  1. There is already a turkey finding plenty of bass near Kimberling.
  2. I pay him in Jack's Links jerky to patrol Beardsley and is yet another one of my creek defense systems. He must have gotten disoriented and washed upriver with all this rain. Gonna have to dock him a weeks beef snacks pay now the dumb fury animal.
  3. Yep. Nice fat and thick tail. Been eating good. Thanks for the report.
  4. I thought I remembered someone here was saying that a place in the Table Rock area paid for old battery cores? Like $10 or $15 a core. We have quite a few old batteries just laying around our property (grandpa was a pack rat, re-purposer type and nothing went to waste in his eyes). Grandmother was wanting to get rid of them and figured I'd ask you guys. Any $ for them for my grandma would be great but just getting rid of them would be great too. Thanks in advance, Brett
  5. Dang RPS. Just posted in the other thread that I hoped your lost topwater wasn't a custom top dollar. Looks like it was....that stinks.
  6. If she's big enough to take my topwater bait from me I'll gladly let her have it. Hope it wasn't one of your TH custom painted Top Dollars.
  7. The older I get the more I am learning this to be true. I have a few buddies that whoop my butt who are 260 off the tee but straight as an arrow and consistent. I am basically the "Tin Cup" of the group. I always go for it. I will have a blowup hole because I am going for an 250 yard 3 wood to try to eagle a par 5. When my body breaks down and says you can't hit it 300 yards anymore maybe my brain will finally listen.
  8. Ya. I typically drive right at 300 and when I get into one around 330. My irons are also a club or two up from most of my friends. When I hit my 64 degree like 60-70 yards people are like WTF. But it works for me.
  9. They got caught 10 miles from where they launched on LOZ when the announcement was made that it was a NO WAKE ZONE lake wide. They are still idling back and couldn't make it to work today.
  10. I'm long off the tee so in a typical round I have pretty many 30-60 yard shots on par 4's and 5's. When I back off a sand wedge or gap wedge for whatever reason I just suck. I have to give a max swing to be worth a crap and that goes pretty much for every club I have in the bag. I have lots of friends that when they go to a iron shot say something like "I'm just going to hit a light 7" instead of a full 8. I just can't do that for whatever reason hence the 64 degree lob wedge just works for me. I make it rain with that thing from 70 yards and in.
  11. My 64 degree Cleveland is my GO TO!
  12. What are you talking about? Last time Gov. Nixon issued a request it all went so well for Missouri and it's citizens. Party cove could turn into "Riot Cove" or "Protest Party Cove". Hard to burn water down though....although with LOZ current water toxicity it could be possible.
  13. Yep. Can you even imagine? Wouldn't want that job. Or being a staff member in the local ER's that are going to have the non-compliant heck with it 4th of July wake boarders, skiers and tubers impaled by all sorts of floating debris. Gonna be a lot of drunk angry men and women at the lakeside bars taking out their frustration with what mother nature has done this year.
  14. http://fox2now.com/2015/07/02/lake-of-the-ozarks-may-be-a-no-wake-zone-this-weekend/ No wake zone issued lake wide on LOZ this weekend??? Good luck with that! Potentially could lift it on Saturday if weather cooperates....which it is looking like it won't. Going to be a nightmare for dock/property owners, water patrol and the hooligans that spend their annual paycheck on gas for their 35 foot Fountains, Bajas and Scarabs that they sold a kidney for. On the flip side the marine mechanics will probably be able to retire at the end of the year on the business they will get on lower unit repairs and likewise for the hull/fiberglass guys.
  15. Eh. I don't think so with this one. Like Quill said it's basically a Spook/Rover/Sexy Dawg/Sammy/Vixen body with a Jitterbug cupped mouth. I bet this is a winner. I would like to think it would cast a whole heck of a lot better than the old Jitterbugs with all the casting systems in baits today. Also, it really would be an easy bait for kids or adults new to fishing that just want to cast and reel it on back. Super simple and for that reason I think this could be a good bait to have in the box. One other thing is that I think Babler had some success last year on Jitterbugs for those "not so skilled" clients of his and he did well with it. But he said that some of the fish just ate it to their a$$ which made it somewhat dangerous for the health of fish. This being a bigger bait shouldn't have that issue.
  16. Nice largie, nice report, nice trout......buff.
  17. I can kind of justify paying higher prices on topwater because the likely hood of losing one is pretty slim unlike cranks/soft plastics/etc. Only way you lose one is if a fish takes it, you bang it on a rock or dock on a cast or the person in the back of the boat throws it 30 yards up into a tree. In 20+ years I think I've only lost one spook to a fish and one redfin that cracked on impact hitting a dock cable.
  18. I mean do you just sprinkle meth out the window as you drive on the highways and back roads of Arkansas too? A real enabler you are Quill. I will probably have to have this....you know....just in case I have a kid or my wife in the boat and they need an easy to use topwater where they just reel it in.
  19. I don't doubt that at all. SPRO had the exactly same issue with early run McSticks and I had a few that leaked, filled with water and sank. Sent them back and they sent replacements + extras. Another reason I love SPRO aside from having great baits.
  20. Son of a......
  21. I love SPRO and there are lots of baits that have their niche or purpose but it's hard to beat just the old stand bye Wiggle Wart from grinding bottom from 5-8 feet for $4 bucks. I refrained from getting any Rock Crawlers and am doing really well with my 12 steps to free myself from my bait hoarding addiction. Well kinda. I still have relapses from time to time.
  22. Yep. Thanks for posting Jason. Always good to see some of the weights that the night guys are bringing to the scales to get an idea on how the night fishing is going. Thanks again.
  23. Maybe we can have a sub forum in the Table Rock forum for the C&R guys with a special password code from Phil to get in so we can post reports and pics without prying eyes? The "Free Bass Masons" of Ozark Anglers if you will. Very hush hush, elitist and custom black jersey robes with OA logo embroidery for it's exclusive members.
  24. While I certainly a believe that the government needs to be "hands off" in most aspects of life.....this one I have to agree with CNR. Why do you need a license to operate most potentially deadly machinery/automobiles/planes/etc yet any idiot can just hop in a boat/watercraft and do as they please? Really makes NO SENSE at all. I would be all for some sort of boating safety course of some sort into order to get certified to drive a boat. Even if it was a one day 4 hour seminar or course that would be better than the current ABSOLUTELY NO EDUCATION of the boat operators. Heck charge $10 fee to take the course and put that money back into maintaining COE ramps and whatnot since they seem to have an issue with funding these days and closing them at random.
  25. I never get any complaints at the ramp for being a slow poke when using this technique.
