  1. Best be checking this guys fish for pellet holes!!!
  2. In 05, the hatchery manager at shepard, told me this story about missouri's choice for brown trout. Originally they started with the same strain of german that arkansas has. They soon discovered that this fish had a terrible survival rate because it was aggressive and easy to catch. They settled on a fish that was basically scared of its own shadow. That fish was and still is, as far as I know, the Sheep Creek strain. I do not know where it originates from. And recently Phil told me that they are experimenting with the triploid brown. If i can recall correctly, the seaforellen fish is from scotland. Off the subject, I would also like to see a triploid rainbow introduced.
  3. Not fair, them boat guys would win hands down.
  4. How long will it take to wade from phil's place to the trophy water?
  5. sorry, i will eliminate kayak and substitute boat in its place.
  6. wade fishermen must not as trust worthy as kayak fishermen.
  7. Mdc says that turtles and crayfish are predators of the jellyfish.
  8. I have not seen any on the niangua for some time. When I first saw them, I wasn't sure until I started looking at one of mdc's wedsite. Knowing people would think I was crazy, I never told anyone until I had done the research first.
  9. It is equal to, two thirds of one unit. Sometimes they run 2 generators at the level of two thirds of one.
  10. I have recovered the schedules as of this morning. Thanks Phil.
  11. I dont have the listing that is normally at the top of the page.
  12. I will ask nicely this time. I show no generation schedules. What in the world has happened?
  13. Prayers to his family and friends. I did not know him but always liked his posts about rr. He was a friend of Duane who is a friend of mine. I knew he was fighting that cancer issue, but you would not know it from his comments about fishing and friends. RIP Ralph.
  14. The unknown angler. Luckily the fish came out good.
  15. I tied a lime green blob once to imitate power bait, but it did not work.
  16. Sorry to hear that fw, I can recall when a water heater cost less than a sage rod.
  17. Bumping this out one more time prior to listing it on another network.
  18. Well guys, I like guns and silver dollars.
  19. In 2006 I bought one of the last 7 weight XP's available. It was the perfect streamer rod for night time fishing at taneycomo. It was used for about 2 seasons and has been in the case since. Cost between 5 and 6 hundred new. It has case, rod sock, and warranty card which shows date of purchase. I would take 300 and not a penny less. If interested, send me a pm with phone number, and I will text you a picture.
  20. check your neighbors septic
  21. I am thinking that if a new 24 inch limit were adopted lake wide, a lot more 20lbers would be in the till. I would agree with Phil about older and larger fish not being able to withstand the onslaught from a major flood gate event. I have only witnessed one fish in the wild, in recent years, that would push the 25lb mark. I would like to see the next state record be caught by a flyrodder. Whether it be rainbow or brown.
  22. My bil caught one on july 4 out of raintree lake that went 22lbs. He was using my 5wt fly rod with a white jig under an indicator. Hard fighter, took a good 30 minutes to land him. He had 6lb vanish as a leader.
  23. that means no fishing tomorrow, and maybe the next day. weekend looks good.
  24. Come on now, I specialize in catching those dumb fish. I will leave the smart ones for you.
  25. I think we should all kick in to buy a 20 dollar winter trout permit for bssp only. Then , while the hatchery was catching up with demand, they could buy some decent fish from rainbow trout and game ranch. Put them in for us to fish for during winter season.
