  1. Brought my buddy Jeb along today and he either brought his lucky rabbits foot, or just having him in the boat was good luck, but we went first thing to a secondary point that has a couple of docks by it and we just hammered them right off the bat, I think we got 17 or so within a 50 yard stretch of bank, with some good fish in the bunch. Biggest was a 3 lb. LM, several LM's in the 2 -2.5 lb. range and a couple of 2 lb. smallies. probably had 10 keepers out of that area all told. They ate pretty much anything we threw at them, Megabug, Trick worm, UV Speed craw and a couple on the drop shot. Funny thing was, I fished this spot yesterday and only caught one bass there. Had a breeze blowing in on the point and some fog today and that sure seemed to turn them on. Of course all good fishing must come to an end, once they stopped biting at the hotspot we bounced around to fish several other points and a steep bank or two and managed a fish or two here and there. Ended up with around 25 for the two of us. Football jig came to life for a bit at the end. We stopped about 10:15, wind had died off completely, sun was beating down, fish had stopped biting - time to go! Water temp was 85 when we left.

    That is a nice white!
  3. They do look disgusting, but thanks for posting that info.
  4. It's tough, you're doing well considering conditions. I'm going this morning again, my expectations are low, but it is still fun to get out and go fishing.
  5. Thanks for the advice, makes sense to me. It almost makes we want to take up night fishing. But I like sleeping at night.

  7. Not a heck of a lot to say, caught a couple of keeper LM's, one on an Ole Monster, another on a Trick worm, half a dozen shorts, 3 on a 1.5 squarebill thrown at surfacing fish, the rest on a Trick worm. Talked to a TR veteran who was probing the deeper water with a FB jig, he had caught 10 with 2 of those being keepers. Water temp 84-85.
  8. I was fishing on Table Rock today, talked to a guy who has had to replace this part in the past, he reads this board and asked me to post. Anyway he says that Burton's in Springfield has those caps and they are cheap as mentioned above.
  9. Definitely around flooded buck brush. There's usually a fall top water bite, might be worth a shot.
  10. Can't argue with your predictions, but maybe they'll pull an upset along the way, and end up 8-4.
  11. There's recipes out there for stuffing peppers with cheese, wrapping with bacon, and then grilling them.
  12. I've used them for trout before and trout will eat them, crickets will work also. For some fun, get some light wire, long shank panfish hooks, thread the hopper on the hook, the hopper will float with that light wire hook, attach a bobber to help you cast, throw it in spots like Phil mentioned and let if free float with the current.
  13. Walleyecentral.com has all kinds of Lund talk, your head will spin.
  14. You have hurt my feelings, I'm going to watch some of my Oprah DVD's, maybe she can restore my wounded pride. Or...I'll just go bass fishing tomorrow and take it out on some dinks!
  15. Hey Bill tried to send you a PM, but your mailbox rejected it. Is your mailbox on OA full?
  16. Glad to hear the fish made it through the drought.
  17. What, no bass?? I am disappointed.
  18. Welcome! Reports from TRL are always welcome also. Good luck out there!
  19. Thanks for the report, sounds like things recovered after the flood.
  20. We can only hope.
  21. Must have something to do with the White I guess, it was pea soup at the Big M Thursday morning.
  22. Chris Lane pulled it out, I hate to see Mark Davis not win this one, but Chris seems to be a good guy, so congrats to him! http://www.bassmaster.com/tournaments/2013-elite-series-lake-st-clair-championship/leaderboard
  23. That first Terminator movie is one of my all-time favorites. Hopefully we'll have a "normal" spring next year, and it is always interesting to see how the pros fish Beaver.
