The fishing was tougher than a WalMart chuck roast. But still good to get out, it was breezy so at least it wasn't uncomfortably hot. Here's the flipped dock in Bearden.

Same here, good time of the year to do it with the bass being a bit slow. Tasty little devils they are.

I use these, I think the 1/0 is a little small, maybe the 2/0. Very sharp hooks. Once I started using a trailer on buzzbaits I hooked a lot more fish. Gamakatsu SP Trailer Hooks 4pk | Tackle Warehouse

Chunks they are. Might have to break out the buzzer next time I fish Beaver. That's a fun bite.

If it was closer, I'd grab my lantern and go over there some evening, get a few and see if they are any good to eat. The drive over there from here is brutal, once you get past Indian Creek road on 62, it's curvy and hilly. You can bet you'll get stuck behind someone hauling a load and going really slow.

It's tough out there, you're doing good for this time of year.

Catfish Sampling on Lake Leatherwood Northwest Arkansas biologists completed an assessment of the Channel Catfish population in Lake Leatherwood in June. Catch rates were very high, with an average of 48 fish caught per net-series. As a comparison, the statewide median is 10 fish caught per net-series! Despite the high catch rates, we observed a good number of fish that were over 20 inches, with the largest being 26 inches. The lake would really benefit from increased harvest, so if you’re looking for a small, secluded lake in Northwest Arkansas to catch a mess of catfish, you might give Lake Leatherwood a try! Keep in mind that Lake Leatherwood is a no-wake lake, and catfish can only be caught with a rod and reel. Lake Leatherwood also has several undesirable aquatic plants, such as Curlyleaf Pondweed and Yellow Floating Heart, so please be sure to clean, drain, and dry your boat or kayak after taking out. Fished the early mornings Wednesday and Thursday, was off the water at 1000 Wednesday, and 0900 today. Nice cool mornings, but once the sun is out with no wind it warms up fast. Wednesday I caught 10 bass, mostly smallmouth, but one Largemouth and one Spot. C-rig with a Zoom Speed Craw was my best bait, dragging it on the bottom in 5-20 FOW. This morning a lot less bites, 5 smallmouth, however 3 of them were better than 15 inches. Caught 2 of the keepers on a half ounce FB jig. C-rig with the craw caught the other three. 5-20 FOW once again. Some scattered boats out there fishing for stripers, saw one get the net out, but other than that didn't see much action. From AGFC: The courtesy dock at the Lakeview Access on Bull Shoals Lake has been reinstalled, and the parking lot is now fully accessible. The courtesy dock was previously relocated to higher ground as it was obstructing access after water levels surpassed an elevation of 665 feet, inundating the parking area. We encourage visitors to take advantage of the newly accessible courtesy dock at Lakeview Access or explore one of the many other access points around Bull Shoals Lake.

Appears to be no injuries. That marina has a bunch of docks and some pretty big boats in some of the slips.

That's pretty neat, I bet those things fight like crazy. What is the price for blue crabs these days as far as buying them to take home to eat?

The water test pulls out all alcohol, water binds to alcohol, it's a simple and foolproof test to detect any form of alcohol in gasoline.

I've tested the ethanol free gas I get here in AR - a couple of times- and it is indeed ethanol free. If you have doubts, it's a real easy test to run.

Dutch and myself put in at Big M at 0530 loaded for walleye. After fishing the ends of several docks that were over deep water, and a few other deep places we realized we weren't going to catch any walleye so we bass fished for a couple of hours. There's one little pocket that holds bass this time of year, we pulled several out of that spot on top waters, jigs and the c-rig and that was the best action we had all morning. We were pulling up at the dock about 10 AM as the temps were rising and the pleasure boats were swarming. We caught 9 Kentucks, 2 of them were keepers. Lots of vehicles heading in the direction of the Rock as I was driving home. Going to be a busy holiday weekend I reckon. WT 86
