  1. In before Champ188 makes a comment about how he wishes the guy would have killed more of them.
  2. I've never worked with cordura. I did make a blind out of some heavy canvas one time that I pop riveted together since I couldn't sew it. It worked great.
  3. I have one. I think it's a goosebuster. It's my favorite out of about 9 layout blinds that I own. All of Rogers blinds are usually just rebranded Avery or FA blinds. I'm pretty sure the one I have is an old Avery M2 with rogers tags on it. To be honest, it's just my favorite because it came with a snow cover at a great price and I like the size of it. It has pins and I hate them. They will wear a hole right through my flesh in the palm of my hand. I usually take a drill bit and open the hole up just a little on blinds that use pins.
  4. Don't let that slow you down, Matt Holder. They'll start being on the lookout when you start volleying.
  5. Blind hog my butt. I've seen your collection. Nice Deer Marty! Love the forked brow.
  6. Well said.
  7. I keep reading it for the drama. It's like a fishing soap opera. ... The old and the fishless.
  8. Proud to know you Buddy. Good going.
  9. Cool. Thanks. I need to order a few copies. would make a nice gift for that special waterfowler in your life this Christmas.
  10. Did you read it Chief? I'm curious if this is the book that Duckydoty contributed to. I know Jeff Churan was writing the book, but don't know if he was writing more than one.
  11. They are very pretty. They will probably make you very happy when you look at them shining in the morning sun. In the end, that's really all that matters anyway-that you are happy with your purchase.
  12. It's amusing to me that when Black Bass fisherman discover an age old technique or lure, their entire culture touts it as the newly discovered next big thing. umbrella rigs as A rigs, crawler on a jig head as ned rigs, Jig under a bobber is a float and fly, and now bottom finder rigs being called powershots. I saw an article on Bassmaster.com the other day where Iaconelli was touting an inline spinner as his secret fall bait. LOL and SMH.
  13. Early to where? One of my best friends is sitting 100 miles North of Regina, SK. His group has shot 691 birds in the last 6 days. Says they are 50% juvies.
  14. I wasn't kidding. It has nothing to do with the type of water you are hunting, be it open water or marsh. It is what type of pattern you are hunting. If birds are coming to where you are sitting. Less is more as far as decoys are concerned. If you are going to sit somewhere along the flight path and hope to convince birds to decoy, more decoys are a benefit. This applies to hunting marsh, lake, river, field, whatever.
  15. So, if we could step away from all this home invasion BS, I'd like to submit the following video, from CNN and Anderson Cooper no less, discussing the merits of AR style rifles for Hog hunting. Watch, dismiss, whatever.......
  16. True. the waterfowling world's equivalent of "all hat, no cattle" Pay more attention to the guy with 3 dozen G&H swivel heads that tells you he's owned them for 35 years and it's all he's ever needed.
  17. Did anyone else think it was Cousin Eddie with panty hose over his face? I hope not. Hard times for Randy Quaid, comedic genius, if so.
  18. Well, get it back on track. What times are we living in, Joe? Hate is a strong word. I dislike many people and I like many people, but off the top of my head I can't think of one person I hate. I think most of the hateful people I know truly hate themselves more than they hate others, it just comes across as outward hate when really it's inward. De-railed? What were you saying about guns and Cabelas?
  19. Not so fast. If the OA North contingent is planning a field trip I'm inviting myself along. Don't worry about shells. Billethead will let you shoot his all morning. Actually, don't worry about blinds or decoys either. You can use his on that too. Actually, I'm pretty sure last time I hunted with him I left with more gear than I arrived with.
  20. Found it. One of these. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/588486/avery-18-telescoping-decoy-retriever-hook-aluminum-green?srccode=cii_17588969&cpncode=35-254618815-2&ads=&cm_mmc=pf_ci_google-_-pf_ci_google-_-pf_ci_google-_-pf_ci_google
  21. Now you sound like me. I measure success each season by how many times I have to put on waders. I think I might have went all last season without donning a pair, but I hunted with Billethead one day and he had a 15' shepard's hook that we used to snag the decoys out of the water. Billethead, where did you say you bought that? It's a handy tool.
  22. A jerk rig is a contraption comprised of an anchor, fastened to a bungee cord, fastened to decoy(s), fastened to string that runs back to the blind. As you pull on the string, the decoys "swim" back and forth putting motion and ripples in your spread. It works awesome on calm shallow ponds when they are glassed over. Here's a video: http://youtu.be/gwCogADkov8
  23. I'd like to lay into a herd of feral hogs with a 20 rd magazine on a AR style rifle. Even better if it was at night with a night vision scope with the use of a suppressor. There's not a better firearm for that type of hunting I'd say.
