We didn't set any records but it was a bunch of fun. I love just working a JB through cedars or just above them. Had my line jump with some slack in it and when I tried to lean into them I got nothing but air/water. Might have been a biggun' suck it in and spit it out before dummy me could get a hook in her or even knew what had happened. As far as our Mizzou, Sterk said he has narrowed down the coaching search down to 10-12 candidates. Hoping to hire someone before the final four starts. Tom Crean from Indiana is creating some noise but we shall see. Would love to get Buzz Williams from Virginia Tech. On the bright side only one way to go from here.....and that's UP!

Yep, V44 Mackerel. Was a limited run for those weirdos in the North and Northwest that like to troll for lake trout and whatnot. From what I've seen most of the people that own them or sell them come from Oregon and Washington. Guess that is where it was marketed. Lotta fakes now though since it is so easy to replicate that pattern. Easy peasy for a crook/scammer to get a V2 Blue Scale Wart and paint/sharpie some squiqgly lines on both sides and say it's a V44 Mackerel.

Did also throw a Ned Rig some from the bank Saturday after the snow stopped and right before sundown. Tried to catch Quill Magic in a bottle but only managed one 12" kentucky in about 75 yards of shoreline and 30 minutes worth of casting. Did catch some of natures magic though:

Boat needed a new tilt/trim motor so came down Saturday morning to take care of that along with brother, father and a couple of uncles from Bull Shoals that are mechanically inclined, unlike myself. Didn't beat the rain, sleet and snow to Blue Eye by much. Boat didn't get out of the garage and into the water until Sunday at noon. Fished from 12-5 yesterday all within a rifle shot of 86 Park. Had 10 to the boat, half were keepers for about 11 or 12lbs. Had 4 or 5 others pull off or spit it at surface. All came on the jerker and seduced all 3 species (couldn't get the Quill meanmouth special for the TR Slam). Hit main lake points and they were coming to get it from as deep as 10-15 feet down. Best was a 3lb LM and I saw him/her torpedo out of deep boulders and flash on the blue bandit. Called my shot to my brother before the pole started bending. Fun bite yesterday. Was windy and gusty at times but overall was pretty comfortable (new Frabill bibs helped). Pretty decent outing on short notice and a short leash. Water temps ranged from 51 to 52.7. Water clarity I would guess is around 10-12 feet. Some "rock snot" in the area which made it pretty easy to put up the Wart. Probably only saw 10 boats in those 5 hours which made it that much more enjoyable to be out. Will be back down in April for the BBT derby. Good fishin' ahead!

Can't really add much to what dwiebenga and Dave said. Craw patterns are all you need for TR, no need to stray. RK's need no upgrades and are good to go out of the pack. They come standard with Gammy trebles. Warts on the other hand need better hooks. Not a big VMC (stock hooks on the Wart) guy so I put some Owner stingers on them size 5. Only color I will add to is the V209 in the Wart (Natural Red Craw). It's my favorite color. Rapala of course screwed the pooch on it with their rendition of the 209 but it still works fine. IF you REALLY feel like being "frisky" you can drop about $50+ on a Pre-Rap V209. I'll add that if you aren't accustomed to cranking you MUST be ticking bottom to get bit. If you aren't grinding, you ain't catchin'. This of course lends it's to getting hung up more..... ......Thus brings me to my last point....get you a lure retriever. Will pay for itself within the first hour of you cranking on TR. I highly recommend getting the David Fritz model that Lew's now reintroduced on the market last year. I have the same one (old blue original) that I've had since the mid 90s. I have it on a retractable dog leash with the metal clip epoxied shut on it. It never leaves my tacklebox/boat. http://www.lews.com/acc-getrbacklureretrieve.php

OA One Bass Tournament - April 22nd, Eagle Rock COE park
abkeenan replied to Quillback's topic in Table Rock Lake
Have BIL's wedding that weekend. Bummer. -
Funny when they land right side up how they are hard to see. I don't even have vision issues and it happens to me.
-
I'd rather have a sleeve of those than ANOTHER TW logo sticker.

You mean kids aren't into a pregnant Beyonce performing while looking ready to pop? Color me shocked.

I bet you do all your shopping on Amazon???

Been a while since we've had our token democrat on the boards. Where you been hiding the last few months buddy? Went into a self induced coma after the election?Or the travel ban leave you stranded in a desert somewhere with no lakes to fish and report on? Good to see you back either way.

Baptism by fire here in the OA TR Forum. All the bashing and ribbing is just terms of endearment round these parts. Par for the course.....I know how much you like golf references.

Everything in Kansas is flat, we wouldn't expect you to understand slopes.

100% true. We fish quite a bit on the bank in front of our house in Beardsley. After dinner or taking a break from cleaning up the yard will just walk the bank for an hour or so. Dragging stuff uphill just snags more and like Dave said you can put the cranks away. Get a lot more bites on the drop casting from the bank because you are throwing right on top of them in that TR sweet spot of 20-30 ft.

Stacy just missing the cut @ 15. Some good anglers not even close to making the cut like Elites: Snowden, Clausen, Short, Biffle and Feider. Watson also a little surprising @ 62. What happened to Feider who blanked today? Wonder if he had some sort of issue that kept him from fishing.
-
Yep. Solid bag.
-
You kidding? BASS can barely get their live feeds to work for the Elite series much less have good coverage of the small time Opens and whatnot.
-
Two Caddyshack quotes/posts in one day! Must be nearing golf season!
-
Guys from Kansas probably.

I'd be more concerned about the radical blue ideas you are letting fester in your own home. Letting your son stray towards the path of evil.....becoming a full blown Jayhawk fan. I'd imagine you need to have a similar talk as this with "net monkey".
