It was breezy out there today, fishing was spotty, got a few smallies on a Rapala Shadow Rap, one went about 3 lbs. Caught a couple of Ned fish. Windy banks were the best locations, but tough to fish. Water temp is 62-63.
Looks like we may have 9 Friday night, might end up with a couple of guys sleeping on the couch or floor. I'm going to bring my dog, so I'll be in the den area on the futon near the dog, who will be in his kennel.
Time to start getting the menu together.
I believe Brett has generously offered to fry fish for Friday night. I can bring cole slaw, macaroni salad, catsup. I can also bring paper plates, paper towels, and plastic forks etc.
Any ideas for Thursday and Saturday nights?
I can also bring some Hostess doughnuts and bananas for breakfast.
Do we need to bring coffee and filters? I can't remember if that was supplied with the lodge.
Called Rileys today and booked us in the Cedar Gables place, which is the one we had for Jigfest #1, and I believe you are stayed there last year for Jigfest #2.
They quoted me pricing, $220 for the first night, and $235/night for Friday and Saturday nights. I believe we have 5 staying Thursday night so that works out to about $44/person, Firday night with 7 it is about $35 per person, and again with 5 Saturday night works out to $44 each.
I forgot to ask them, but I don't think they take credit cards.
Look up at the top of the page, 2nd toolbar, has a tab labeled chat. Click on it and you will see an option to "accept and enter chatroom". Click on it and you will be in.
Let's do it again, chat room, 11/17 7 PM.
Think of a topic if there's something you want to ask about. I'm thinking we can talk jerk baits as it is getting to be that time of year.

Interesting article today in the spots section of the Arkansas Democrat Gazette. According to the author there is a bit of a feud going on between the AGFC and the MDC.
MDC has been stocking stripers in Bull Shoals since 2012, and this is against the wishes of the AGFC. The director of the AGFC, is now threatening to stock stripers in TR, which would is opposed by MDC.
A silly spat if you ask me, but yet there it is.
Interestingly, the reason both agencies give for not wanting stripers in Bull or TR (Mo not wanting them in TR, and AR not wanting them in Bull) is that they might disrupt the fishing for other species. But yet, when you question AGFC about stocking stripers in Beaver, they always claim that stripers have no effect on other species.

Did you see that desperation lateral on 4th down in overtime, that was turned into a first down, which lead to a touchdown, then a 2 point conversion to win it?
Unbelievable!
Good stuff, I hope Mizzou fields a good team this year. Aggravating thing about SEC basketball is that it is almost pre-ordained that Kentucky will finish a top the heap.
