  1. A tan sowbug on a size 14 2487 tmc, as well as the two browns. Pretty much tan and grey are my only colors.
  2. Have not seen you on oaf for awhile. Nice fish.
  3. Ain't it fun to be a victim? Thanks for the comments guys.
  4. Welcome Josh. I see that you have already helped out TF85. I am curious about the white bass and walleye. Does that trib run into the missouri river?
  5. Poor guy, but that's got to be the funniest thing I have heard today.
  6. Thanks. It's good to see you out there also.
  7. Spent the better part of 4 hours on sunday attempting to outwit 2 nice browns and 2 nice rainbows. The 2 browns and one of the rainbows refused everything that I threw at them. I managed to fool the other bow only to come up with an empty hook set. It was a great day, temps were good and the crowd was light. Today, I managed to redeem myself. I got on the 2 browns early, and within 30 minutes had both hook ups and one landed. It was a good looking 5 pound female and a good fighter. The other brown, which was slightly smaller, ran me through the moss and broke off my 7x tippet. Hearing a report about a nice rainbow in the blue pipe hole, and my luck running good, I decided to go see if I could find her. On the walk up, I was thinking about how neat it would be to catch the first "reported lunker" out of the newly renamed "blue pipe hole". I eased down the pilings side but did not see the fish. I worked back up stream and crossed over to the hatchery side. Two steps past the blue pipes I see her laid up on the shelf by the moss edge. I made a few get the depth drifts, and just like that I'm hooked up. She dropped back in the current, made 3 to 4 head shakes, and then charged across the creek with the drag screaming. She then went under the moss that is hung up on the pilings, up around the pilings, and then straight back across the creek towards me. Here I am with 70 foot of line out, wrapped around the pilings on the far bank, and the fish six foot directly in front of me. We parted company right at that point. My tippet broke just downstream of my #6 split shot. A pretty exciting 30 seconds. It was obvious that the fish had been that route before. A good fighting fish with good color and just a tint of blue. Not huge, 4 to 4.5 pounds but in good shape. No doubt a holdover from regular season. With that said, I am now reporting the first offically "lost lunker" from the newly renamed "blue pipe hole". Another great day to be on the water, only saw 2 other anglers. Thanks for listening.
  8. The good ole days when bssp used to have lunkers. Since about 04, I have gone from catching 30 lunkers a year, to feeling lucky to catch six or eight in a years time at bssp. Most now are holdover from opening and derby day, and a few river browns that move up in july. Occassionally we get some river browns in the winter such as the one I caught 2 weeks ago.
  9. We were not expecting any and got 2 inches. Does any one know if the roads are cleared into the park at bssp?
  10. As far as I am concerned, it's a done deal. "Pete's Blue Pipe Hole". Has a nice ring to it.
  11. A perfect assessment Wayne. So goes my theory, a small fly, light tippet, for big fish. No worries about stressing them out, they are stressed to the max already.
  12. Hot Dang TF! That was good. I actually understood every thing you said. You will make one heck of a good trial lawyer. And I mean this in a good way.
  13. Never heard of wanton waste either. Some where, way back, I can recall a statement saying: If you release a fish and it dies, you must count it in your daily limit.
  14. Don't know Pete. I will contact Leonard.
  15. Well, what's the name going to be?
  16. It's 18 to 20 inches down river from you.
  17. I knew that you were familar with that name.
  18. I got it. Chuck Davidson, Chuck's emerger.
  19. That's not the name I am looking for. He fished at Mcclellands alot, maybe in the 70's and 80's.
  20. Yep. You want to winterize the home instead of just shutting the water down each time you leave. Dig dig dig. Water witch is your best bet. If the home is 33 years old, most likely the main water could be galvanized or copper which will make it easier to witch. If its galvanized, it has already outlived it's life expectancy. Use dig rite services to locate any gas or electric or buried cables. Good luck and I mean that in a good way.
  21. I think you should print this entire discussion. It should become a best seller with sequels.
  22. I don't see why not PEte. I think it should have your name on it, like that local ledgend guy from the norfork. I can't think of his name right now. Somebody help me out. I have heard Dano mention the name before.
  23. I am amazed that you have no ice on the pond. Get out there and catch a few. The weather channel showed snow blanketing the entire state for monday. I may have to buy a snowmobile to be able to get to bssp. Thx for the info JD.
  24. The local media is pretty much crippled here at the lake. I haven't heard any reports, but I would not be surprised if a few commercial and several residential docks bit the bullet. Fishinwrench needs to report in to give us an update. I have part interest in a dock on the big niangua that I am unable to check on. Snow loads, ice, and the falling lake levels are sudden death to alot of docks. Maybe the wind kept alot of the snow off the roofs. Hopefully no one was injured in the collapse of the oklahoma docks. It is not uncommon here, for workers to be on the docks, trying to remove the snow as it accumulates.
