  1. They are closing all concessions but have yet to make a decision on fishing
  2. I see one guy fishing just above the dam on the parking lot side
  3. As I recall, opening weekend of winter season 2018, was the last time that I remember having normal, summertime low, water conditions.
  4. You could always start with the scud and transition into the midge. That's what I call my scudge pattern. By the time they have eaten all of the fuzz off the back end, you end up with thread and a little puff of fuzz on the front end.
  5. trolling?
  6. I was at the park yesterday. Up about 8 or 10 inches and a greenish white color. A little water still coming over the upper slab crossing.
  7. Go to home depot and buy 2 five gallon buckets. Color is not important. Then go to your nearest urban pond and catch some trout. Forgot, you will need to pick up some worms or crickets or grubs on the way. Maybe even some bait shrimp. There you go Pete.
  8. If they don' cancel trout season, that's what I will be doing.
  9. yes you can do that. also crappie tubes, plastic worms grubs etc.
  10. Used to be that way and I spent most of late summer in z3. About the time that our favorite hatchery manager took office, it was changed to "nothing permanently attached to a hook" was legal in z3. And that included super glue.
  11. If I remember correctly," BSSP is the only park" that does not allow fly fishing in all zones.
  12. Sorry I missed this. The sycamore was about 500 feet upstream from the dam on the hatchery side. It had a nice bowl shaped and a little undercut to it. A great place for a big fish.
  13. That was "my flyrod is laying on the bank and there is another fish behind me" look
  14. You need to stand closer next time
  15. 9 foot north east from the end of my flyrod.
  16. I was on my way there when I spotted this fish.
  17. I wish, this only makes 12 since January 1. 88 more to go to make my goal of 100 for the calendar year.
  18. This picture doesn't do the fish justice. It had a really fat belly almost like full of eggs but not. Caught another one that was a little smaller. A good day to be on the creek.
  19. It looks to me as if he is standing at the park and river boundary on the campground side. I can see the circle drive by the river b ench.
  20. Way to go Alex that is as good a smallmouth that I have seen in years at the mouth of the park stream
  21. OUCH the fish should have apologized to you
  22. I had to apologize to this one Pete.
  23. Short of stabbing one in the gills, trout are a lot more durable than most experts give them credit. The C&R craze has set aside most common sense practices. If listen to them, don't touch them, don't pick them up, don't net them , and don't take a picture because you might expose them to UV rays. If you really want to get serious you might as well use a hookless fly and just count coup. I have touched them, netted them, pictured them and abused them. Turn them loose and caught them again the following week. I might add that I have boga gripped them as well.
  24. Maybe another 30 lb fish. good luck to all
  25. I bet you would. he drove that old pickup with the pipe racks. chevy i think
