  1. That's a good day this time of year, I've talked to several people out on the water this weekend that were getting skunked. There's always a few guys out there that are catching the heck out of them, but most of us are having to work hard to get fish. Seems when you can find them, they'll bite, but finding them is hard, and you can find them on a point back in a creek like you did, and then fish 10 other points like that and not get a bite. Just hard to figure out.
  2. I sure didn't go over to K dock to fish for walleye, but you did fake me out. I'd be a little careful about posting fake reports, doesn't do much for the integrity of the forum - I realize this is a one-time deal, but I'm hoping it does not encourage others to do so.
  3. I'm a bass fisherman and I usually release walleye. I like fried fish, but not 5 times a week. I just hope the folks out there who fill the freezer with fillets eat them before they get freezer burn. And if you want fish to eat, these big lakes have an over abundance of big bluegill, they are easy to catch and good to eat. Never understood why those who fish for food don't go after those gills.
  4. I agree with you Ham, if you can find them, you can usually get a few out of that spot. My usual winter "milk run" spots just haven't been holding fish like they have the last couple of winters.
  5. I launched at about 0930 thinking that the bite would be better on a warm afternoon, than a cold morning. It did not go as I planned. First bank I fished, which I chose because I had caught a few keepers off of it a couple of days ago, again was a producer. Caught 3 largemouth, all keepers, had another one that got off half-way to the boat that was pulling harder than any of the keepers I had boated. All were Ned rig fish in about 10 FOW. Passed up and down that bank a couple of times after that, throwing a hair jig, jerker, and a tube, but no more bites. Motored down the lake, caught a short bass on a chunk rock bank on the Ned, moved to a cove mouth with deep trees and caught three more shorts on a grub slow rolled in 30-35 FOW, and those were the last fish I caught. I didn't get a bite from noon until I left at about 3:30 PM. So much for that warm afternoon bite idea. Talked to Mr. Babler and also to Mr. Duck and his buddy, always good to see some fellow OAF's out on the water. Water temps were 39-43 on average, appeared to warm up about a degree by afternoon.
  6. Dang, they have KVD himself making an appearance!
  7. I never have seen those, when I fished with Alex Heitman last year, he mentioned that he found some Warts at a local baitshop that had that shiny paint on them. I don't know of any of the big tackle outlets that carry them. I don't believe I have seen them on Ebay either. You may have a potential collector item there.
  8. Thanks Bill, you certainly had a great day of fishing!
  9. Let Richard know that fishing jig for steelhead in the rivers of the PAC NW is very popular. Don't know how he'd market them out there, lots of competition, but they do get used. Salmon will eat jigs also at times, very effective way to catch chums is a chartreuse jig underneath a float. Let me know what you think of that new rod as a Ned rod if you don't mind.
  10. That's some great fishing Enforcer, congrats!
  11. Looks to have a few spots on the tail which also is unusual for a brown.
  12. Sorry to hear about your boat problems ab.
  13. Cool, I'm anxious to see that. I need to work on the swimming part of my Ned game, pretty much been bottom contact fishing for me.
  14. Just finished watching that Tenkiller episode. Seems like the only guy having fun was Morizo. I agree that they should let those guys use rubber nets, those one pound bass flapping around with a face full of Redfin treble hooks are no joy to unhook.
  15. Table Rock fishing report, Big M area. Finally, a warm day, it was a great day for this time of the year to get out and do some fishing! I did not get too far from the Big M area, I targeted points and cove mouths with the Ned rig to start the day. Fishing was slow, and finding them is the hard part. I found two cove mouths that held a few fish, common characteristic was cove mouths with trees in water 10-30 feet deep. It sure wasn't a hot bite, but caught a half dozen on the Ned, one being a solid keeper largemouth. Had to fish a 1/8 oz Ned, deep and slow off the bottom to get bites. Late in the morning and into the afternoon, it really got breezy, couldn't fish the Ned in some of the other spots I wanted to try, just too frustrating trying to work it deep and slow when you've got white caps. Started throwing a 110 around, and I found a shallow, rocky bank with a breeze on it and afternoon sun, picked up 4 largemouth relatively quickly on the 110, and picked up another one going back down the bank with a Ned. 3 of them were chunky keepers. These fish were all shallow, none deeper than 10 feet. Water temps ranged from 39-42.

  17. Ned rig will catch a walleye every now and then.
  18. What no head pounding heavy metal background music like so many bass videos? Thanks for posting that video, very interesting to see the action it has.
  19. They are also running the MLF top level tournament on Saturdays (I think), well that's when they air the show. They were up in Maine. Mostly catching smallies, but there are LM in those lakes also. Best strategy is to load up on 1-2 lb. smallies.
  20. Very nice!
  21. Darn good walleye catching!
  22. Haven't seen last nights yet (have it on DVR) but saw one a few weeks ago where they were on Tenkiller. They caught a lot of fish, mostly LM and spots, and few smallies. Sweet looking lake, I'd like to get down there someday.
  23. Yes welcome, in spite of the fact that you root for the Tiggers. Here's a report from Pete Wenners, unfortunately he didn't fish last week either, so not much info in this weeks report, but if you look at his Jan 7 report I think you'll get info that probably still applies. http://www.hookedonbass.com/FISHREPORT.htm One thing I'm going to try, is in the afternoon find a bank with sun on it and a breeze blowing onto it. With these relatively warm days there may be a few fish that move up shallow looking for something to eat.
  24. I didn't know the Mag and Flats had jumped in price. You're right, the pre-rapala Mags were basically selling for retail or less.
