  1. I can assure you guys that at least one major tournament has been won this year on the lower end of the lake. There is still hope.
  2. Boat and Trailer. Won from Cystic tournament. Does have the pedestal seats and windshield not shown in pictures. Also already has a 3 bank charger and Mercury controls and motor cables. Rated for up to a 150. This boat fully rigged is being listed for $29-$32k. We are asking $13k as it sits.
  3. Hey that's me! Thanks for the publicity. I did catch the biggest bass out of 500+ other fishermen on a wiggle wart. The rest of our fish came off beds.
  4. Thanks Brian, we didn't know we were in the lead until later, he just said nice job that should be in the money and we walked off the stage. it was an awesome day, good luck to all fishing the bass cat. the only way I would be able to fish is if I strap a 15h.p river boat motor on this margay!
  5. Me and my partner took home the win! Had 17.77lbs with a 5.81 BB. Fish were shallow and actively spawning. Got a Margay for sale if anyone's interested!
  6. MDC has already taken it upon themselves to put stripers in Bull.
  7. Just need to grow a few stripers to put in TRL and everything will be all squared away.
  8. Guy who got 2nd also got 2nd last year...
  9. Sounds like you must of fished long creek with me? Same report as far as fish catching for me, hoping for a better day tomorrow
  10. Can the MDC help us avoid any unwanted transfer of stripers into BSL? ?
  11. Ed I was thinking they had somewhere around 700-800 fisherman last year but it's been a while so I could have forgotten. That probably translated into 300 boats or so each day on the water. Some guys only fish one day or the other. The lake is usually pretty busy that weekend but everyone spreads out across the lake pretty well.
  12. Was it that rough today? I'm heading out of Baxter in the morning any tips to point me in the right direction ?
  13. Rough conditions for a slow bite, would be worth it if they were hammering. Probably still a few weeks away from that. What was the water color up that way today?
  14. Splitting hairs here but... The round knob you tighten or loosen to watch the bait drop is actually the spool tension knob. Has nothing to do with the braking system. The round dial on the opposite side of your reel handle is the magnetic brake. The farther you turn it the more magnets are exposed to engage the spool. And the centrifugal brakes on all reels I have (shimano and Abu) you must remove the palm plate to access. These centrifugal breaks are basically small plastic pieces that the faster they spin, the more they cause resistance. These guys are much stronger than the magnets in my experience. All that to say if you get all of these aspects (some reels don't have all these options) in check you are ready to chunk that plopper, crawler, or 3 arm buzz bait a great distance! somebody fact check me this is just my opinion!
  15. Hey Bill, hop in your time machine, your a month behind! Great report hope this rain doesn't mess it up to bad.
  16. I just shelled out $899 for the same unit but got the structurescan with it.
  17. I had that one big bite Friday evening, rest of the weekend was tough for me!
  18. Didn't have my scale, just a tad over 22" long and very thick. Easily over 6 I was guessing
  19. I barely made it out after work, fished from 6-6:30. It was worth it.
  20. Hickory Creek this morning water was 42-43 and fishing was sloooowww, I didn't stay long just got out to try my new Lowrance out. Water very stained.
  21. Thanks for the tips guys, good info!
  22. Hey guys, I am wanting to experiment with some braid this year. Looking for some pointers such as line size and brands that work well for some applications on our area lakes. Any do or do nots would be greatly appreciated to reduce my learning curve. Thanks in advance!
