  1. Tim... maybe you're just referring to setting up camp anywhere a person pleases on MDC land. They do however provide plenty of designated areas for primitive camping as I'm sure you're aware.
  2. Arizona Rig - Targets invasive species from south of the border. Also referred to as the OLE' rig for its propensity of missed hooksets.
  3. SWEET! Thanks Saluki...
  4. Upstream from where Wrenchie's talking about is a place called Cedar Camp if you're interested. Check out their website for trips. Karen and Tammy will take care of you and it's a good place to leave your vehicle.
  5. You guys on the lakes, I feel your pain. Us whom fish the free flowing rivers or creeks get it from mother nature. Only difference is she doesn't provide a number to her complaint department.
  6. Smallmouth are not native to Missouri? Guess I haven't been paying attention. Could you please give me information regarding your comment?
  7. Yes! I have that book. It's a great read authored by Candice Millard. Teddy was defeated in the 1912 election and was humiliated by it. He, his son Kermit, and a famous Brazilian explorer (among others) ended up mapping an un-named tributary of the Amazon. It was a one thousand mile journey. They went through hell is the best way to put it. Teddy almost commited suicide. They lost canoes and supplies to whitewater, endured starvation, were attacked by natives with poison arrows, ravaged by disease, there were drownings, and they went through a murder within their group. Pretty cool you mentioned that book...
  8. Hey there pale-face... Time to buy your own beer. You rich little... boy. Big Piney with Ginger... we scored!
  9. Key words... "Debris is a fisherman's dream" Did your captain or any other boat report the net? Or did the spinner dolphins have to prove the point? Glad you fished the trash and had luck. I too have fished the Kona coast. All I caught was a 50# Short-nosed spearfish. No debris involved, except the cigarette butts the Captain had to empty from the ash trays. Made me very happy.
  10. I get ya F&F. In life there are givers, takers, and givers and takers. The majority are givers and takers in my mind. That's where I would honestly place myself. Maybe the givers and possibly some of the giver and takers can donate their catch to the tsunami survivors? Sea life being replaced from being killed in this mess won't be replaced. We are the best at replacing our species until we doom ourselves. I'm about to respond to Rainbow's post. Seen that?
  11. Well... I guess I'm glad YOUR family is excited to reap the rewards. To each his own. Pretty sad in my mind to take advantage of a disaster. Did my part to help Japan. And a Cali should help clean up that dung. Not think about fishing it. To each his own brother...
  12. My bad... You're right, debris does attract fish. I wonder though about any nasty contaniments contained in this particular mega-field that could harm not only fish but seals, sea lions, turtles, etc.?
  13. The tire tracks tell me no.
  14. Well, if Bennett is a nursing home put me there now.
  15. The older gentlemen in the video are priceless. Especially the two that are on the bench laughing it up. Bet they've got some stories to tell...
  16. Yep. It can be a little trashy. I've picked up trash where I usually park the truck in the past.
  17. That question deserves a lengthy well thought out answer. So... Cricket, where are you? Red "X" to follow.
  18. Root "WADS" mic... Root "WADS"
  19. Please tell me you're not serious F & F... I have a feeling you're not. But maybe you are. Plenty of kelp beds in southern California. Especially off of Catalina Island. Permanent ones. Does kelp die off and float? If it does... makes sense I guess. Dolphin, Yellow Tail (Tuna), and bottom fish (Grouper or Snapper), sound yummy. But not when they're feeding from a tsunami debris field.
  20. Remember the deal about "Tito... the ghost fisherman?" He can keep that moniker... we've got the new "Coppertone Baby". Cricket... loan 'em a g-string for a photo shoot. MONEY! (once we burn his butt in a tanning bed). His wife is gonna hate us. Eventually...
  21. That looks delicious bud! Ate the last of our fish caught from this year on this Christmas Eve. Mostly crappie with a little white bass mixed in.
  22. I've got goose popper's I scrounged from the golf course's up here. Need any more?
  23. Well... here's my "Merry Christmas" to you... PM me if you'd like to know the spots below the the park to try. They're not that big of a secret. But you'll catch fish. Or should... KC
  24. Ditto! I've managed to get myself enamored with the upper JF. So when I make a trip down there that's where I go. I'd rather smallmouth fish but I know there are nice smallies in the trout water on the 11 Point. Is the scenery through the Irish Wilderness area as nice as the upper Jacks? My guess is yes. Any opinions?
  25. Brian, having the kids with ya is priceless. I enjoy all your videos because it puts me right there. Sooner or later there's gonna be an acoustic version of the Foo Fighters "Walk" and "Rope". But why wait?
