Many fish cannot cross breed... as in browns and rainbows. * It is impossible *
I was fishing with ruthead (Don) and is family Tuesday and Wednesday... I think we caught only a couple of fish with really good white tipped fins. Side note, one juvenile brown that was caught was fin clipped... right side clipped. Linda caught that one I think.
Our Taneycomo trout ... from what I have learned so far, have only been been cross bred with the McCloud strain. I do know that MDC tried to get other fish introduced (i.e. bred) with other strains... to no avail.
So why the intense cutt-bow trout qualities ? Lots of fish (after feeding on a good diet of scuds) really do have the slash markings of a true cutt-bow or just complete cutthroat trout from Yellowstone ?
