  1. I'm sure the Blues most appreciate your steadfast loyalty.
  2. Let's Go Blues!
  3. Thirty six miles is a long way. Even more so for a group. Hopefully you have a shuttle arranged and camping shtuff all sorted out. Long, epic floats generally lead to more paddling, and less fishing, unless you have days upon days at your leisurely disposal. Keep your your fishing tackle simple and general for more casting and less fussing.

    Faith Renewed

Good, clean fun at the local fishing access. They just get it to read the articles.
  5. Thanks fellas for your support.
  6. I would prefer not to.
  7. Why does your desire to know supersede my reluctance to reveal? Am I under some obligation to answer your question? No reason to get pissy. I'm Bartleby the Scrivner: "I'd prefer not to."
  8. I've only been going to this stream for four years, having been introduced to it through my friend, who has fished this area for decades, without a missed year. So, I feel it's not my place to name this stream in a public forum. It is not unknown, but it is off the radar enough and somewhat difficult to fish, that it keeps its special nature.
  9. Little black stonefly with plastic bead dropper. Hit mostly the bead, which is afixed a couple inches above the hook.
  10. A few nice fish from last week in the Lower Peninsula. Bragging? Of course. This is a fishing forum, right?

    The Masters

When Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player die, who will be the ceremonial golfers to start the tournament? Really. Can you name anyone, besides Tiger Woods, who have had the same impact on the game? Don't give me players who are older. It's not the same. Sure, Bernhard Langer and Fred Couples are older, competitive golfers. But that's it. They have staying power and skill, but, nothing above that. We have created a skillful, yet bland, white panted, corporate, golf tour, devoid of any personality. I mean, look at those self important, conservative suited talking douche bags expostulating on ESPN and the Golf Channel. Their, white, friendly, innocuous banter in a southern bigoted club is absolutely repulsive. War atrocities get less coverage. Advertisers and the media are conjoined into telling us consumers that they stand by "us" and our "individuality," yet, when anyone, a golfer in this case, displays any sort of "individuality," they are immediately dismissed and painted as some societal malcontent. Like Apple. You are free, as long as you abide by our rules. Golf has no greats anymore. Tiger was great. No one playing today will even come close to his achievements. The racists at the Masters would not even consider TW teeing off to start the Masters. What then? Let's put our best suit on and talk about it. No silly, your friend of color is not welcome here. As if. FORE!
  12. Good on you Mr Midwest.
  13. Why? We always think that we are our "better" selves right now, and not before. Society has drilled into our humanity that the past is some aberration, and the here and now is the "real" life. Our past mistakes make us "better " now. Nonsense. You know as well as I do that you (we) were better when we were younger and skinnier and unmarried and happy.
  14. Deep breaths. Easy. Lets let things play out. Okay. Man, this could be AWESOME!
  15. So, how about a report from moturkey?
  16. I like to golf. The fact that there are others better than me, never interferes with my enjoyment. Al, you are suffering from advanced age and vanity. Where is it written that catching the most and the biggest is the apogee of fishing success? That having the most money and being famous is worth striving for. Life judged by numbers. Then we are surely lost.
  17. I would guess pretty much zero. But , it's obvious you're enamored with this lure. So, throw it.
  18. Fishing in Mexico...yawn. ??

    What's Cooking?

    Ok
  20. Why the attention to Converse All Stars? A Goodwill purchase is fine, yet, in fact, really shouldn't be mentioned, let alone being proud of, from a white male who can afford a Mexican vacation and guided fishing trip. It would be better if you had nice flat boots and NOT call attention to them. Reverse elitism is obviously a bugaboo of mine. However, you are fishing, which trumps all. Party On Mr Three.
  21. Mr Every went from asking etiquette advise in the park due to his ignorance and greenness, aw shucks, to seasoned advice, jigs and brassies. Learned quickly , apparently.
  22. HogWally: You should catch a nice fish, maybe we'll end up talking about Oprah Winfrey.
  23. Porter hasn't played a minute yet. I admit, however, that I was wrong with my predictable skepticism. Also, and here's the thing that hasn't been mentioned or been around the BB program: Hope and a good measure of excitement. That alone is worth a lot to us fans and the university itself.
  24. ...and then another NCAA investigation to further tarnish Mizzou. We are easy pickin's . Porter Jr will come at a steep price.
  25. Chuck Barris was in on the joke. Doesn't make him a genius, as some misguided revisionists want you to believe.
