I hear ya on the tilt/trim. I didn’t know what it was...and bill just said start it at the bottom and trim it til you can feel it. I still do the same thing he said back it in til the water just barely goes over the fender to load it....still do the same thing...it ain’t rocket science i took it to big m and dropped it in...and have never looked back....we’ve had a lifetime of memories in both boats. They have been a huge part of our family. We’ve had so many vacations with our boat....so many memories...buy one if you can...you won’t regret it....but buy it from someone you trust ✌️

I bought my first boat from bills marine In monett...never drove it...didn’t know anything about bass boats....I was a golfer....but it was an awesome old ranger...gotta great deal on it. 2nd boat...and current boat bought from Phil. Was one of his rentals and it had a blown motor but he disclosed it....and have been happy with the purchase for over 10 years point is....boat purchase is no different than buying anything...know who you’re dealing with...and lessen your chance of getting screwed

I would say most people that expect the grand tour are first time buyers When buying anything...if you don’t trust who you’re buying it from....you should probably run away To wrenches point....and as tommy boy said...I can get a good look at a bulls a$$ by sticking my head up there...but I’d rather take the butchers word for it

Jet Boat Project Needs a Name. CV-19?
wily replied to jdmidwest's topic in General Angling Discussion Archives
I think it’s ok but I’ve seen those little plates that people add to the transom...I assume to cut down on the splash So I’m just curious how far the grate should be away from the transom -

Not mine...maybe Seth’s or someone’s mine has 73 Johnson 25hp jet. It won’t outrun its own smoke -
Jet Boat Project Needs a Name. CV-19?
wily replied to jdmidwest's topic in General Angling Discussion Archives
Mine is spraying a lot...so I adjusted the motor up a bit I know you said start at 22 inches and go up. Mine is close to 23 now...added some 3/4 square tubing. But Now i have the front of the foot Just barely above the bottom of boat. how far is the front of your boot to the back edge of the transom? Mine is about 4.5 inches...not sure if that’s good or too far back. But the angle matches the strake line The river is blown out today so I can’t run it...so I’m excited...thanks -
Nice fish... i hear ya on the lake...usually good fishing but I don’t know how to fish the weeds....and there just seems to be more and more of them. We usually pitch jigs into the tree tops along the creek channels and fence rows The crowd wasn’t a problem For is....it was just us and one other boat. It rained about 2 inches that day...those little creeks running into it were rolling chocolate milk....and I guess dropped the water temp. Was just a bad day....we always put in at the back ramp I thought they said 10 years ago they were going to pave the roads...still haven’t. It’s one of my sons favorite lakes because we caught a bunch of fish over there when he was little. we didn’t go at all last year....I remembered why...when I got home and saw the boat. if I have my way...i won’t go back. Where’d you go? I’d say you Were quite a bit north to get into smallmouth like that? There aren’t big smallmouth in southeast Kansas. About the furthest we stray into Kansas is big hill...I used to fish Pleasanton and lacygne when I was a kid....but that’s been 40 years ago

I wondered...I had the same thing after the super bowl. I think it might have been but not 100% sure

That’s crazy Mitch...I never noticed...you need to add that one to the conspiracy theory post my favorite movie is caddyshack. Oh brother where art thou...is close second. Both movies have a great dialogue
-
Just got home...boat and trailer absolutely filthy...I doubt I go back for a while
-
Son keeps one in the boat....just for fun. But we usually see them in backs of the creeks with water running into them.
-
We played in the rain today...water temp was only 59 rained til 4...then sun came out and blew 20 mph out of the south fishing was tough...I like the lake...and have caught a lot of fish over there but today wasn’t the best...just seems like too much weeds to me anybody else fishing se Kansas?

I haven’t read everything and sorry if this is a duplicate but I think this is pretty clever it’s the end of the world as we know it

I just got home from fishing but there’s lots of forest service camping spots in the arrowhead section...not in bwca...but nearby...some are on rivers. I’d say just head that way...and you’ll find something you like this is just a snapshot...I’ve got other better maps but this came in one of the guide books camping along superior shore would be cool too...big lake...find one of the rivers that run into it and camp along it. Fishing should be good if you time it right
-
You should also check sylvania wilderness in upper peninsula Michigan...we almost went there too. I think it might be perfect for what you’re looking to do...it’s like bwca light
-
You could base camp easily in the bwca....seagull outfitters and others will motor you out and pick you back up ash river isn’t a wade fishing river like around here... ive got quite a few maps and books on bwca I’ll look this evening or maybe tomorrow but I know you could do what you’re wanting to do in the arrowhead region...because I was basically planning to do the same thing until I decided on lake Kabetagoma i didn’t want to work as hard as I think it would’ve required to canoe camp...with wife and two kids. I think I would’ve been bitching and complaining the whole time...plus didn’t want to go without beer for that long pm your email address and I’ll send you some stuff that might help
-
I think it’s semi cool and all...but they fly over every Chiefs game so I don’t know what the big deal is maybe I’m just envious because Joplin wasn’t on the flight plan ✌️

The good camp sites are only accessible by boat...but you can use motor boat unlike the boundary waters There are some camp sites that you could access with a kayak...lost lake is basically straight across from the main public access ...there are a handful of others within a couple miles the coolest way to think of it is the boundary waters that you can use a bass boat i would suggest calling John at sunset resort...he’ll rent you a small cabin.l for the first night...and would take you out and drop you off at your campsite....and then come back and pick you up If he won’t...I promise one of the resorts on ash river trail will. Ya...I’d say you’re confused...i wouldn’t drive 800 miles to plan on sleeping under a bridge ✌️

My dollar an ear corn is getting closer to 5 dollar an ear corn...it’s coming up pretty splotchy....I rushed out and planted it before that big rain a couple weeks ago. Had it all nice and fluffy and that rain spread it out...and beat it down I’m not too worried about the frost...forecast is for 37...we’re further south and west of most every one...so not too worried But we brought the potted plants in tho dang...your grass looks good
-
Sounds like area 71 close to Campbell point...food is pretty awesome. You’ll have an experience in beef when you eat their hamburgers after a long day fishing. It’ll knock you out

I grew up near Richard gebauer AF base...the A10s would fly over all the time...going slow and seemed like they were only a 100 yards in the air. I actually got to fly the flight simulator on base when I was about 14. A friend and me...his dad got us in somehow. I remember we went out on a bombing mission. The machine gyrated and the seat had air bags in it to simulate the movement. I remember I made it out...bombed the target...and I landed but I forgot to pull the brakes...and I crashed off the end of the runway. My buddy crashed or got shot down...I can’t remember. They gave us a printout of our mission...and how we did...stats and such it was pretty cool...would have been 82 or so probably...the Air Force guy called it a million dollar video game

That’s a good point...a guy I used to work with (gale). His son flew f16’s and was temporarily stationed in knob knoster back in the 2000s. I remember gale was real excited one day and said his son was gonna do a flyover at 1015. A bunch of us went outside to watch...they were right on time and gone in a flash. It was cool. Gale was so proud of his son. we had all heard about his son and admired gale so it was really cool

I think it’s a total waste of Money...and veiled military power demonstration

I went to lake of the woods a couple times 20 years ago the first week of June...and Kabetagoma was better fishing and much easier to navigate...much better markings and buoy system
