  1. I am goin to go up tomarow and run some lines and jugs on truman try to catch the new missouri record probley not but one never knows what might come up when you check your lines.
  2. below truman is probley the best place in the state for bank fishing catfish. I have the best luck with shad if you dont have a good way to keep them alive bring a cooler of ice and let them die on the ice so they stay fresh. I use 15 ft long rods fishing otherwise be prepaired to lose alot of lead hanging up on rocks. I bought some cheap 15 ft rods at the fleamarket across 65 from walmart for I believe $27 havent had any trouble with them. Be sure to check the fishing regs from the no fishing zone down to the no boating zone you can olny have 4 catfish and 1 can be over 24 inches .
  3. was any water running through the dam or does it matter I have never fished there but I been wanting to all year and havent made it yet.
  4. I dont know how they work in very fast water bot in a hole with a little current they work good baited with bread or crackers I even use bacon sometimes.
  5. Agents use to dress up in waders and go fishing at Bennet Spring and still might I dont know. Violaters would be doing their thing and the next thing they were being lead to the bank and ticketed by someone they thought was another fisherman. If something like that happend word would get around and alot of violaters would stop purpously breaking the laws .
  6. you know it is hot when you see something like that looked alot like my kids olny with more hair.
  7. I seen some people floating above them not many fish came up like that. there was 3 of us in the boat all three of us had a fish on as we went past a boat drifting so they started trolling to. we cought alot of smaller fish but it was fun using 10 to 17 ft deep divers wit a roostertail trailing all colors worked good. pulled in a few with 2 fish and even 1 fish and a fishing pole. around O3 ware we fished
  8. all I have ever read is stop them they clogg water intakes in boats and burn up the engin. I found some weird looking shells atached to my boat trailer about the size of my pinkey fingernail on my old boat trailer they grew all in rowes atached to the wire and frame and tail lights probley 100 of them the last year it was in the water the olny place it had been was below the dam at tunnel dam. I dont know if it was zebras or what they were they wasent striped like pictures of zebra muscels but they were all dried up too so I dont know tunnel dam is olny 13 or so miles above backwaters of LOZ.
  9. trolled from 7 am to 10am cought someware around 50 whites and a few small hybrids in 10 to 15 ft water after the whites slowed down we went to the dam area with shad to 50 ft water and pulled out 12 6lb white cat and 8 channels & several small fish fishing strait down if you wasent on the bottom you wouldent get a bite alot of junk on the bottom to get hung on after the 40 acer log jam with last years flood.
  10. I dont care if the deer stay clear of the fence I just like them to stay clear of their tree stands and food plots I do a little tresspassing on them to fix them up maby that makes me no better than them but I never thought I was better than anyone else anyway. but that is a good Idea I may start cyote hunting I see them and crowes haning all over fences around here and crowes to one of their stands is 50 yards from the fence and a few 60 deg. days in november would make a good stinch on a hunter with a north wind. IT WILL BE GREAT!!! this has been going on for 2 years now and it cost me $1500 plus time . At $100 of fun a year 13 more years I will call it even.
  11. I been down that road before I suckes when it happens to. I grew up on 160 acers and a almost land locked 40 sold on one side that had been owed by the same people way before I was around and the fence was bad and a few of our cattle would go over on ocasion and this 40 was a good cornfield 30 years ago and now ceaders and brush hads overtaken the place and the fence you cant hardly walk through it bougt for hunting and they wanted the cows to stay out so we dozed the fence and put up a new one and these people wouldent pay for anything absolutle refuesed wouldent even help help build the fence pretty sorry of them . Then to top that off they painted every other post purple and put up no tresspassing sines on a fence they wouldent even help bulid or anything and put the sines on my side of the fence I know they walked on my property to do all of this. Now my favorite thing to do is spray Plot Saver all around tree stands and food plots and hair clippings and anything else that might keep the deer off of their tree stands a week before season just to be a BIG horses A--- just like them and it is worth a few bucks for the plot saver and a hair cut every year. If anyone has any more tricks for deer repelent I would love to test them kind of like MYTH BUSTERS
  12. I am ready for fall to and get this heat out of here it hasent been all that hot but I will be the first to say I cant take the heat so I stay out of the kitchen.
  13. turn north on 5 and go to hwy T or TT not for sure but is one of the two about 7 miles give or take a few go right about a mile will be on left
  14. that is a good stretch of river I have never went from hazelgreen to the 133 I put in at the 133 and go up a few miles and fish my way back down I cought alot of smallmouth earley this year and have olny cought maby 5 in the last 6 weeks not very good. but lots that of big goggleeye in the river this year. the one thing I do wish people would do is take their limb lines out of the water when not in use that one hole of water with the rock bluff about 2 miles above the 133 is full of limb lines and alot of the hooks are 2 and 3 feet out of the water so I know they are not using them I run lines myself and always run the max number of hooks and and when I leave so do my lines all of them.
  15. the Osage Fork has a special regulation from Orla to the Gasconade 8in on goggeleye 15in on blackbass olny 1 may be a smallmouth that would be a good start on a statewide regulation the olny problem would be the spotted bass 12 in is good for them but more people than you think can not tell the diffrence between spots and largmouth . have to do a little euducating on the diffrences but if a person is not sure they should reliese the fish in question anyway.
  16. I found 2in powerbait grubs PUMPKINSEED color woork almost good as live bait last weekend and I can never catch anything on artificial bait but them worked good as anything I ever used with 1/8oz jighead . we probley cought around 100 goggeleye from 3in to 9in and olny fished on 2 snags lots of fish in the rivers this year.
  17. ware does the Meramec river go I dont know any thig about it other than just heard of it .does it feed directly to the missouri river or does it go to another watershed before entering the missouri or mississippi rivers.
  18. I thought a person could gather bait I have never read anything in the wildlife code about it except limits and methods and usually if it is not in there I dont worry about it .
  19. I have never heard that it was illeagal to get bait out of the niangua river havent read any thing about it in the wildlife code.
  20. I eat fish all the time love them. I dont eat bass dont really like them I eat crappie goggleeye walleye whitebass catfish suckers . I believe in leingh limits and hardley ever keep a fish that just meets the minimum leingth if someone wants to eat a bass eat it if you want to releas it release it I do. I do a little bass fishing not alot but slot limits are a great thing I think anyway. every person has his/her owne degre of sportsmanship eatem/release them neither is wrong as long as it is done leagle and that does mean 2 limits in possesion of fish cought in state waters no sence in keeping 400 fish in your frezer for 2 years and throw them away save enought to have a fish fry or two and when you get low replinish your inventory.
  21. looks like you know your stuff taxidermist I cought a 8 lb large Mmouth few years ago and took it to a guy and the fish form was good but needed to learn how to paint it went from green strait to white with flat colors. My brother and I use a guy in Stoutland Mo. now he does a super awsome job and uses them UV paints and my fish looks like you just pulled it out of the water. I took him a bigger one in May of this year and my brother has had a couple of crappie done every fish I seen him do look like real fish and not some decoration you bought from Wal Mart and I bet with all the detail you discribed in your post yours look great to.
  22. went back to 133 yesterday fished all night no luck on the catfish dont know where the fish go after the spawn but we sure dident have any luck. Had a big full moon may be some of the problem. Did catch a few goggleye yesterday afternoon.
  23. my wife wants to go floating this weekend I offerd to take her to the gasconade from Hazelgreen to 133 in my jet boat or I have a 14 ft flatbottom. but she declined the offer and making me take her to Ft Niangua and float in that mess with all them people. had to do the same float last year so no fishing for me I am just going to bring a big cooler of beer and make the best of it. I will take the short trip and paddel fast and maby make the gasconade before dark run a few trot lines
  24. I make some beer and wine but dont like it has the same taste of the stuff you buy at the springfield brew co. it cost around $30 to make 5 gollon the wine is good it cost about the same money to make 5 gallon of it .
  25. I dont think it is the best thing to happen to Missouri . What to do now find a diffrent brand and put 6000 people out of work or just act like it never happend drink up and be happy about it.
