im 100% opposed to create a lake near crane creek. They have had a plan to create a lake on center creek for 40+ years. They have the ability to pump water out of spring river before it leaves the state of missouri. there are enough lakes to pump out of before making a new lake. Not that im opposed to new fishing opportunities, its just that the govt has the best ability to royally f*&k up good intentions...

Bradley effect is term used about voting opinion polls and election results. In this instance it was the effect of such high poll numbers in support of the candidate, then the candidate actually loses. THe effect term i used was probably racial then i intended it to be. I personally view the effect as a simple gross misrepresentation of polling results according to the election results. Many refer to this effect purely as a racial thing, whereas my intentions was simply a misrepresentation of polling results vs the outcome. The actually bradley effect was based on the Governors Race in California where Tom Bradley. Im unaware of a term that could describe the situtation w/o implicating race as a factor, but mearly the polling numbers are so skewed that dont support the outcome. Generally the populous says something to go along with the general concensous of a wide number of people but behind polling booth doors vote another way.

So as one can see radical change wont solve much, It creates too radical of shifts in equalibrium to fully allow the change that will need to happen. Looking at the economy in its rapid super strong growth, followed is by a market check sometimes matching the raise by fall. The economy will get better, hopefully w/o the govt. And while people shout and rage about greed on wall street or greed in general, and how thats what has destroyed our economy need to realize that w/o a form of greed there would be NO economy, no jobs. And this anti-greed that the obama camp promises by its re-distribution of wealth is the exact opposite of the extreme of greed that some claim to be on wall street now, will do nothing to spur on the enticement of profit that is the very nature of an economy. For those that claim to be vested in the stock market heavily, your profit allowed you to grow your portfolio. your profit will allow you to retire. Your greed put you into stocks and securities that would grow your portfolio. All things in moderation, the bible mentions this. Keeping Fish allowed by law is a legitimate reason..... God gave us the animals and fish to eat.. Its talked about in the bible. those are legitimate. I think what you would like to know what is the true reality or reasoning of keeping fish above a certain legnth. This shall go into more an ethical route. And debating ethics is truely an excercise in futility, because no one will always agree. As a conservationist, my views will likely differ from many. Personally im all for c&r only above fall creek. If i catch a fish, with the full intent on releasing it back to is home, and during the struggle or just prior to release the fish expires. Now under the law i may or may not be able to keep the carcass. So why should i wantonly abandon the carcass when it could be used for food? I would not eat it, but i have family that would, however i could essentially become an outlaw if i were to keep a fish that expired that i legally could not. The reason the fish hang out at the outlets is mainly because of dissolved oxygen. There might be some food but not enough. heck boats running to the cable provide oxygen, just not enough.

water from under the lake has little oxygen. Spillway water will be hotter in temps and warmer water holds less oxygen. Fall stresses the fish enough with temps pushing 60 degrees. Adding a million or more gallons of 80-83 water doesnt help the trout one iota. When the flooding happened in the spring the water was cooler and so was taney.

remember they have to manage beaver lake as well. that lake we never brought down like TR was. If NW arkansas got the rain TR got they might have to emergency dump that lake, and they really cant dump into a near full lake. @ 920 you have 11 ft of water left until top of flood pool, combined with ongoing incoming flows and a dump of beaver you enter water management. 4 inches of rain rose the lake 3-4 feet and we havent gotten all of the drainage to the lake yet. Remember the purpose of the lakes are to generate power and manage flood waters. I just looked at beaver. They are 2.8 feet from going over the top. They got hammered with 5-6 inches. So id expect them to do a fast dump of beaver to ensure they can control that lake.

i really like to use the Cooper Creek Launch that the MDC operates. Its just below lilleys and its free to launch. It has a courtesy dock unlike the ramp at the darn. The ramp is good and wide, lighting at night to help you load or unload. Plenty of parking too. The current isnt as strong as the darn so its slightly easier to trailer IMO. There is a current so just cock your trailer downstream to aide in loading. Personally id not launch a motor boat at the MDC ramp, Cooper Creek is much better. There is another ramp, dont know if its public or not but its between cooper creek and the darn.
