  1. Now that's a fair point.
  2. That's what I recall from Grand.
  3. Did at Bassmaater Classic in 2013.
  4. One word..... "Money" Follow it, and you will find the reason.
  5. Very true and good advice. While we all have our perspectives, the old man probably wanted some quiet time either away from life or just wanted to enjoy fishing without being disturbed as we have all experienced by jet skiers. This year, the jet skis have not bothered me at all. Not one incident. The wake boats........there's another topic. I say enjoy your time and don't sweat it. We have all been the old man at times. It just happens. And as for bass guys not caring, that's probably true. There are a lot of jerks that are as bad as the walkers when it comes to waking boat docks and others. I've seen them take off from the back of narrow coves lined with docks and the dock owner yelling slow down as they plow a massive wake past the dock. That's worse than a wake boat on open water in my book. We all need to respect the other guy, give each other space, operate safely, and enjoy the freedoms we have while we can.

What kind of shows do they show up there at LOZ? Geez dude

  8. I've trolled the Flicker Minnows a couple of times 170ft behind the boat. I was over deeper water and when I would hit 25-30ft, I did not notice the baits ticking the bottom. So it must require more line to get down deeper. Odd. I have not had any strikes on them either.

I saw a tv show where two Cajuns made a bet. One Cajun said he would give the other Cajun a weeks supply of bait for free if the other guy did not agree that his far balls were the best fish he'd ever eaten. The bet was made and the other Cajun admitted it was the best he had ever eaten. Moral of the story here is it's all in how it was cooked. I definately don't want to deal with the prep part after trying to clean one myself. It does look like a trash fish. I bet it is good if cooked right though.
  10. Here is a good image showing the difference in cone angles between downscan and structure scan. Traditional sonar uses a circular cone angle to dispearse the sonar signal in a sound wave. Structure scan uses an oval shape to dispearse the sound wave. Think off the cone angle as a flashlight beam......if the fish is inside the light, you can see it. If it's outside the line (cone angle), you can't see the fish. Hope this explains things better and makes it easier to understand.
  11. I got Hot Maps Premium. $100 at Cabelas in Rogers. Might have been $150, I can't remember. It has 1ft contours so yes it's way more detailed.

You joke. I know a cajun that still does that. If the meat is still fresh it's going home with him.
  13. I agree, we needed the rain.
  14. I was going to take the girls out for my daughters second ever fishing trip. Now, with colder air temps, windy, and a cold front with south wind, I bet the whites won't even bite. I know where they are, it's just difficult to get them fired up. Even with a spoon. I've got about 7-8 live brooders left over from Saturday, I hope they might bite on those too.
  15. That's about the best advice given I think.
  16. Why so hateful? Geez

Not that hungry yet. That one made me chuckle!!
  19. All female bass huh. :-)
  20. If I EVER catch a striper with a bass of any kind in its belly.....I'll be sure and post it so the striper haters can eat too. Lol I used to be one. Till I ate one. Now I love the man in the pin striped suit. I don't have to go to Florida to get blackened grouper anymore. Lol
  21. Lol!!! Dang auto correction on my know-it-all phone. Gizzards!!! Gizzard shad.
  22. Shallow pattern yes but so will 152 other boats. Bunch of bank beaters. Beaver will make a good basser out of you. Like it or not. She will. As for stripers, they eat more crawfish and gizzard shad than bass I promise. I open the stomach on every one I catch. Haven't seen a bass in there yet. Perch, buzzards, and craws.
  23. I'm only teasing and for the sake of a good laugh. :-)

The smell, and appearance was enough to turn me away.I'd try it if someone cooked it. I hear if it's cooked right, it's awesome.
