  1. - Ouch! Sorry for my abrasive language there folks.(I edited the language) I forgot where I was and got a bit mouthy.:-( My sincerest apologies. I'm a bit embarrassed about getting so jazzed up over this issue. Too many frustrating run-ins with these kinda fools over the years, boiled to the surface in my above post. Again, I'm terribly sorry if I offended anyone. - Ill be happy to delete the entire post if anyone would like, no hurt feelings. I just thought I'd leave it up as a reminder to keep my cool in such a great place; and not ruin it for others.
  2. Way to go flyman!.......great report.......I need to focus on those fish attractors next time I get down. I always plan on checking them out, but never do for some reason.:-(
  3. I wouldn't worry to much about those jerks in the world. What goes around comes around.......and it probably already has, ten-fold. - I'm pretty certain those guys that think they are big cause they own a construction company, are drowning in debt. Will be out if business in a couple years, with creditors wanting that fancy boat/truck back they could never afford to begin with. Then they start up another equally crummy construction company under a different name and let the cycle continue. - I would venture to guess, the company name Advanced Construction means the only way in heck this guy will finish a job is if you DON'T pay him in advance. Cause if you did, he would just take the money and run. - Or maybe Advanced Construction to him is using a tape measure?........pretty advanced stuff all right! - Don't be too upset with a guy who lives a life of turmoil, debt, not answering phone calls (cause he knows collectors are after him), throwing away or ignoring mail, because they know its a stack of 'final notice' bills. All the while trying to keep up the appearance of being cool with some boat/truck/home/wife-girlfriend he could never afford in the first place. - For YEARS I dealt with those jokers on a daily basis at work. They aren't nearly as cool as they think they are. - They think cause they can swing a hammer; they should be the boss. Quickly to find out you have to be able to do more than swing a hammer to run a business. It helps to be able to form a coherent sentence too.......that's where they stumble........or maybe the stumbling is just from the dysfunctional amounts of alcohol their life is fueled by? - Just my 2 cents from a guy with TONS of daily and direct interactions with goons like that guy at the ramp you had the misfortune of smelling there josh.:-(
  4. Scary stuff ab; glad things weren't worse for him. - We nightfish LOZ a bit for white bass. I bought a rechargeable spotlight at ya'll-mart. That thing is always within reach and navigation lights always on. If had to spotlight a few people who clearly never saw us at night. I don't blind them, but let them know I'm there.:-)
  5. Me thinks there should be a 'finders fee' of cookies for those who point you in the right direction.(hahaha)
  6. Good info Jason.......not too different than most shakey head worms. Tank test them and they lay right on the bottom. Boy do these tackle companies have some good marketing guys.:-(
  7. Here's one recently from one of the Carolina's. - http://www.wired2fish.com/cheater-caught-at-bfl-on-wylie-over-weekend/ - And Minnesota: - http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/06/20/minnesota-man-reportedly-gets-week-in-jail-for-cheating-in-fishing-tournament/ - I hear yah old plug. Guys who go through that kinda trouble to stretch the rules kinda make me raise an eyebrow. - But, I guess those guys hiding brush piles, isn't much different than me driving 4 hours to fish a tourney at The Rock, against locals who actually live ON the water. Not much of a level playing field; but ehhh........whatcha gonna do?:-)
  8. I believe that was from 2007. I did some searching and found some dated articles from then. - Still a good read, and always an interesting topic of conversation. - Several of the guys I fish with are great, honest anglers, and well respected. But when the topic of cheating comes up; they're none too thrilled about the topic.......I realize it's a black eye on the sport....but,.burying our heads in the sand on the topic won't make it go away. - Let these scumbags know we are ALL watching!!!!
  9. - At Tacklewarehouse, you can buy the gift cards for 15% off for Father's Day, then spend them a few weeks later, during their 4th of July sale for an additional 15% off most everything on the site. (For those who hate math like me; thats a grand total of 30% off whatever you buy:-P........I've done it the past few years without a hitch. I don't recall specifically, but you may have to call if you have multiple giftcards. But, don't worry; their customer service reps will help yah with a smile!:-)
  10. Great report Dave!......speaking of the fin, check your email, I sent a bit of a scavenger hunt for the kids with map pix and everything. - If you can't check your email down there, let me know and I'll PM it over.
  11. You're too kind Phil!........I've got em on my outboard.........awesome way to spot other board members on the water.:-) - Plenty visible from a distance, but not tacky or flashy.;-)
  12. Holy moly!......that's a nice fish.......I can't imagine what she'd look like if she wasnt spawned out?
  13. That stinks RS; sorry to hear about that crap. If I was local, I'd be a lookin' out, but I figure bumping this thread up and keeping it fresh can help from a distance. - As a side note; I saw you mentioned a td-pro spinning rod. If the time comes to replace it; the prior model Daiwa Procyon spinning rod is the TD-Pro. Looks, feels and has the same action as the TD from bps. And they can be found affordably online.......it took much searching/research to figure that out when I broke my only TD a couple years ago.:-(
  14. Beauty fish, and great report. That pic is just fine. :-)
  15. Jason should be along soon; I'm curious on this myself. - I know typically black/blue seem to be common night colors; but the times I night fished at the rock; there was a crazy spinnerbait bite going on where color made no difference.......so I can't comment.:-(
  16. - Hahaha!.......you dirty dawg!.......that gave me a chuckle here in our work meeting.:-P
  17. Aw man!.......I set the DVR to record the show, go back to watch, and nothing there. Apparently we don't even GET the outdoor channel!:-( - Any chance there's a place we can stream it or watch it online?(YouTube?)
  18. Way to give back with the good report!:-).......always a great read when some of us can't get on the water for a while.
  19. Nice fish pix.......funny t-shirt too!(haha)
  20. Congrats too Jason, Always cool to see these results.:-) - Not sure if this has been asked; but this time of year; do you night guys fish tourneys during the day too?.......able to weigh similar sized sacks? - (I hope this question doesn't come off sounding strange?:-)
  21. I'm with yah mike; common courtesy is at a premium these days.:-(........personally, I have the utmost respect and admiration of the guys in kayaks/canoes. When I'm fishing in my bassboat, I always give them a wide birth; (and actually welcome them over) and love to chat it up with them. - I was fortunate to fish out of a canoe in my youth and absolutely LOVED it!.......it has me thinking about a kayak these days for our smaller lakes, closer to home. The ultimate in stealth fishing. - Way too many boat owners out there with more money than sense.:-( - And......Sadly....... it's not a crime to be an a$$hole.......but it should be!
  22. - Yup, Mine shows that too; then Friday indicates the Table Rock episode......so it may be worth taping the series for a couple weeks so ya'll don't miss it. Just in case the menu is incorrect.:-)
  23. Awesome report TRL!.......sounds like a great weekend.:-) - I'll have to look into that gy pond scum color. I wasn't familiar with it until you mentioned it, so I looked it up online........mmmm........looks yummy!:-)
  24. A bit off topic; but If you have a smartphone, the Navionics app is very impressive for the price.:-)
  25. Thanks for the heads up quill!:-) - Speaking of TW......they had their Seguar Tatsu on sale for ten dollars off a few months ago. I've heard nothing but great things about it; and since I only use it as a leader; my buddy and I split a spool.......just to try it out. - I will have to say; that stuff is nothing short of amazing!.......VERY supple for Fluoro, no memory and very strong. (6lb test) Worth every penny. I'm very impressed!.......although.......I LOVE seguars Invisx and abrazx......the Tatsu is pretty awesome too!........they've yet to do wrong in my book!:-)
