  1. Nice fish! Are they resident bows or steelhead?
  2. Yeah, hard to figure. I credit them with knowing what they are doing (I hope), but sure would like to hear the reasoning.
  3. Man, we are right in the bulls eye according to the forecasters.
  4. Yeah those Mississippi lakes, Sardis and the others nearby, are just big mud holes with hardly any cover. They just get hammered by fill the cooler crappie fishermen (kept a few myself). But they are crappie factories. Something like 200,000 crappie a year are kept at Sardis.
  5. They'll come up with some name for this that ends in "Gate".
  6. What's a Ned rig? Dave would you please explain? LOL, yeah lots and lots has been written about it. And it's not just here, it has been a topic of conversation on the national boards also. And it seems to have been universally named the Ned rig, nobody, except a few on here, calls it the little rig or little varmint. Makes we wonder with everyone throwing it now if the fish will get wise to it. So far they don't seem to be.
  7. Yep that's what I heard also.

No, it's some fishing show that was out a few years ago. If you want to watch it, PM me your address and I'll send it to you. (If I can find it).

Good fish - I always hear that Grand is a good crank bait bite. I have an Edwin Evers video that shows him throwing cranks on Grand. Pretty much the same results you guys had - he didn't catch a lot of fish, but the ones he caught were quality.
  10. I know that the Indian Creek launch is useable, my guess is Lost Bridge North and South should also be useable. Forecast is not getting better for this week. MULTIPLE ROUNDS OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAINFALL ARE EXPECTED THROUGH MID WEEK. A MORE WIDESPREAD AND SIGNIFICANT FLOODING THREAT WILL DEVELOP WEDNESDAY INTO THURSDAY AS A TROPICAL SYSTEM LIFTS NORTH INTO THE AREA FROM THE GULF OF MEXICO. WIDESPREAD 4 TO 7 INCHES WILL BE COMMON ACROSS THE WATCH AREA WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS TO AROUND 10 INCHES. THIS WILL LIKELY LEAD TO SIGNIFICANT FLASH FLOODING.
  11. Excellent!
  12. Weatherchannel.com is now predicting we could get anywhere from 3 to 8 inches of rain in this area by Friday. http://www.weather.com/storms/hurricane/news/tropical-development-gulf-of-mexico-91-l-heavy-rain
  13. They've just issued a flood advisory for western Benton County.
  14. Don't forget seasonality either. The Ned is a great winter and pre-spawn bait.
  15. Yeah maybe that's it Seth. But I think they need to look at their survey process, because they must be missing some folks. Maybe all the catch and release guys are miles away from the launch (or wherever it is they do these surveys) by the time the surveyors show up.
  16. This statement surprises me: " They said that angler surveys showed no support for catch and release." Who the heck are they surveying? I know several river smallmouth fishermen and they are all catch and release types. I know there are folks out there that keep their fish, but I have to think that at best they are about half the fishermen out there. Pretty much invalidates a lot of what they are saying if they think that there is no support for catch and release fishing.
  17. Yeah I recorded 3 hours of views of the wet tarp interspersed with History of the Cards videos.
  18. Saved by the rain.
  19. Interesting quick read on lead mining in SE MO. I didn't realize that it had been started back in the 1700's by the French. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southeast_Missouri_Lead_District
  20. The way the Royals are hitting, he'll probably throw a no-hitter.
  21. Your pieces are the best on that wall in my opinion/
