  1. Great reports Bill, those are some quality fish you're getting!
  2. After now hearing the dude's a criminal, and he's told 2 versions of how he caught the bass, I'm hoping the AGFC takes a serious look at that fish to verify that it did come from that lake, he didn't find it floating and decide to tell the world he caught it, or it did not come off a trot line. This whole thing is starting to sound "fishy".
  3. Latest rumor is that it was an A-rig rigged with 3 Mann's Jelly Worms and 2 Zoom Trick worms.
  4. He probably did catch it on an A-rig - he just didn't want to let the secret out so he changed his story to the worm (manufacturer yet to be determined).
  5. The story in that link says he caught it on a Mann's Jelly worm in Tequila, story in yesterday's Democrat Gazette says it was a black, 6" Culprit worm. A couple of different stories on how it was caught depending on the news source.
  6. Cool, if true that's a heck of a bass. Never heard of lake Dunn.
  7. My guess is he set out to fish cranks for the show, it is sponsored by Strike King, so I'm sure they wanted to show him catching fish on SK cranks. KVD is also known for being a crank fisherman, and he catches amazing amounts of bass on them. I think he did pretty darn good for a post cold front, bluebird day.
  8. The "Strike King Pro Journal" show featured KVD on Table Rock last fall. He was using a Strike KIng square bill, Sexy Shad I believe, fishing on a bluebird day after a storm front had rolled through in October. He looked for stained water in the creek arms, and ended up with around 20, 8 being keepers by his estimation. He kept the boat parallel to the bank and very close so he could keep the crank in contact with rocks and timber. Only problem with fishing this way, if you have a backseater he's going to be blocked.
  9. 3 big stripers sounds like a good day to me, thanks for the report, glad to hear you got into them!

  11. Me and Jeb launched out of Houseman first thing in the AM yesterday, fished up and down river, throwing various artificials and never had a single bite. They really started running the river water starting about an hour after we got there, I don't know if that is good or bad for the bite, but it was really running. Weather was cold, windy, and sunny, probably not the best day to go walleye fishing. About 0930 we trailered up the boat and headed over to Beaver, Indian creek arm to bass fish, and wouldn't you know it, Jeb caught a nice 23" walleye on a jig. Seems we catch more walleye when we're bass fishing than we do when we target walleye.
  12. I drove over the White River on 412 about 2 weeks ago, water was brown, there was a story in today's paper about bass fishing up War Eagle, water muddy there also. They did catch some bass on a black crankbait. Good luck if you go, and please let us know how the fishing was!
  13. It is amazing how much tackle is being sold, a lot of the paddletail swimbaits are sold out on the online tackle distributors. Swimbait rods are sold out. I saw on Tacklewarehouses' site that manufacturers are now building rods specifically for A-rigs. It is good for the tackle industry, not so good for out wallets.
  14. I was out yesterday also, but I was fishing the Indian creek area, I was targeting black bass with the A-rig, but did not get a one, I did catch a 10lb. striper on the A-rig, which I was grateful for as I haven't had a fish fry in a while. That was the only bite I had all afternoon. Talked to three guys fishing out of a bass boat, all three were throwing the A-rig, they had caught 8 bass, and had caught 20 on Saturday, so it definitely did slow down on Sunday. Beautiful day to be out, but tough fishing.
  15. Next big advance? Maybe 3D DI and SI, course you'd have to wear the 3D glasses, maybe they'll come out with polarized 3D glasses, LOL.
  16. Very nice! Some good eats there.
  17. Thanks for sharing those images Trophy. Very cool so see that spoonbill. My dream bassboat would have a DI on the front and an SI in the console.
  18. Nothing wrong with a 7 lb. bass, very nice!

    Big Blue

Wow, that's one big blue! Thanks for posting that.
  20. You are right, the A-rig was a debate topic between the parties last night. The Democrats say that to make the A-rig available to hard working Americans, there should be a government subsidy made available to offset the high price of the A-rig. The GOP position is that the high price should act as an inducement to Americans to work harder, become rich, and therefore be able to purchase the A-rig without government assistance.
  21. I still have a couple of River Runts, they're probaby 40 years old now. I wonder how the A-rig would work with 5 River Runts?
  22. You can get some good deals on lefty baitcasters on Ebay. Makes me wish I could use a lefthander, but I'm a righty with BC reels.
  23. Underwater video of the A-rig in action. You can groove to the 70's style guitar music.
