  1. I'm sticking to my beliefs that walleye are the source of all mysterious breakoffs.
  2. Keith Coombs win on Falcon lake last year (can't remember if it was FLW or Elite) comes to mind. He's a Falcon lake guide. At any of the big tournaments there's always some anglers that call that lake home. You'd think they would have an advantage, but it unusual in the big tourneys for one of the locals to win.
  3. Reintarnation: Coming back to life as a hillbilly.
  4. As far as the White, below Bull Shoals, why would you even need to chum?
  5. Co-angler won with a 2 day total of 12.42 lbs. A total of 5 keepers over 2 days for him. I didn't see a limit weighed by any of the co's on any of the 2 days. How often do you see that? The co that finished 3rd, weighed in only one fish on Friday and it was dead.
  6. Yeah they were recently considered "invasive" in some of the Washington alpine lakes and creeks. Thy didn't go as far as to poison the lakes, but they did remove limits on them. But who is going to hike 10 miles out of the mountains with a cooler full of trout? In some of the lakes they have really taken hold and are doing fine, too fine, they get stunted. But they'll never fade away on their own. There are alpine lakes that don't have good spawning structure and in those lakes they stock fingerlings, but nowadays those fingerlings are rainbows or cuts. They have stopped that also in the National Parks, as the bows and cuts are also considered invasive. many of the Alpine lakes did not have fish of any kind in them until trout were stocked. The main concern is that the trout may damage amphibian populations of salamanders and frogs. So no more trout stocking in the National Park highland lakes.
  7. This is unbelievable, hopefully it doesn't take hold in this country. http://www.cbc.ca/thisisthat/blog/2013/09/03/to-ensure-every-child-wins-ontario-athletic-association-removes-ball-from-soccer/index.html Should've saved this for April 1.
  8. Sorry to hear this, my condolences also to you and the family.
  9. Tying on some spooks, hooking up the boat, getting ready to head for the Kings in about 20 minutes...just kidding. But dang, why can't I get lucky some day and find myself in the middle of a big bass topwater bite in the middle of the day?
  10. They are a fall spawner. Under the right conditions they can become over populated and become stunted. Some of the alpine lakes and creeks in Washington state were, and probably still are, over populated with them.
  11. Tacklecenter.com is running a 40% off sale right now. Not on all their inventory, but on Zoom, War Eagle (spinner baits, buzz baits, jigs), Bomber cranks and some other brands. They have a great selection of Zoom plastics and at 40% off you're looking at most Zoom bags being under $3.00. I have no association with them, just passing it on as there are some real deals on good stuff. They are an Arkansas based company BTW. http://www.tacklecenter.com/
  12. Thanks for the info Merc, I'll have to give that slip sinker/jig combo a try.
  13. Sky diving scorpions, not good.
  14. I'm curious as to why you're using the slip sinker - get the jig to the bottom faster? As a noise maker?
  15. Looks like some great water and not another boat in sight.
  16. Yep the prosecution is going to have a tough case. If it goes to trial. Could be a plea bargain, especially if the prosecution thinks they have a weak case.
  17. I don't see how disease spread could be a problem as they are in the hatchery, so if they (Brookies) caught a disease it would come from..?? Brookies have been stocked in the White below BS quite a bit, didn't cause any problems and made some folks happy that wanted to catch a brookie.
  18. 2 springs ago I was fishing in my buddy Jeb's boat on Beaver, I had just caught a keeper sized walleye on a jerk bait, checked my line, it was OK, made another cast, twitch, twitch, paused the bait back to the boat, and gave it one final pause right at the boat where I could see the bait. A big fish appears out of nowhere, all I could see was the head, and the jerk bait disappears as the fish inhales it. Lift the rod, line seperates with little pressure just like it had been cut. I didn't get a good look at the fish, but I'm convinced it was a big walleye. Every once in a while, especially on TR, I'll get a bite, lift the rod and the line seperates, I'm convinced it is not because of frayed line or bad knots, it's cut. I blame it on walleye, but it could be something else I suppose. Could be gar, but I've had it happen when the water is cold and the gar are not active.
  19. The winner gets a boat, a Nitro I believe. I'm curious how that works, do they have to take delivery of the boat or can they get cash equivalent? A lot of those guys already own boats that they like so you'd think, they'd rather have cash.
  20. A few guys did well, but overall looks like the catching is tough. Co-anglers are really having a brutal time. http://fishpaa.com/2013-table-rock-results/
  21. No prob Bill, lots of different opinions on this subject.
  22. Sorry to hear the bite is tough. I haven't been out this week, might give it a shot next week, but I sure would like to see this high pressure system get out of here.
  23. I'm trying to figure out why they would NOT release them?

If he's just had an affair, he'd probably still be at Arkansas. But he was boffing an employee of his, she probably would not have been hired if it wasn't for her relationship with Spitino. So money is involved, (her salary) and it's public money, taxpayer money. And he topped it all off by lying about the whole thing to his boss. It is a let down for the kids he recruited, but ol' Bobby had a habit of jumping from coaching jobs before he came to AR.
