Weatherpeople, no, sorry, meteorologists, no, my mistake, storm experts DR (so and so, insert any name), seem to be becoming "personalities," like what is happening, or has happened with hot, new, forward thinking chefs. It is no longer about letting us know what the weather will be like today. No, that would diminish their importance. Now, their predictions for any weather event, rain, snow, hot, stormy, dry, whatever, in any given area, now, affects MILLIONS of people. SO THEY ARE ON TOP OF THINGS. A cold front no longer passes through an area with the possibility of rain. No sirree. This rain covers a, for example, a large portion of the upper Ohio Valley, and could affect MILLIONS of people. So, stayed tuned. Because these forecasters have rolled up their sleeves and, for our benefit, have started to name individual storm systems. The lives of MILLIONS of Americans are at stake. Weather is no joke people. Meanwhile, back at the ranch in St. Louis, with local weather persons in a lather about epic rain, starting this afternoon, nothing happened. As usual, the dome of high pressure over St Louis broke up the first "assault." I'm sure some odd county got drenched with a quarter inch. But. There's always tomorrow. Remain vigilant.

Panko pan sautéed chicken: good Sesame saffron rice: good Pan roast green beans with lemon oil and balsamic vinegar: good All three together on the same plate: not so good Unharmonious. Too many competing flavors that don't make sense together. Not every ingredient needs to be "cheffed " to death. One of the reasons martinis and Manhattans are so perfect.

Hoosiers, water, desolate fishing area with power lines above? Is this The Simpsons?

Gavin, all that prep for paella and you garnish with curly parsley, not Italian flat leaf!? I'm afraid that you might lose points on that one brother. However, you do gain points for drugging and rocking, albeit in the past.

I am not on Facebook, and I don't necessarily consider myself naive, but, maybe, or obviously, I am. Completely unaware of Facebook postings of exact spots to fish. Hmm. Troublesome to say the least. Still think the high water was and is detrimental in the short term, but, new evidence coming in.. One of, if not THE, premier trout sections in Missouri. Is it under fire? Being overused? It is a public stream nevertheless. Questions, questions. No answers.

Great fish. People who get out and do it usually reap the rewards. Splendid. I'll .. just..sit here...and.. type ....!!$$$***>...again...jealousy..overwhelming...

How far down did you go, and did the bite stop at a certain point? I've heard the water is still somewhat murky (for the White). So many conflicting reports. Just interested to know about the bite after such prolonged high water at the wrong time. BTW, when I was down around Feb 8, still mega water, the lure of choice was a white zig (or approximation, head was painted) jig, and not a jerkbait. Go figure.

It was some slightly old home made bread, and the crust became too crusty after toasting and separated from the continent. So I trimmed it for a better picture and/or tableau. I will say, however, it was delicious because of the ingredients. European butter, sea salt, Tellicherry pepper, local cage free eggs and my bread. Luxurious in its simplicity. Upon further review, it does look institutional and "non lethal" doesn't it? Funny. Good call. Sorry, I'm compelled.. Joe likes his toast trimmed... Ahem. Let's leave my cousin out of it.

Yeah, no dung? Very few fish. Huh. With multiple fishermen. Hmm. What do I know, anyhow?

Bacon is from a pork belly. Anything else, is not bacon. Regardless of cooking or smoking or curing method or butchering or taste. You have strips of a shoulder, which is not bacon. While your strips may be tasty, it is not bacon. Please refrain from calling your butt strips "bacon." Because it is an insult to bacon. And makes the rest of the pork butt sad.

What color senko should I get? What's a safe bet?
joeD replied to tylerupton's topic in General Angling Discussion
Not one person asked where you will be fishing your senko. Which means you and your question are secondary to our opinions. Which have no consensus. Which means color is meaningless. If it was, then there would be only one or two colors, right? Right. Buy white. Buy green. Then go fishing as much as possible. -
March April May.June July Aug September. Baseball isn't even over yet. Hockey? Oh, that's over in June.

Apparently I don't know how to fish for them. Just relating my recent experience for Fishingmill.

Getting back to the Current and fishingmill (you Eleven Point guys don't mind do you?), I think the flood has definitely had a negative affect on fishing, Why, I can only guess. I know for a fact that a friend of mine absolutely slayed them when the water first came up, and was quite murky. But it was the first rise. Since then, nothing. The run below Baptist is completely different, as it resembles more of a beach, what with all the sand that piled in. The water flow and height and appearance seem perfect. But, fishing has been tough. I wasn't even seeing browns chase my lure, let alone hit it. Maybe they gorged on that first rise in December and continued to eat with the high water. Don't know. I do know that something is different, and not in a good way, at least initially. There is sand everywhere.

There's a good looking puddle with some structure (a stick and cheez it box) by my house, grabbing my rod right now....

I know funny Mr smallie. I'm quite offended that you think you can post a Bubbles picture and get away with it.

The only threat Rosburg poses is how quickly he will lose the rest of his hair. On any given day, a crap team will rise up and beat a better team. Happens all the time, every year. It doesn't, and shouldn't, give hope for Mizzou basketball. Remember, THEY ARE ON PROBATION. Which, in this day and age, is ridiculous. You have to be absolutely stupid to get caught in such a permissive atmosphere. Anyway, good luck Kim Anderson. He'll need it. This is about winning, not teaching kids proper technique on boxing out and where to find the cafeteria.

People neglect to mention that the citizens served by the MSD Fenton plant have had no interruption in their ability to have and use clean drinking water. Your quality of life has not suffered, and your weeping for an environmental destruction that, really, has not occurred, is obviously, premature. Fish love poop. And eggs. And semen. It is well documented. Add corn, and it may as well be an excremental carnival for enterprising and forward thinking fish. Who will grow and thrive and eagerly await our baited hooks and nets and arrows and multi pronged plastic imitations.

They shut down the flood gates, but opened up some alternative openings. The cfs is still very strong, but the new water may be putting some color in it, and possibly stirring up the browns. Trust me, I'm jealous of anyone going down in Mid February and fishing 70 degree temperatures. There is no predictability when it comes to the COE. Just because the lake is close to normal pool, doesn't mean they'll necessarily turn off, or ease, the generation. Nice fish pictures. Arms were probably tired at the end of the day.

If your idea of catching a couple rainbows and maybe, maybe, a 15 inch brown in 8 hours of fishing is your idea of success, then, by all means, go get 'em. However, I would advise don't believe everything you hear from those who have a monetary stake in your participation. The water is high, extremely swift, and hard to fish. The fish, I believe, are extremely messed up and/or full, and are reluctant to bite. Anything. Anyone who tells you otherwise is full of it. Why do you think no one is posting recent pictures? Buyer beware.
