or mine! Some of us have too much to lose. - And if turning on your lights at night is just too darn inconvenient; maybe you should fish from the shore.:-(
  13. That thing is a beauty Bill! I've never ridden in yours, but I got to spend half a day in Beck's Phoenix; and I will agree, these Phoenix boats are really incredible. They look great, fish great and handle rough water like it wasnt even there. Good luck on the sale!:-)
  14. We actually stay and fish Kimberling city; but always buzz up to Indian Point to fish. We've never bothered with the coves, because we do well enough to keep coming back, on the main lake points and main lake transition banks. - In my opinion; that richline will be just fine for yah. Slightly higher sides, the 'v' hull, and that 5 horse will push you around without a problem. - But, you may start getting the itch to really start exploring other parts of the lake. Lotsa water to explore; so don't be surprised if your curiosity starts pushing you further, and further around the lake.:-) - And be sure you post fishing reports!
  15. I had some really caked on dirt and grime; and the only thing that worked was fast orange; and I HAD to put it in my hand; then rub it in with a circular motion and some serious pressure. It worked fantastic, but arm was killin me for days! - I couldn't use any sponge, brush or scouring pad; it simply wouldn't get things clean.:-( - But this was an extreme circumstance!
  16. I'm with you Ultra; I'm frequently on the mobile version on my phone too; so I certainly understand about it being tricky to navigate around or find things on the phone.:-(
  17. Here's a link that should help. All dropshot related. - http://forums.ozarkanglers.com/index.php?app=core&module=search&section=search&do=search&fromsearch=1
  18. That's the ramp we launched out of this spring. On 1500 shadrack road; you have the right directions, looking at the map. But we came in from the other direction. - The ramp and parking lot are in good shape, plenty of parking (and there was a local daytime tourney when we arrived, still plenty of parking) and there's a courtesy dock to tie up to if you're unloading yourself.
  19. Awwwww mmmmmmman, Shakespeare himself made it??!?!.........dddddannnggg..........I heard he wrote some a dem fancy-schmancy books dem city folk like lookin' at too! Ther ain't nuttin that Shakespeare guy CAN'T do! Lock that up in a glass case my man, that's one a dem An-teeks.
  20. Good to hear we've got a place like Ulrichs to help us out down there. Heard nothing but great things about them. Nice to know my new-to-me boat was boat from Fred a few years ago too.:-)
  21. Absolute truth. I saw it with my own eyes mid may. We were in 30 feet of water by the dam and could see the bottom. It was unreal! Kimberling city area had less clarity. But, that was the clearest I can recall seeing it in years.
  22. Weights seem to be down; consistent to what Babler posted too. - I'm sure still way better than what I could do!:-)
  23. What the heck?!??!........I've been watching this thread and no guesses? - I thought it was a cool idea! - 1. I think it's a bank now, but for the life of me; I don't recall what it was.:-( - 2. And I'll have to guess Carl - Maybe some of those that 'claim' they live down by the lake will chime in!.........unless they're..........CHICKEN!!!........balk, balk, balk.:-P
  24. I've heard of guys buying trailcams and mounting them near the boat. - I have one of those long, plastic coated, cut-proof security cables I use to run through the bow eye; then padlock it thru the dock. Yes, with enough effort, it could be cut; but thieves/punks are usually lazy; my hopes are they will just mess with a boat in the next slip. So far so good.
  25. I've been watching this thread TR, and am surprised there's not more thoughts on the matter. - With the no cull rule, I'd guess when you got your limit; you're nights done?
