  1. Yeh, if you can watch that with dry eyes, you not human.
  2. If you can take about ten minutes out of your busy day, watch this: http://blip.tv/play/AYGJ5h6YgmE This is a very rough hand made video about a real hero. This is the funeral procession of SFC John C. Beale, United States Army-Georgia National Guard. SFC Beale was killed in action in Afghanistan on 4Jun2009, along with two other soldiers. The procession runs from Falcon Field in Peachtree City, GA to McDonough, GA, a distance of about 30 miles. The notice published in local newspapers and included the route and approximate times. These people know what a hero is even if the big city media do not. By the way, Ed McMahon died 23Jun2009. He was a decorated Marine Corp fighter pilot and test pilot. Where was the Kansas City Star multi-page information on another real hero? You folks have some priority issues that should be addressed, I think. 3. I have not gone up the James for 3years! Just never get around to pointing the boat that way. Are you going to be there all week? I will be down there Fri thru Mon. Maybe we can hook up Sat and go explore. I will be staying a couple of miles from you.
  4. Thunderstorms Delay The Takeoff The weather was stormy at takeoff but 29 teams weathered it out and it appeared they found good fish. Big crankbaits and jigs appeared to be the ticket for most anglers. K Simms & C Hughes Chris Hughes, of Springfield. MO, and Kirk Sims, of Lowell AR, had a 5 fish limit that weighed 21.34lbs with a 5.75lb Largemouth kicker that got 1st Big Bass of the day. This earned the team over a $1000 in 1st place monies. Deep diving crankbaits and jigs were the answer for the team. Jim Huson & Kelly Powers Kelly Powers, of Cape Fair, MO and Jim Huson of Republic, MO, had a 5 fish limit that weighed 19.73lbs which was good enough for 2nd Place. They also had a bass that weighed 5.31lbs good for 2nd Big Bass. Their fish came from using jigs and crankbaits. The team was sponsored by Bass Pro Shops. Mike Fann & Mark Fann Mike Fann and Mark Fann of Ozark Mo, sponsored by Champion Boats, Mercury Outboards, Pro Guide Batteries, and Tablerock Tackle, had a string that weighed 16.32lbs. This earned the team 3rd Place. Jigs and crankbaits again the baits of choice.

  6. Good to hear about the topwater bite. Was supposed to fish Joe Bass yesterday but opted out as I didnt think I could keep fish alive in this heat. You probably saw em go by as they came out of Ahoys at 6:00 am.
  7. Bill, In my opinion anybody that would call you and complain that they stayed at a crummy resort that they saw on this forum is a complete waste of time for you! What are you supposed to do, give em there money back? If they have a beef they need to post it on the lodging forum. I do understand your postion though.
  8. Heres a picture of them. Also let me say I know nothing about flies so that is why I am asking about them.
  9. Thanks Terry, I sent them an email to see if they know the history. Noticed they do not make flys anymore. Also my flys were from Windsor Mo and they are now in Arkansas. They look like they make some good prop baits.
  10. Was at an auction today and bought some old metal bait boxes. Inside on of them was several flies still stapeled on the card. They were called the Gillie fly made by Gilmore tackle co Windsor Mo. Colors were yellow moth , brown moth and ozark guinea. On the back of the card it says: Save this card Its your Guarantee.. This lure is hand made of the best materials and is guaranteed to give you your moneys worth of service. You be the judge. If it doesnt, return it with the card to the dealer or factory and it will be gladly replaced. Any body heard of them?
  11. They must have been on the smaller side. 3 pounds plus wipers will test most tackle. Gotta have alot of line capacity to get the bigger ones in. They will strip most reels dry. Been there done that.

I am a moron. Drove down to Hickory this am. for the cleanup. Nobody showed up. lol Guess the 3rd Sat means the 3rd Sat.
  13. Wow! That ride up the creek looked wild. By the way any gold up there. Might be fun to pan in the creek.
  14. Conservation of water is what they need to try first. A new idea that they are using in the new green area in Springfield is to reuse they gray water to flush stools. Yard watering is a waste too. Plant native mixtures in your yard you will have green in your yard without having to water. Lots of ways to conserve, but are we spoiled Americans willing to do it? Industry is the biggest water user by far.
  15. Please explain, best lake?
  16. I saw that. Better start scarfing up land around Granby.
  17. Watch this. Pretty good test.
  18. What's a Weggie and why is Bill going to give me one? Ever had your underwear pulled over your head while wearing them?
  19. We always had good luck with Total or 40 % Bran flakes . Just wet it and ball it up, stays on a treble hook fairly well.
  20. So far only the eldest has to go to court, and the younger one was the one mouthing the land owner. Imagine that!!
  21. Poor Bill, I think his crew set him up alot of the times. Good stuff
  22. used for commerce, hmmmm. Wouldnt the new resort on Jenkins creek fall under that?
  23. Some more info. The key wording though is water that has been deemed navigable. I wonder if we have a lawyer on OAF that wants a pro bono case??? Trespass on private property is a STATE issue. Thus, if you are cited for trespassing, you will face MO courts using MO law and legal precedent. However, the Freedom of Navigation Act addresses this issue on navigable waterways with well-established federal case law. Thus, if someone (private party OR government entity) denies you freedom of movement on a navigable waterway, YOU can sue THEM for a violation of your civil liberties in FEDERAL court. Furthermore, most attempts to deny such movement include an assault, terroristic threats, hunter/angler harassment, or even unlawful restraint. And most of these are higher crimes than trespassing. But...in MO and AR...if you are NOT on a known navigable waterway, you CANNOT legally set foot on the stream bed without landowner consent. Property in MO is owned to the "center of the stream bed." Look at some legal property descriptions on deeds. If the stream is a navigable waterway (meaning it was ever used for commercial navigation...including recreational activities for hire, floating logs or rafts of goods to market, or commercial trapping/fishing) then you have a right to walk/stand/wade on the stream bed below the MEAN (average) HIGH WATER MARK
  24. [ Is Dally gonna be the judge? Nope, Judge Schoeberl. That pic says a mouthfull. thanks
