  1. Might as well ask for my social security number. Lol!!! ;-) With crappie being tough this year (for some, I haven't even targeted them much), I doubt you get much info. Area or otherwise. There are some that like to provide all kinds of info however. So stay tuned. ;-)
  2. That island is still there and full of skeg marks. I've got a side image screenshot showing it.
  3. My guess would be the Dr Sonar DVDs. I've got two of them and they are pretty good. Doc is a good fella and always replies to my comments or questions on Facebook. His DVDs are helpful.
  4. Log jumping on Beaver is NOT one my list of things I EVER want to experience. Good tip because I ran from PC to Rocky Branch and back the other night and never saw anything. Scary part is I was full bore most of the trip and could have just as easily hit an underwater log as you did. With the current slowing and generation slowing eventually, things should settle down and fishing should improve (I hope). I got a report last night that said War Eagle looks rough with junk floating everywhere.
  5. They are really coming on strong this year and I've seen a lot more pros switching to them this year. If I were in the market, I'd be researching them as well. Kinda wish I had them. But I was used to Lowrance so I got HDS units when I bought my boat last summer. If I were to do it again, the Garmin would be looked into heavily. While I like the Insight Genesis feature, it's not "changing the game" like I thought it might. But it has shown me some good spots or why fish were always on a few select areas.
  6. Good luck! I heard that lake can be tough any given day. And with high water, I bet it can play a big factor. Seems it has locally on several lakes. Some folks are catching 16lb tournament bags, but us average guys ain't gettin' no where near that. I wanted to go to Fork this year but will probably wait another year or two.
  7. That is an awesome way to go. I can't think of a nicer way to be remembered and in a better place. Fitting words. Thanks for sharing and so sorry for you and Richard's family.
  8. Wouldn't that be "Wacky Ole Ned"? Lol!! What a wack job. He is a wacky dude. He can flat wack em'. When he sees a bass, he sacks him in the mouth. Wacky Ned likes to shimmy shake. Well you get the idea. ;-)
  9. That's because it was stupid. The news has been warning people to avoid floodwaters and Army Corp of Eng. also warned people to use extra caution and avoid fast current. Also to watch for debris in water. There is debris and logs from one end of the lake to the dam. I was at the dam today. Logs and trees in main lake.
  10. Trolling isn't working for me anymore either. Even white bass won't hit a trolled bait in years past, they were like the seagulls on the "Finding Nemo" movie. You couldn't get a trolled bait past them without them hitting it. I honestly think everyone is trolling a lot more on the lake than years past and that pressure may have created some flak. I could be wrong but there is a definite difference and quite noticeable. Also, I see tons of people trolling now where it used to be just pleasure boats and bass anglers.
  11. When I see stuff like that..... All I hear is the music from Jaws. Lol!
  12. Next time... Just PM me the info. Lol!!!! ;-)
  13. Well I was above the bridge over near Coppermine. I looked in a few places. You can always catch bass shallow somewhere on about any lake and Beaver as well. My experience has been most of the smaller fish stay shallow but on certain occasions, the larger ones go shallow too. I was stating where I was on that end of the lake, I didn't see anything shallow including bait. Ain't no way am I one of the best anglers on Beaver. Not even a good tournament angler on Beaver. So I don't compare myself to those who are. I'd like to be, but I'd be completely dishonest by saying anything to the contrary. So my info may not be worth two cents to someone but I expressed what I found in the areas I looked in. Several years ago, I got on a shallow jig bite and was catching 2-3lb bass shallow and regular. Near Horseshoe and Hickory. No doubt the flooded mats hold good sized largemouth in shallow. Just reporting what I saw.
  14. So did you cancel? Or brave the weather? If you are fishing, I hope you've had a lot of luck. I suspect you would need it based on reports I've been hearing.
  15. Now that's a story with a great ending considering how long it took and how many searches occurred.
  16. A friend went out last night on Beaver and said it was super slow for him but he watched a guy cull in very short order after starting a local jackpot. If my bud wasn't catching them, it was super tough. He can catch em good. Some guys.....well they just produce no matter what which is why the guy was culling is my guess. Why I don't fish Everett. There are some guys that will always be in top 20 no matter what. Me? I'd be dancing like a fool and talking some big time smack if I could make it into the top 20!! Lol!! Because it would only happen once and sheer luck. :-)
  17. Mixed bag. Some fat K's, small ones, and largemouth mix. The blind fool that missed mine looked to be about 13-15" and healthy. I side scanned and trolled the area just before leaving (catching one of the buggers was mandatory). Mix of kentuckies. Some good sized marks too. All wolf packed together about 1/4-1/2 down in the water column.
  18. There's no doubt fish can be caught shallow. That's all year long. They are just not in as many numbers until a shallow bite is key. At least that's how I've seen it over the years.
  19. What you said makes sense and reflects what I found last weekend. I purposely went shallow and floated over brush with greenery. Rather odd. Seeing green bushes under water as clear as it could be. Not even a small perch or any bait. Deathly quiet. Not sitting on a big dock nearby either. Went around the dock and didn't see anything. Come back around the dock on the deepest side and there were a few fish. Them the dock owners started coming down the trail to their dock. Talking, yelling, kids running on the dock, big weekend fun and festivities. Oddly enough, that noise turned on the fish. A topwater bite flipped like a light switch. The noise must have made the bait nervous. Only thing I can think of. But the bite was over 25-35ft over a flat in front of the dock. I had a bass slap at my spook 5 times. Missed it all 5 times. That's why I tried 5-6 other plugs. Not a bite. Tied on the big one again and bam. Another strike.
  20. They weren't last weekend. Nothing was in the bushes, not even bait. All suspended over deeper water. They would move up and some up to 8ft, then go back deep again. I didn't throw enough variety at them to figure them out but I've got a few ideas for the next trip that should rack up some weight. After trying 6 topwater plugs and only one would produce strikes during a topwater feed, it clued me in to a very picky bite. Super noisy or reaction bites only. Tried drop shot and they pulled 3 worms off my hook in 10mins by short striking. Tried a different worm and not even a nibble. They wanted that one scented worm. They might move up by this weekend. Weather is slowly stabilizing. Sort of.
  21. That's everyday for me.
  22. Sounds like the bite IS slowing down up there too with all of the rain.
  23. ^ Bahahahahahahaha!!!! Why not. They've been accused of eating everything in the lake. I bet they are moving on to other diets.
  24. I'll check it out thanks!
  25. Must be San Fransisco strain bass. Lol!!
