  1. Sending out my drone to overfly the area and see where it is...
  2. Yeah, I hear you. It's tough to do when you are out once or twice a week. It can take a day to figure stuff out, and then it's time to go home.
  3. Nice ones!
  4. Saw a post just recently where they say the Corps is expecting the lake to crest at 923 on Saturday. Some of the launches may be unuseable, parking lots may be flooded. James river is at a record level.
  5. Thanks for the tips Alex. I've been thinking of dragging the deep cranking stick out just for the heck of it. But it's one of those things that if I don't get a bite in about 15 minutes, it gets put down.
  6. Hmmmm, you're right - forget the part about stripers. I wonder if the deep drop shot bite will go away with this change in the water level?
  7. LOL, good one!
  8. Going to be hot and humid next week, all this water will start evaporating, going to be fun fishing in that stuff. Trying to think of other conversational topics besides catch and kill vs, catch and release. I think we have beat that one to death. Might be some stripers coming into TR with the flood gates getting re-opened.
  9. Hard for me to make judgements based on what I see, but most of the fish I've caught over the last month appeared to be spawned out. Seen a few fat spots, but hard to know if they are fat because they are full of eggs, or fat from eating well. Could just be an upper end thing.
  10. Been some crazy rain this spring.
  11. Considering they started dumping water on Tuesday, that is a pretty impressive rise, and the graph is still pointed up. Should be a good year for fry survival.
  12. I haven't been there in a couple of weeks, but I would avoid the Kings river and the mouth of the Kings for sure. White river channel above the Kings may have a floater or two, so if you plan to go up there I'd scope it out first before doing any full throttle boating.
  13. Yep, excellent jig heads!
  14. Thanks for the report.
  15. What are the regs on rainbows up there in that river? Is it single, barbless hook, catch and release, fly fishing only? Not that I would want to keep any, just curious what the tackle restrictions are. What would be a typical day this time of year as far as numbers?
  16. I own a Stradic, it's not a bad reel, but I think they just aren't a good value. Picked up some old model Pflueger Supremes this year from Cabelas Bargain Cave, half the price of a Stradic, and just as good a reel, if not better. Hate to keep pimping the Bargain Cave, but every once in a while they have some good reels at really deep discounts.
  17. I could see where that would be a problem. I'm not saying I support a law where you have to produce identity on demand, and can be arrested if you refuse. But that appears to be how it works in MO and Arkansas and some other states.
  18. Right now, I see it as an employee or two getting into the Astros database. Cards upper level management is denying any involvement (through an attorney). If this is the case, I doubt that MLB will punish the Cards organization.
  19. Great stuff.
  20. Yep, what he says. Don't be afraid to ask the guide for tips on where to go and what to use for the rest of your trip.
  21. Every time I watch the Cops TV show, the runners always get caught. What's funny is a lot of them are young, athletic looking guys (the runners) and the cops are, for the most part middle aged and maybe not the fastest runners in the world. But they always catch them. Of course I know it's a TV show, and that's not always the case.
  22. There's a bunch of different Okuma model spinning reels on sale in Cabelas Bargain Cave. Never owned an Okuma so I could not recommend a model. They have a Cabelas Prodigy on sale there now also, it's a Daiwa that's sold under Cabelas name. I don't know what Daiwa model it compares to, but with a little research you could find out I'm sure.
  23. Getting out my map right now...
  24. According to Federal law, it depends on what the state law says. The Terry rule has developed quite a bit since 1968, but some aspects remain murky. In particular, if the suspect refuses to give his name or any identifiers, may an officer arrest the suspect? According to the Supreme Court, the police may arrest for failure to identify if state law criminalizes such behavior. Doing a little more research I see that Missouri is a state where you could be arrested for failure to provide identity. I think there is more to it than just that, but if a police officer (and I assume wardens are considered law enforcement) has a reason to ask for your identity, and you walk away, then you could be subject to arrest.
  25. HAHA, I think you know what I mean, but for clarity let's say just 20% in the next year.
