  1. I guess we should start thinking about how many days/nights we are going to be there. We could rent it out Thursday/Friday/Saturday nights, that way we would have all day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to fish. Or just Friday and Saturday nights.
  2. I hate it when that happens!

    Chiefs

LOL, Smith is at best average. He does well if he doesn't have to throw it more that 20 yards downfield. He's a "game manager" QB. Chiefs can certainly win with Smith or any average QB, at least in the regular season.
  4. Started off as another flat, sunny morning, wind picked up about 11 AM. Never really found a hot spot, picked up some on the drop shot and some on the jig. Drop shot fish were in 20-40 FOW and the best bite for the jig fish was on rocky points with a breeze. Caught about 20 total. Tried cranks and the spinner bait for a bit, no bites for me on the fast baits. Water temp 77.
  5. Man, I don't know what "lasterate you doot" means, but is sounds painful.
  6. Wow, what a game! Didn't see it all as it went past my bedtime, but who would've expected a 9-8 game?

    Chiefs

The Chiefs certainly looked good, they have flashes of brilliance, but you never know what team will show up next game.
  8. Nice!
  9. Hmmmm, inline spinner, I need to throw one more often. My earliest bass memories are of catching bass on a Shyster.
  10. Yeah I agree, I would think they'll be in Table Rock and Beaver before long.
  11. Yes they are known to be in there. http://www.krzk.com/15079/zebra_mussels_found_in_bull_shoals_lake_and_taneycomo.html
  12. Good deal!
  13. I know what you mean, once in a blue moon when I am fortunate to hook a 3lb. smallie, if it doesn't jump and give itself away, I always think I have a 6lb. LM on.
  14. Very nice, love to see those smallies!
  15. Then what do you propose we do?
  16. Not much "we" can do. We can do some feel good stuff and continue the research to find green technology that can replace carbon as an energy source. But the scientific consensus at this point is that if there are negative consequences to the carbon that is in the atmosphere, it is inevitable that we will suffer those consequences. The Chinese stated at the recent UN climate change conference that they will not sign on to anything at the 2015 meeting unless they are allowed to "temporarily" increase carbon emissions. Brazil has also indicated that they will not slow down the clearing of their rain forest. So we can continue to make minor incremental gains in carbon emission here in the US, and hamstring out economy, but it will be for naught. Global human population continues to increase - that's another issue that is completely left out of this debate.
  17. Let's hope Big Game pitches well, I doubt Lester will give up many runs.
  18. Good stuff!
  19. Thanks for sharing, those are some quality fish! What did you use to catch them (if it is secret, I understand). I have to make it up there one of these days.
  20. Well KC gets to host the A's. Pulled this from HBT: The Royals will host the Athletics on Tuesday at 8:07 PM ET. James Shields is slated to start for the Royals opposite Jon Lester for the Athletics. Should be a good one. The winner of the AL Wild Card game moves on to face the Angels in the ALDS, which starts on Thursday.
  21. Use an EWG hook and Texas rig your bait when doing the DS around docks and brush.
  22. Funny thing, today I was watching "Honey Hole Outdoors" which is a Texas fishing show hosted by a good bass fisherman by the name of Bill Wilcox. Good fishing show, runs weekly on Fox Sports SW on Sunday mornings - I record it. Anyway, on today's show, Bill was fishing a drop shot on a bait caster. He was flipping it around docks and cover and felt that the BC set up gave him better control and accuracy in that situation. I usually use spinning tackle with the DS, but I'm mostly using it in deep, open water situations, I can see using a BC when working it around cover and docks. I also like using a light spinning setup in the open water situation as most of the fish are 12-16" spotted bass, they are just a lot more fun on light tackle. And I'm using a 1/8 oz weight, I can flick it out there 30-40 feet with my spinning gear and watch the line as it sinks, lots of bites come on the fall. I'm not saying it's the best way for all, but it works for me.
  23. Thanks for the reports folks, funny how things change this time of year, but it seems the jig bite is getting pretty consistent.
  24. That rainbow is ridiculously fat.
