In the White, around Big M up to point 23, I'd say you're looking at 5-8 feet of viz. Some of the coves it's less, but in general it's pretty good viz for bass fishing purposes.

Seems the Fin can't be beat, at least on the local lakes. Lots of wake baits out there, but from what I'm hearing from the folks here is that some of them are good, but none can top the Fin.

Yep, I might head up to the Indian creek arm Saturday.

Looks like the lake has come up a few more inches. More rain forecasted for Sunday. Dunno how much.

Back in my days of living in the northeast, all of the trout in the lakes and streams for the most part back then were stocked fish. Using corn for bait was very popular, when cleaned most of the trout had corn in their guts, quite a few would also have cigarette butts. Pretty much a put and take fishery, so long term health of the trout was not a concern.

Had a guy out in his lake side back yard yell at me for catching "his" bass. At first I thought he was kidding, but he was serious. He probably would have flipped out if I had dared to place a crawdad trap near his stretch of shoreline.

Only a 1/4" here in Bella Vista.

One of the Bella Vista lake patrol folks would stop at the Windsor dam every afternoon and toss several scoops of "fish chow" into the water off one of the docks that are on the dam. The water would boil in a few minutes, cats and carp mainly. I'd think that a dock owner could buy some of that fish chow and toss some in the water every evening and it would not be long before you'd have a catfish honey hole. Probably would attract a few craws also.

Yep spending a winter in Alaska isn't worth a thousand bucks or so.

I was reading that the FLW is coming to Grand this weekend. Should be interesting, water is muddy from what I hear.

I have only been fishing the Rock for 2 years now, so I will be interested also to hear what the veterans have to say. There are certainly a lot of shad this year in the White around Big M. Plenty of 13-16" fat healthy spots and a good population of 13-16" LM's as well. The LM's are fat and healthy looking for post-spawn fish and I am hoping these fish will provide us with a bumper crop of bigger LM's in the next few years.

Curious if anyone has tried these on the Rock. I hate the Fin, yeah I know they work, but looking for something that is better quality and runs true out of the box. Rapala has a jointed floater that's 5 1/4", some of the ratings on BPS say it works as a wake bait, but will it work on the Rock?

Glad to hear you got a keeper. I agree with you on loving every minute, even on a tough day the Rock is a great place to fish.

Got out early, had a good topwater bite for a while, up shallow on a couple of gravel points. After that died down I beat the buck brush for a while, that wasn't working for me, so c-rigged a Zoom Ultravibe speed craw in a couple of coves and picked up a few fish doing that. Every once in a while fishing the plastics, some top water fish would get active and I'd toss the Gunfish at them. Ended up with close to 25 black bass and one misguided white bass. Ran into RPS and introduced myself, nice meeting you, hope you found some keeper 'eyes.

Well you know how it goes, if I bring some ice and plan on keeping a wallie, I'll never catch one.

There's some access around the COE ramp at Big M. You might find a top water bite if you get there early. Also some access at Viney COE ramp across the lake from Big M. It certainly would help if you had some waders.

Got out there early for no purpose, my go to top water spot was not producing today. Caught a couple there, but not the 10-20 I expect from that place. Ended up with 16 total for the morning, most came on a Gunfish, a couple on a tail spinner yo-yo'd on the points, couple on plastics, one on a jig. Probably should have spent more time fishing the buck brush, if I go back tomorrow that's what I'll do if the top water bite slows. Did get a double header, and caught a keeper walleye (released) on the Rage Tail Lobster. That's 2 keeper walleye in my last 2 trips on the lobster. They seem to like it.
