  1. I can't believe I've read this entire thread. GETFISHED!!!
  2. Well I have to agree that it's all about money. If it still works then take off one man and try it again. Keep doing this until it doesn't work then put one man back on. Then when you have high water conditions like last yeat the COE is not prepared to handle it so they trudge along making repairs while we fidget . GETFISHED !!!
  3. Well, I know how I feel about it also. GETFISHED !!!

  11. Yes it seems like to enjoy our passion we must "beat up" the fish. (just kidding). I realize FLW is not going to fish Sat. thru Tues. and don't expect them to. I'm just assuming Heartland requested the permits/dates before FLW. Maybe not. It doesn't make any sense for Heartland to request the same weekend that FLW already has been given. If I were going to conduct a tourney on the scale of a Heartland I would not request the same weekend as an event the size of an FLW tourney on the same lake. Especially if I knew they were having two competition days directly prior to my first day. This may be the result of designation by whoever approves the permits and have nothing to do with the tourney circuit managers, Heartland or FLW. It seems like there are two other reasons for separate weekends besides the legitimate reasons Heartland may have. 1) Stimilus to the local economy over separate weekends would in my opinion be greater overall. This will prove itself in the possibility the events are cancelled for safety/weather reasons. I realize this is not likely to happen, but if it did chances are good that at least one event would produce some economic benefit for the community. 2) Safety should always be given the opportunity to err on the side of caution and never be put on the back burner. I realize the lake is capable probably of handling two events of this size simultaneously but is it really necessary? Then last but not least is the possibility that FLW might have requested this date in their own self interest with knowledge that Heartland was already authorized on this date. I'm not saying this is what happened, only perusing a list of maybes. This is not a possibility that is easy to accept yet it is a possibility nonetheless. I think it is generally accepted that in a four day tourney the heaviest weighins on average are the first two days so based on that FLW would not need to be threatened by Heartland coming in on FLW's third day. These are just my opinions however permeated with assumptions they may be and you know what they say about assumptions. I will be fishing Heartland and really I hope to be in that attitude of gratitude because I have much to be thankful for. Steve GETFISHED !!!
  12. Yea, me too. Too bad FLW wasn't required to take dates of March 14,15,16,and17 instead of the ones they got. I think it kinda sucks for the Heartland guys. GETFISHED !!!
  13. Yes and it's just the beginning of the season. Exactly what is the definition of a no-brainer anyway?
  14. I just realized tonight that Heartland is fishing out of Ahoy's March 14 and 15 and FLW is going out of State park March 12-15. That doesn't make any sense to me. I sure would like to hear the rationale for that one! GETFISHED !!!
  15. I got mine for 09 in the mail as a christmas present from a good friend in Hollister. Sweeeeeeeetttt!!!!!!!!!! He must have read this thread. I'm all set for next year but for now, just lurking! GETFISHED !!!
  16. Ditto on the good news! Glad to hear Donna is recovering and no problems. I use her as my example to point to when trying to encourage my wife to get back into the fishing with me. This time of year helps me to appreciate the blessings of a beneficient Creator, our marvelous health care abilities, and last but not least is this forum to which I am grateful. I have received much, thanks GETFISHED !!!
  17. Yes that helps me too. Thanks. I had a hunch that's what Bill was talking about but wasn't sure. I mentioned to Phil a while back that the term was not in the glossary or index. I never checked back to see if he got it inserted or not. GETFISHED !!!

  22. Well , If memory serves me right you have to remove the screws underneath the head unit. Remove the top cover housing from the head unit. think there are two gears or cogs in there . You need to put your motor down if you can while it's on the trailer. Next remove gently one of those little gears. I think the small one is the one. Just slide it up enough to clear the other gear. You should be able to turn the armature (foot) so that the prop is in the rear, like it would be if you were going straight forward. Next you should be able to move the footpedal to the position you want. In this case I usually position it like you described I think, half way forward and half way back so that it's in the middle or flat. Does that make any sense? Carfully slip the small gear back in place and that should fix it. Remember to set your directional arrow indicator properly before you set the housing for the head unit back in place. I hope I'm giving you good info. GETFISHED !!!
