Monday AM I was getting the boat ready to launch at Big M. There was a rig parked in one of the spots at the top of the lot and as I was getting my boat ready I heard a kind of thumping noise coming from that trucks bed. I looked over and I could see a crow perched on the bed and the thump was still going on. Had to walk over and check it out, got close and the lookout crow took off, and his buddy in the bed flew out. Looked in the bed of the truck and there was a bag of deep corn, which was obviously what the bird was working on.
Got the boat in the water, the crows went back at it, but the guys who had launched were across the lake so I motored over and told them about it. Saw them back at the dock at the end of the day and they said they when they went back, the crow had worked a small hole in the bag, so they put it in the truck cab and got back to fishing.
There's always a couple of crows around that ramp looking for something to get into. When I park my truck, there's usually one sitting on the boat gunwale looking for something to pilfer.
Fished Monday and Tuesday, fishing for me was not too hot, caught a couple dozen bass on the Ned rig, with only three keepers. Weather was pretty nice, so I am not complaining, I enjoy getting out.
Talked to a couple of people that were fishing jigs, they aren't tearing it up, but they are getting a few with some being decent sized.
