Arkansas has sneaked back into the hunt. A win over KY would be huge Thursday, though very unlikely.
  2. Here's my favorite - the big eyes are what draws in the lunkers.
  3. We want pictures of every fish.....just kidding.. You going to try those Zig jigs?

Prior to last night's game, the bracketologists were still saying Mizzou was bound for the NCAA. I would think this loss will end that talk.
  5. Cool video!
  6. Some are being accidentally caught by bass fishermen further down lake. If I was targeting walleye, I'd be fishing up above HI without waiting for reports. It's time.
  7. I forgot about plum - another great color.
  8. I'm a big Zoom Ole Monster fan - watermelon, green pumpkin, and black with either blue or red flake for low light conditions.
  9. Those guys at HLS do a good job of getting the latest 'hot' baits in. it will be interesting to see how that bait does. Come on warm weather!
  10. That's interesting that so few AR residents buy the WR license. It's a good deal for me as I fish the MO side of TR quite a bit.
  11. I hate to admit this, but that Wallie fought as hard as the bass do now. These cold water LM's aren't going to win any awards for hard pulling. Yeah Hazbin, I did the old tail squeeze and it was a good 1/8" short. That scale is a little deceiving as the 18"mark is to the right of the 18 number.
  12. Welcome!
  13. Non-resident license fees are getting ridiculous. I think there should be a reciprocal fee, for example an OK non-res fishing license is $55, but an OK resident can purchase a non-res AR license for $40. So I think it would be fair to have AR charge OK non-res license holders $55 to fish in AR. Charge the out of staters the same as they charge us to fish/hunt in their states. I realize that is all wishful thinking, but it is fun to speculate.
  14. Sounds credible to me. Kind of funny that he used the "Ike Demon" color to catch most of his keepers, and Ike himself didn't even make the cut.
  15. Yep I drag it really slow, with short pauses, trying to maintain bottom contact. In the rocks I'll give it short hops, as it will hang up less that way. The last few trips the better bite has been fishing around trees, especially cedars. The bite is usually light, yesterday I'd say most of my bites were of the tip loading like you're dragging it through grass bite.
  16. I can understand the frustration with Haith, but if you fire him, who do you replace him with? Would Mizzou be willing to pay out the coin to get a top up and comer? And if they do get a coach that becomes successful, can they get him to stay?
  17. I'm also of the opinion that Howell is a stand-up guy. If he says he caught some on Lure-X, I'll take him on his word on that. However that part about picking a bait out of a bucket of lures does sound a bit embellished. But I haven't listened to any of the interviews, I'd have to hear it before I'd make a decision on what was said. I've already got a DT-6 or two, I expect a limit of toads next time I use one on TR.
  18. Haven't fished them myself, you'd think they would work.
  19. Thanks for the heads up.
  20. A tad chilly out there early this morning, so I didn't put in until 10 AM and fished until 4 PM. I can still only catch them on a tube, tried a jig and jerk bait, but no bites on that stuff. Found a few bass, ended up with 8 LM's and a lonely spot. Had a couple of 2 lb. LM's, but the rest were 13-15" fish. Still finding them in groups, when I find them. Got several back in coves a bit, almost like they are starting to think of moving into pre-spawn holding areas. If we could just get some consistent warm weather, I think we could get some decent fishing. Forecast is not looking good however... Water temps 40-43. I did catch a walleye, he was just short of the frying pan.
  21. They (the anglers) are being cagey about it for now - they need to get all that sponsorship stuff right - but from what I can tell, Howell was using cranks. Possibly Rapala DT-6 and a prototype Livingstone lures crank.
  22. Probably just a matter of time before Strike King comes out with one for $5.99.
  23. Randy Howell with 67 lbs. 8 oz.
  24. Randy Howell already has a 24 lb. limit in the box.
